"Take him down!" the man with an arrow lodged in his arm barked at the other two, his eyes blazing with fury at Martin.
"Leave it to us," the two men sneered, advancing toward Martin.
"Stop right there! One more step, and I'll shoot," Martin warned, drawing his bow and aiming at them.
The two men halted, a flicker of fear crossing their faces as they saw the bow in Martin's hands.
They knew the power of that bow. Moments ago, Martin had shot through a man's arm. At such close range, getting hit by an arrow would be disastrous.
"Don't get excited, let's talk this out," the man on the left said to Martin.
The other man chimed in with a grin, "Yeah, are you looking for your girlfriend? She's with us. We just sent her back to our hideout. If you want to see her, I'll take you there."
