Joy was shocked “What is all this? Who are these things for?” Joy asked, “Are you Joy?” asked a lady from the team “Yes I am Joy but how did you know my name” Joy replied “All these are for you from Sammy” The lady said “Sammy? Oh no not another surprise” Joy said with a large smile “Get me my phone from my room” Joy instructed their house girl. The house girl ran into Joy’s room and brought her phone, “Here is your phone, ma” the house girl said, Joy collected the phone and did a video call with Gamela.”Baby girl guess what” Joy said to Gamela immediately she picked up the call “What is happening? You know I am bad at guessing, tell me!” Gamela replied “See for yourself,” Joy said as she switched the camera for Gamela to see “Wow, this is amazing!, who are they for?, Gamela asked “They are for me, From Sammy” Joy replied blushing “Sammy is such a gentleman, please do not hang up I want to see all of it, girl!” Gamela screamed with so much enthusiasm “Okay girl” replied Joy “Please hold the phone and make sure she sees everything happening here” Joy instructed the house girl as she handed her phone over to her “Okay ma” replied the house girl, she took the phone from Joy and stood at a corner showing everything to Gamela. It brought so much happiness to Joy to see everyone around her extremely happy because of the surprise Sammy pulled off. The surprise was overwhelmingly amazing, “ All these for me? a brass band, cake, money cake, wrapped gifts, frames, and flowers, Just for me? And what is this screen even for? Is this even real? Am I dreaming or imagining all these?” Joy thought in disbelief and exhilaration. The surprise team then did a video call to Sammy projecting it on the screen for everyone to see. “Oh this is what the screen was for, Sammy is very interesting,” Joy thought as she smiled to herself “Joy, I know we have only known each other for a short period, but I have always loved you since the very first day I came across your profile. I want you to be mine now and forever. Joy, Would you be my girlfriend?” Sammy said on the screen, Joy stood there in awe and she felt her heart stop, she was happy but was not expecting this “Wow! He knows what he wants, so soon?” Joy thought “Say yes!” everybody shouted, “Say yes! Girl” Gamela screamed on the phone “Come here!” Rev and Rev Mrs. Koroma said as they dragged Joy by the hand inside, “What is all this? Who is this man? Have you met before? Are you convinced he’s genuine? Do you love him? Are you sure he doesn’t have another motive? Because all these seem too good to be true” They asked Joy in a worried tone, “Please Mom and Dad don’t ruin my happiness, don't reject this one too, I beg of you” replied Joy “We are only worried and want the best for you Joy, you have to understand” Rev Mrs. Koroma said “okay let me just answer your questions and go back outside, they are waiting for me. As I started to explain earlier, I met him online, his name is Sammy, he has been trying to reach me for a long time now but I didn’t notice his messages, I only noticed days ago and we started talking, he says he lives abroad, he is a surgeon by profession, a billionaire by inheritance, his parents are from here but settled abroad and built a huge empire for themselves, they are good Christians, he loves me and wants to marry me. There, that is all you need to know. I promise you’ll love him just give him a chance, after all, I’m just going to be his girlfriend for now not his wife” Joy explained “Hmmmm is this not too fast? Are you sure you want to do this?” Rev Koroma asked “Yes Daddy, I want to do this. Please let me” begged Joy “Okay if you want this, you love him, and from everything you've said he's a good man. Then what are you waiting for? Don’t keep the young man, his surprise team, and the people outside waiting, go give him a yes” Rev Koroma said with a big smile and his wife smiled along. Joy was astonished and very happy at what her parents said, she jumped up from the chair and hugged them “Thank you!” she said and she ran outside. “Yes! Yes! Yes!, I'll be your girlfriend Sammy” Joy screamed as she ran to where the surprise team and the people stood, a lady from the surprise team handed her a ring box, and she jumped up in elation when she opened it “Wow! It's so beautiful” she screamed “Let me see girl!” Gamela screamed on the phone “It is a diamond” screamed Rev Mrs. Koroma “A real one too” Said a lady from the surprise team as she brought out a tester “Yesss it is a real diamond” Joy said as she jumped up in excitement after the tester proved it was an actual diamond. “Joy, I wish I was there to do this by myself but I promise I will do the marriage proposal myself. I love you” said Sammy on the Screen. The brass band began to play songs of Jubilation and everyone danced, Sammy cried from happiness as he watched Joy, Gamela, Joy’s parents, and everyone so happy and Jubilating. After all the dancing and Jubilation, the surprise team handed all the gifts to Joy, and she unwrapped them in front of everyone “Wow my small Madam’s boyfriend is very rich, these gifts are very expensive” Said the house girl in admiration “If he sent all these just to ask her to be his girlfriend, then I can’t wait for the proposal, engagement, and wedding.” One of Joy’s neighbors said “Aww Sammy, this is too much and so sweet of you” Joy said crying as she opened the gifts “Enjoy my love, I will even do more, I am going to pamper you with love” Sammy replied smiling. The surprise team ended the video call with Sammy, helped Joy bring her gifts inside the house, and left. Joy then took her phone from the house girl “Hey girl I will call you later, let me handle things over here and pack all these gifts, we will gist later. I love you.” Joy said to Gamela as she hung up the call “Please take my phone back to my room and help me pack all these things in my room” Joy instructed the house girl as she handed her phone over to her “Okay ma” the house girl replied as she grabbed the phone and one of the gifts. “Joy! Joy!” Called Rev and Rev Mrs. Koroma “Yes Mummy, Yes Daddy I am coming” answered Joy “Please be fast, we are waiting” Rev Mrs. Koroma replied “Here I am” Said Joy as she ran to the sitting room “Sit down, we want to have a conversation with you” Said Rev Mrs. Koroma as her husband nodded in agreement “Is there any problem,” Joy asked as she sat down “We only wanted to tell you that we are happy about everything that is happening, we trust you would not do anything wrong and we hope you would come to us first if anything goes wrong” Said Rev Koroma as his wife nodded in agreement “Thank you, mummy and daddy, I promise you there's no need to be worried and nothing will go wrong” Joy assured them “Okay if you say so, please call Sammy we want to talk to him too” Rev Mrs. Koroma said “Okay Mummy” Replied Joy as she jumped up from the chair, she then ran to her room, collected her phone, came back to the sitting room, sat down and called Sammy. “Hello my love” Said Sammy immediately after he picked up the call “Hey baby, my parents want to speak with you” Joy replied “Okay put the phone on loudspeaker, let me speak with them,” Sammy said “Mummy and Dadthe day he is ready to speak with you,” Joy told her parents as she placed the call on loudspeaker, “Good Morning Sir and Madam, I hope the Saturday is going great so far, it is a pleasure to speak with you,” Sammy Said “Wow Joy picked a good one, he is well trained,” Rev Mrs. Koroma thought “Hello Sammy, Good Morning to you too, the day has gone great so far and we are happy to speak with you too” Rev Koroma replied “We are happy with everything you have done so far, we called to thank you for all you have done for Joy in this short period,” Rev Mrs. Koroma said, “We are giving the both of you our love, blessings, and support, we hope your intentions are pure, we also hope you do not hurt our child and we pray you eventually come home and marry her.” Rev Koroma added “Thank you very much, sir and madam, I promise nothing would go wrong I do love your daughter” Sammy replied. Joy sat there smiling as they conversed “Okay thank you again and that is all for now we will talk to you later” Replied Rev Mrs. Koroma. “Hey baby, I will call you later” Joy whispered into the phone as she ended the call. “He’s well trained and such a polite gentleman” Rev Mrs. Koroma told Joy “I just hope he is not pretending, you can go back to what you were doing,” Rev Koroma replied “Okay mummy and Daddy, Thank you,” said Joy and she went back to her room. “To be honest with you, I am delighted at how intentional and romantic Sammy has proven to be so far, I am very sure he would make a good husband for our daughter and take very good care of her as he is a billionaire,” Rev Mrs. Koroma said to her husband “I hope so” Mr. Koroma responded and the both of them went to their room. Joy was very tired from all the excitement and jubilating, so she flung herself onto her bed “Since it is the weekend let me rest, I will call Sammy and Gamela later” She thought and slept. “Rev and Rev Mrs. Koroma!” Someone called out as he knocked on the front door of their house, “who is there?” answered the house girl “I am a delivery boy, I have a package for them” The boy answered “Sir!, Madam! There is a package here for you” the house girl called as she knocked on Rev and Rev Mrs. Koroma’s room door “Who is it? What is it? We are tired and want to rest” Rev Mrs. Koroma replied “It is me Ma, there is someone outside the front door asking for you and your husband, he said he came with a package for the both of you,” the house girl told Rev Mrs. Koroma “Okay, I am coming, my husband is already asleep” Rev Mrs. Koroma answered and the house girl went back to her chores. Rev Mrs. Koroma got up from the bed, went outside the room, went straight to the front door of their house, and opened the door “Who are you? And what do you want” She asked “I am a delivery boy, are you Rev Mrs. Koroma?” The boy asked “Yes I am Rev Mrs. Koroma, Why are you looking for me? Rev Mrs. Koroma replied “I came with a package for you and your husband from Sammy and please you have to sign here” The boy told Rev Mrs. Koroma as he showed her where to sign, she signed and took the package “Thank you” she said as she closed the door from behind. Rev Mrs. Koroma was very tired, so she just placed the package on the center table of the living room, went back to her room, lay on the bed, and slept. Joy’s phone beeped repeatedly and the sound suddenly woke her up, she took her phone, opened it, and saw text messages, two from Gamela, three from Sammy, and one from an unknown number “These people won't let me rest, I only slept for a short time and they've flooded my phone with messages. Let me just open Gamela and Sammy’s text first, the unknown number might just be a mistake as usual” She thought to herself.

She opened Sammy’s texts,

The first text said

HEY MY LOVE

The second one said

PLEASE CALL ME WHEN YOU SEE THIS

The last one said

ARE YOU OKAY?, I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO REACH YOU. I MISS YOU ALREADY BABE.

Joy replied

SORRY BABE I WAS SLEEPING, I WILL CALL YOU SOON.

She then opened Gamela’s texts

The first text said

BABY GIRL CAN YOU GIVE ME YOUR BOYFRIEND’S NUMBER, I WANT TO PERSONALLY THANK HIM

The second text said

ARE YOU SLEEPING? OKAY I WILL JUST WAIT FOR YOUR REPLY

Joy replied

SORRY, GIRL I WAS SLEEPING, I WILL TEXT YOU HIS NUMBER SOON.

After reading and replying to Sammy and Gamela she ignored the anonymous text “Let me just go get something from the kitchen to eat, I’m very hungry. I’ll just check this last message, call Sammy, and text Gamela later” she said. She got up from her bed, opened her door, walked sluggishly to the kitchen, took a plate and spoon, opened the pot, dished out some food for herself, took a cup, went to the fridge, took out a bottle of water, a juice box, served her self juice, put the box of juice back in the fridge, went to the dining, sat down and ate her food. After eating, she became so full, heavy, and lazy. She got up and left the plate, cup, and water bottle on the dining table for the house girl to clean up.

She sluggishly walked back to her room, and then she remembered she had not opened the anonymous text, so she grabbed her phone, sat down, and opened the text. “What does this mean? Is this a prank? Is this text really for me? What is going on? What have I done?” she asked herself as she stared at the phone. She was confused by the text, so she read the text again and loudly to herself HEY JOY, I KNOW YOU DON’T KNOW ME, I MEAN YOU NO HARM, I WANT TO HELP. YOU HAVE JUST MADE THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF YOUR LIFE. PLEASE DON'T TELL ANYONE ABOUT ME, CALL ME WHEN YOU HAVE THE TIME AND DO IT QUICK THIS IS URGENT.

“Who is this? Is this text for another Joy? What does this person mean? What mistake? The biggest mistake of my life? Am I in trouble? Should I ask for help? Should I be worried? Is this even real?” She thought to herself as her hand began to tremble in fear and she could hear her heart thumping faster.
