Caleb woke up the next morning to an empty bed. He imagined that Beth left in the early hours of the morning snuck out while he was asleep. His heart shattered, and he lay in bed disappointed.
Last night was amazing. She was exactly the type of woman that Caleb wished he had, one like her that wouldn’t run away. Finally, after Caleb finished sulking, he forced himself out of bed and went to take a shower.
The warm water ran over his skin and washed away the smell of Aideen. It was better to not think of her. Caleb knew that being with her was too good to be true. Why did he ever think she would want to be with him?
