Rliey. The ride home from the hospital is quiet. Alec hasn’t said a word to me, and I know it’s because he’s upset. Lucy had to stay in because she has a concussion and needs to be monitored overnight. He didn’t want to leave her, but as we both told him, she’s safe. The cops are outside her door; nothing will happen. Besides, I don’t think she will do anything else now—not after this. His hand is tapping his leg as we wait at a red light.
