Nolan Duvall performed a quick mental calculation.
His eyes instantly darkened.
Reese Blackwood was older than him. Rowan Blackwood was his father, yet had a son four months older than him—one not born to Mommy. This meant Rowan Blackwood had cheated during marriage! He had wronged Mommy!
Nolan's beautiful phoenix eyes blazed with fury, as if he could incinerate Rowan Blackwood through the screen.
The airport punishment hadn't been enough.
Nolan pulled out his pinhole camera, connected it to the computer, changed his IP address, and uploaded the footage of him humiliating Rowan Blackwood. He smiled satisfactorily.
You framed Mommy? Taste what it's like to make headlines!
After investigating Reese Blackwood, Nolan discovered he attended Chloe Bennett's kindergarten.
Perhaps returning to Nexopolis wasn't so bad.
Nolan smirked, wiped his digital traces, and went to help Marielle pack. His small frame struggled with the wardrobe.
Frustrated by his short stature, he silently vowed to grow faster to protect Mommy.
Using a stool, he managed to hang clothes just as Chloe returned.
"Marielle! Have you lost weight these five years?"
Chloe embraced Marielle tearfully.
"I'm fine, silly. Why cry?"
"Of course you're not fine! But you're staying now—I'll take care of you."
"Alright. I have a six-month project here. Let me introduce my son."
In the bedroom, Nolan lost balance on the stool. Chloe caught him but they both fell.
Seeing his face, she squealed and kissed his cheek.
Nolan scowled. "Get off me, old hag!"
"I'm only twenty-eight!"
"I'm four. You're ancient. Get off!"
Offended, Chloe kissed him more. Nolan grabbed a stun gun and shocked her.
"This was for Mommy to fend off wolves. Never thought I'd use it on an old she-wolf!"
He stormed off to wash his face while Marielle laughed and Chloe nursed her wounded pride.
"How did you raise such a demon?"
"Just don't touch him and you'll be fine."
Later, checking her phone, Chloe burst out laughing at a headline.
