Chapter 8: Introduction

The principal, Angelo, and Mr. Florence were in shock at what happened. They arrived a few minutes after Ms. Belle and Elizabeth returned to the room. Due to this matter, they also witnessed the fight between Denise and her classmate with Patricia being accidentally involved. Ms. Belle was surprised to see the principal with visitors at the door of their classroom because she was not expecting them.

"Both of you, stop it! The principal is here." Ms. Belle immediately said to the students fighting.

"Help me separate them!" Ms. Belle told the other students and some pulled Denise and her classmate away from each other to stop the fight. Patricia was set free also when the two fighting students were separated.

"What is going on here?!" The principal, Ms. Therese, shouted.

"I am deeply sorry, Ms. Therese. The students were fighting when I returned. They were supposed to be doing their seatwork. This will not happen again." Ms. Belle was nervous while explaining.

Ms. Therese raised his right hand implying Ms. Belle to stop explaining. "The students involved in the fight earlier, proceed to my office now." The principal said. However, no one was moving as if they heard nothing.

"Do not make me repeat what I said. Move or I will call your parents this moment." Ms. Therese added.

"Go now to the principal's office. Do not make the principal angry. Quickly." Ms. Belle whispered to Denise, Patricia, and her classmate.

The three students walked towards the door and proceeded to the principal's office while Ms. Belle remained in the room to accommodate Ms. Therese.

"Everyone else, please return to your seats now." Ms. Belle told the other students in the class.

Each student hurriedly went back to their respective seats.

Ms. Therese sighed and calmed herself. She looked at Angelo and Mr. Florence and said, "I apologize if you have to witness this terrible scenario, Angelo and Mr. Florence. I hope your perspective about the school will not change. We do not tolerate the wrongdoings of students and they will be reprimanded if needed."

"It is fine, Ms. Therese. We understand." Angelo replied.

"Yes, it is really fine, and no worries. We still believe this is a great institution." Mr. Florence said.

"I appreciate your kind consideration. Well, let us proceed with our purpose here in this class. Please come inside." Ms. Therese was in relief and they all entered the classroom.

Ms. Therese, Angelo, and Mr. Florence stood in front of the classroom with Ms. Belle.

"Good afternoon, Ms. Belle and students. Allow me to introduce Angelo. He is a transfer student in this school and will be part of your class. Be good to him, okay?" Ms. Therese stated.

Everyone was staring at Angelo and it made him nervous. The principal noticed that Angelo is feeling anxious.

"Go ahead, Angelo. You may say a little introduction about yourself. Do not be nervous." Ms. Therese told Angelo.

"Thank you, Ms. Therese," Angelo replied and took a deep breath.

"Good afternoon, everyone. My name is Angelo Diaz and he is my father, Mr. Florence Diaz. I am happy and excited to be part of this class. I hope I could gain a lot of friends and we could take some photos together. My passion and talent is photography." Angelo added.

"Nice to meet you, Angelo. I am Ms. Belle, the Values Education teacher. Welcome to this class and you may seat beside..." Ms. Belle looked around to see a vacant seat.

"You may sit beside Elizabeth Feliz. It is vacant. I hope you will have a wonderful time studying here." Ms. Belle said and gave a warm welcome to Angelo.

"Thank you so much, Ms. Belle. I appreciate the warm welcome." Angelo replied.

"Well, I guess this is a start of a great journey for you, Angelo." Ms. Therese said and afterward looked at Ms. Belle, " We will go ahead, Ms. Belle. Thank you for your time and please proceed to my office later as well." The principal would like to coordinate with Ms. Belle about the incident that happened earlier.

Ms. Therese said to Angelo and Mr. Florence "Let us go, now, Angelo and Mr. Florence. I will accompany you outside."

Angelo and Mr. Florence agreed and they all went outside and left the classroom.

While they are walking in the hallway, the principal said, "I am happy that you chose our school, Angelo. Your talent in photography is amazing and I hope that you will use this opportunity to have your talent nurtured as well as your knowledge. I hope you will enjoy your stay here at this school. If there is anything I can help you with, do not hesitate to tell me. I will be glad to help you."

"I am grateful to be chosen as a scholar also, Ms. Therese. If it wasn't for the scholarship, I will not be able to study here because we cannot afford the tuition fee and other expenses. I will do my best to make my father proud." Angelo suddenly glanced at Mr. Florence. His father was touched and smiled at him.

"I know you will do great, Angelo. Well, I do not want to take much of your time. Have a safe trip going home and good luck on your first day tomorrow, Angelo." The principal smiled while looking at both of them.

"Thank you also for your time, Ms. Therese," Angelo replied.

"Thank you, Ms. Therese," Mr. Florence also stated and they all bid farewell to each other.

Angelo and Mr. Florence walked together towards the gate where they left the ID of Mr. Florence in exchange for a visitor's pass.

While walking, Mr. Florence said, "I am happy for you, Angelo. Focus on your studies and do not forget to enjoy as well. I will handle the other finances needed for your school if ever your allowance from the scholarship will not be enough. Okay?"

"I appreciate it, father. Do not worry. I will be frugal and as much as possible, I will save money from my allowance so we can have extra cash in the future." Angelo replied.

"Oh, I may not be rich but I am very fortunate to have you as my son." Mr. Florence was touched by his son's kind words.

They already reached the gate and returned the Visitor's pass to the guard. The guard searched for the ID and gave it to Mr. Florence.

"Thank you, sir." Mr. Florence said.

"Thank you" Angelo also stated.

"You are welcome." The guard replied with a smile

Angelo and Mr. Florence left the campus with big hopes and high dreams.
