Chapter 28: EXAMS DAY-1 part 2

I started warming up, my nervousness doubled as minutes pass by. This is it, everything I work hard for these past few days is all for this exam. I don't have to win, I just need to have 40 points every fight, just 40 points and I'll pass. I was busy worrying about the possible results of my performance when I heard Chylus talking, looking at me.

"Don't worry, Aes is an easy opponent" Chylus teased Aes. Aes reacted exaggeratedly "Not because you win against me almost every time means she can defeat me. I'm a great fighter!" everyone laughed.

"Almost?" Ry tried to tease him again, Aes being Aes, took the bait. He glared at Ry and sighed in defeat. "Shut up Pryor! Fine, every time!" Aes rolled his eyes to Ry. I thought Ry was just kidding but Aes admitted that he loses to Chylus every time.

"For real?" I asked, having doubts if they are playing with me. Maybe they are just trying to console me so I won't feel down.

"Yeah, Chylus and Pryor are the best when it comes on hand to hand combat" Gio explained. I thought at least that Gio was an ace to the team. Maybe if they will be ranked according to their strengths as a fighter, Chylus and Ry would be at the first place then Gio at second place and lastly, the third place goes to Aes but he did not have to worry that much, I am here, I'm sure I'll rank lower than him.

"So, who's your bet?" Aes asked the three. They were about to answer when someone shouted.

"I'm betting on Mady!" it was Cal. Walking towards us, Soren is walking right behind him, looking at us. I looked at the time, its 2 minutes before 9.

"Yeah, I'm betting on Mady too" that was Gio. Our gaze met when he looked at me, I smiled at him.

"Same here" Ry answered looking at Aes, he was teasing him. We all looked at Chylus to wait for his answer. I wasn't taking the bet seriously since I think they are only teasing Aes. But it feels nice that they were not casting me out of the team.

"Mady" he simply answered. Everyone except Soren laughed at Aes reaction when he heard Chylus answer.

"I thought were best friends. You betrayed me!" Aes shouted at Chylus then laughed after.

"Then who will bet on Aes?" Cal asked. Yeah, right. What is the bet for when they're all rooting for me?

"Soren" we all looked at Chylus then at Soren.

"Let's start!" said Soren. In an instant, my heart raced. I felt Gio's hand on my shoulder, I looked at him still feeling nervous.

"Chin up! You got this" he then tap my back then sat down on the benches. I looked at him then smiled before going to the front where our fighting area will be. The area is just in front of the benches, everyone else is sitting down on the benches as we fight on this grass-covered field.

I stood parallel to Aes.

"Before we start, Caligo and I made a discussion earlier. In the end, we finalized that both of us will have 50 points that we will divide on the two duelers and the winner will still be decided by both of us. That's it. You may now start" he motioned for us to start.

I quickly looked at Aes expecting that he will attack immediately, I made a fighting stance. But to my surprise, he didn't. It's like he was telling me to attack first. But, I did not want to attack first.

"Come on Mady! We are running out of time--" I did not want to attack first but I saw an opening so I did. I cut Aes words when I punched him in his face. The impact was strong enough that he leaned to his right side.

I saw his punch coming from his right fist so I moved to my right to avoid his punch but I was taken aback when Aes hit my right cheek with his left fist. It wasn't that strong but it hurts.

I haven't recovered from his first attack when he grabbed me with his right hand turning me. My back is now on his chest, I removed his hand and bent to grab his left foot behind me. I felt his thing on my buttocks when I bent but I quickly got rid of that thought and focused on making him fall. I successfully grabbed his feet and pulled him to make him fall. I lifted my left leg and turned counterclockwise to kick him. He is now sitting on the floor so my feet could easily reach him. It was a hit.

I thought I was taking control of the fight until he kicked me, I was startled so he was able to get up. He threw punches after punches, I tried to avoid every punch but I was not successful to some, it still hit me although I was able to lessen its impact.

He got tired and tried to breathe so I punched him on his gut, he stumbled a bit so I took it as an opportunity to push him down, we only have a few minutes left. I successfully pushed him down, I sat down on his stomach to prevent him from getting up. I pushed his upper body to touch the ground he is now completely laying on the grass field. I threw punches at him as he tried to get up, he kept pushing me. We were both moving a lot until we both stopped.

BOTH OF HIS HANDS ARE ON MY CHEST! He tried to push me but unluckily his hands reached my chest instead of my shoulders. We both stopped. He quickly removed his hands on my chest.

"What the heck? Why did you do that?" I shouted, still sitting on his stomach. A while ago, all my weights are on my feet so that Aes won't be suffocated as I sit down on his stomach but now all of my weights are focused on my bottom.

"I'm so sorry Mady! It was an accident, I only wanted to push you off of me" he tried explaining he looked really sorry but I don't care.

I lifted my right hand, ready to give him a slap. I made sure to make it as strong as I can, so I did. As soon as my palm contacted his left cheek, my handprint started to form a mark. But I was not done yet. I use my palm to slap his left cheek and used the back of my hand to slap his right cheek. I slapped his left and right, alternately with all my might. That was so embarrassing that I just have to release all of that embarrassment by slapping him.

I did not stop, Aes tried his best to block every slap but he did not have the energy to do it so most of my attack was a hit, he can't focus on defending since I still kept the weight on my buttocks making it difficult for him to breath properly. He is trying his best to push me off of him but he just fails every time he tries to.

"TIME'S UP!"
