Chapter 8: Two Girls

1094 Words
In one go, Aimee drank more than half a bottle of mineral water. After replenishing her water supply, Aimee felt a wave of relaxation and then handed the remaining water to Martin. "The rest is for you." After handing the water to Martin, Aimee hurriedly turned around in a bit of a panic to check on the two girls. Looking at the remaining half bottle of water and then at the somewhat flustered Aimee, Martin couldn't help but smile. Aimee had drunk from this bottle earlier, and now it seemed they had indirectly shared something again. A few seconds later, Martin gulped down the remaining water. His previously exhausted body felt revitalized. "Martin, come quickly, they're both still alive!" Aimee shouted to Martin after checking on the two girls. Hearing Aimee's words, Martin hurried over. The two girls were indeed still alive, but their condition was critical, with very weak breathing and life-threatening at any moment. Especially the short-haired girl, whose thigh was cut by something sharp, not only swollen but also oozing black blood. "Martin, quick, help them!" Aimee, having never encountered such a situation before, was at a loss. Martin looked at the short-haired girl, hesitated for a moment, and then nodded seriously. "Well, since they're still alive, we can't just stand by and do nothing," Martin thought to himself. "First, bandage that girl's wound." Martin took a piece of clothing from the backpack and handed it to Aimee. The short-haired girl's situation was very dangerous and her bleeding needed to be stopped immediately, otherwise, she would definitely lose too much blood. "After bandaging the wound, perform CPR on her!" Martin instructed again. "Okay!" Aimee followed Martin's instructions, took the clothing, and began to bandage the short-haired girl's wound. As for Martin, he half-knelt in front of the other long-haired girl. The white long dress clung to her wet body, and the long-haired girl's figure was almost fully exposed in front of Martin. Her figure was graceful and impeccable. This was definitely the most stunning figure Martin had ever seen. Especially her waist, which was as slender as a willow. Although her beauty is slightly less striking than Aimee's, in terms of figure alone, this girl definitely wins. Martin suddenly felt a warm rush in his nose. This was too much. "Phew!" Martin took a deep breath, thinking to himself that now was not the time for distractions; he had to save her first. After several seconds, Martin's mind finally cleared a bit. Martin tried his best not to look at the long-haired girl's graceful body and began to carefully assess her condition. The situation wasn't too serious, similar to when he first encountered Aimee; both had fainted due to choking on water. As long as the water was expelled, she should wake up. "Sorry about this!" Martin thought to himself as he glanced again at the long-haired girl's graceful body, then prepared to give her CPR. He crossed his hands, ready to place them on the long-haired girl's chest. "Cough, cough..." However, just as Martin's hands were about to descend, the long-haired girl started coughing violently. She spat out a large mouthful of seawater, and the long-haired girl awoke, slowly opening her eyes. "Where is this? Am I still alive?" The long-haired girl opened her eyes and looked at Martin, speaking her first words. Seeing the long-haired girl awake, Martin quickly withdrew his hands. "You're lucky, you're still alive!" Martin replied to the long-haired girl. "Did you save me?" the long-haired girl asked Martin, with a hint of wariness in her eyes. Then, the long-haired girl sat up, and upon noticing her white dress was wet and nearly transparent, a blush spread across her face. "I didn't save you; I just happened to find you on this beach," Martin shook his head. He was about to help, but she woke up before he could start. "What is this place?" the long-haired girl asked Martin again while surveying her surroundings. "You must be one of the people from the cruise ship incident, right? I am too. This is a deserted island!" Martin replied. "What? A deserted island?" The long-haired girl was visibly shocked by Martin's words, her expression mixed with a hint of despair. Martin saw the expression on the long-haired girl's face and remained silent. This reaction was quite normal; yesterday, when he and Aimee realized they were stranded on a deserted island, they experienced a similar shock. "Martin, come quickly and take a look," Aimee called out to Martin in a panicked tone. Martin hurried over, concerned about the urgency in Aimee's voice. The long-haired girl turned to Aimee, and seeing two other women besides Martin, her despair lessened significantly. "What's wrong?" Martin asked as he walked to Aimee's side. After glancing at the unconscious short-haired girl, his calm demeanor quickly turned somber. Aimee noticed the change in Martin's expression. She immediately sensed something unusual between Martin and the short-haired girl, sparking her curiosity. However, despite her curiosity, Aimee didn't ask further and quickly said to Martin, "I bandaged her wound as you instructed and also performed CPR, but she didn't wake up, and her breathing has become even weaker." Aimee described the condition of the short-haired girl in detail. Martin examined the short-haired girl's condition. Her face was pale and colorless, her whole body was extremely cold, and she was taking in more air than she was exhaling. Compared to the long-haired girl, the short-haired girl's condition was more severe, not only due to prolonged drowning but possibly also due to wound infection. "We could try artificial respiration," Martin suddenly suggested. Martin wasn't sure about the girl's specific condition; he wasn't a professional doctor. He knew some basic first aid methods, and if artificial respiration couldn't save her, he had no other options. "Artificial respiration?" Aimee raised her eyebrows and quickly said, "But I don't know how. Maybe you should do it." "I also..." Martin wanted to explain that it was his first time too. However, just as Martin began to speak, Aimee interrupted him by standing up, "The situation is urgent, you should give her artificial respiration quickly." Martin's face immediately showed his reluctance. Looking at the unconscious short-haired girl, Martin was even more unwilling. If it were any other girl, Martin would have no objections at all. The problem was that he didn't want to have any interaction with this short-haired girl. Especially considering the close contact involved in artificial respiration. "Alright, I'll sacrifice myself this once for the sake of saving a life," Martin reassured himself.
