“See, what you have done… I told you to never take her in, she didn’t deserve any kindness…
She is a witch, a jinx…”
Aunt Anna scolded me openly while accusing her husband’s decision of giving me shelter,
her words cut deep into my heart.
I looked at her wanting to refute her words, but my cheek was still burning with her slap.
And there was a sting in my throat, a sting of guilt.
Has all bad luck arrived in Daniel's life because of me?
“Shut your mouth !!” Uncle Frederick fumed in anger, “There must be a way to break this
spell and cure him… There must be something…” He muttered under his breath.
And my whole focus turned to him.
“You said the Zarrar Pack, right?” I questioned him to be sure and he nodded his head.
Zarrar pack is the only pack that contained some magical powers in their clan, it was said
that a man from the Arab City came to visit their pack, and when he found the Alpha
slaughtering innocent people and raping the women of the clan.
He slaughtered him right in front of his clan showing his power in front of his whole clan.
People then named their pack after him, Zarrar.
Although he didn’t stay to be their Alpha he blessed the new Alpha of the pack with his
magical powers to keep their clan stronger even after he would be gone from their lives.
It was said that each Alpha went through a religious Ceremony to acquire the magical
powers from the old Alpha.
And it was necessary for the old Alpha to hand over the powers to the future Alpha as soon as
he felt getting close to his death.
An Alpha could only be able to transfer his powers to another Alpha at the condition of being
alive, once the Alpha died out of their territory, the powers would eventually fade and would
go to the person who took away his life.
With the strong powers came precautions too.
Daniel was fond of the powers and the secrets laid in the Zarrar pack, as he and I would keep
searching for more information about the Zarrar pack and maybe that’s the reason why he
attacked the Alpha of the Zarrar pack in the first place to possess his powers.
It felt so dumb to think of this possibility, but what could I say?
After all, Daniel was obsessed with that clan and its hidden secretive powers.
“I think I know the cure…” I told Uncle Frederick after thinking for a while.
His gaze snapped at me instantly, “You do?” His brows raised in disbelief.
“I am not 100% sure, but for Daniel, I could give it a risk,” I told him and he flinched
slightly from the worry, he knew exactly what I was talking about.
“No, you can’t go there…” He raised his hand showing his disapproval but then Aunt Anna
held his arm firmly.
“Let her go, she is the one who cursed our son, now, it’s her time to prove her loyalty
towards us.” Aunt Anna’s words were a lack of emotions, but she was determined to send me
to the enemy’s pack to find the cure.
Uncle Frederick’s eyes were helpless when they met mine, “It will be fine…” I assured him,
and then taking a deep look at Daniel, I caressed his hair softly, “I will find your cure, my
Alpha.”
BOOM
With that, I turned to leave when Aunt Anna’s stern voice haltered my step, “Remember one
thing Seraphina, If you fail to find the cure, then you have to reject him as your mate. As long
as he is bound with you, he won’t be able to survive…
If not that wound, your curse will kill him surely.”
Her words made my heart sulk, and I and Daniel are getting apart.
No… No…
That can’t be happening, no…
I love him, he is my Alpha, and he loves me too.
I won’t let Aunt Anna use this thing to her benefit, I will surely find a cure and bring my
Alpha back to life.
I will succeed.
Without giving her any response, I hurriedly left the house and straight to the jungle.
I didn’t even realize that I was still in my nightgown with my appearance disheveled until I
reached the river and saw my reflection in it.
“Arghhh…”
I groaned, embarrassed, I am going into the enemy’s territory with such a tempting
appearance, how foolish I am?
I got deep into the woods and saw a wool shawl hanging from one of the trees. Sighing in
relief, I picked it up and wrapped my body carefully with it.
I looked around cautiously before running away on my tiptoes. Once my work is done, I will
return this shawl to the person it belonged to.
With Daniel’s obsession with the Zarrar pack, I know exactly where I am heading, the north
side of their territory which was covered with a sheen of the magical layers that any werewolf
from the other pack could not cross.
But as my wolf hasn’t come out yet, and I am still considered a human, so I can pass through
it.
With a small smile of hope, I appeared at the destination and stretched my hand to feel the
invisible magic layer.
Zzzz
The sensation told me it was there, and as I crossed my body slowly into that sacred area, I
felt goosebumps all over but Thankfully, I was able to cross it without making the other clan
alert.
HUSH
The cold wind hit my body as soon as I got into the sacred place which was filled with many
magical herbs.
My eyes widened in astonishment, I and Daniel had just read about these mysteries of the
way magical gardens appear to be, and the way herbs work.
But seeing the garden with my own eyes made me dumbfounded.
I watched the beautiful herbs swaying left to right with such glitter, as though they were
dancing in glee.
“Are you happy to see me?” I asked stupidly, my lips automatically curving into a smile.
I was close to losing the thought of why I had appeared or intruded on the Zarrar pack’s
sacred place.
Blinking my eyes, I refocused on the purpose for which I had appeared and then looked
around for the blue herb which was similar to the layer that was appearing around Daniel’s
wound.
After walking around for a while, finally, I finally found the exact color herb and rushed to get it.
“Ahh…”
My hand felt a bolting jerk when I touched the herb and it made my palm black in an instant.
My eyes stung from the pain but I needed the herb. So, I tried again.
“Ahh…”
I winced when the same current appeared on my palm making the tears fall from my eyes in
extreme pain.
I sniffed back my tears, thinking.
And then looked down to wipe my tears from the shawl when an idea hit my brain.
Yes !!
I pulled out the shawl and then picked up the herb with it. Thankfully this time no difficulty
occurred and safely the herb was plucked out from the ground.
“Yes…” I exclaimed in joy, collecting three of them, these would be enough to make an
antidote for Daniel’s wound.
With a triumphant smile, I walked towards the exit.
My foot had just touched the sheer existence of the magic layer when a roar behind me
startled me.
“STOP.”
who is it?
