As I lay in bed, I wondered if everything was okay with my brother and Alec. However, when I heard the shouting, I knew he had told him. My heart started pounding, but I didn’t move from my spot on the bed. It’s all my fault this happened.
It took about five minutes for the noise to quiet down, and when it did, I decided to fall asleep. I’m not sure how long I was out for when I heard my bedroom door open, followed by a lot of rustling. Then, the bathroom door opened, and the light switched on. I pretended to be asleep while I watched Alec brush his teeth for six minutes—he brushed for that long because he did it three times.
