Ang Malungkot Na Hari

Episode 3: Cold

“I love you, Marco.”

“Please p-promise me something.”

“Promise me that you will love your second chance m-mate.”

I woke up with a gasp at pawis ang umaagos sa katawan ko. Tears formed in my eyes. It was not a dream, it is a memory that has been always carved in my heart and my mind. My beautiful Elizabeth, my one and only true love. How could she let me promise na magmamahal ako ng iba? Siya lang ang mahal and I can’t love anyone else.

Napahawak ako sa buhok ko and I threw the glass on the wall and it shattered into pieces just like my heart right now. Sobrang pag naalala ko siya. I always remember her everyday, lahat ng bagay na naalala ko sa kanya. Everytime we ran together in the river. I can still feel her soft lips lingering into mine. Miss na miss ko na siya. She is my Lizzy and I will always love her.

“I’m sorry that I can’t keep my promise, Lizzy.” I whispered painfully. I glance at the moon and howl in pain. I know that everyone will hear this howl but they are used to it now. Everytime I am heartbroken, I always howl when my heart is longing for her, especially at night.

I stood up and wiped my tears away and something is pushing me to go inside that girl’s room. I went to her room at binuksan ang kanyang pinto. The full moon is making her visible to me. She is curled up in the ball in her bed without a blanket. My wolf wants me to touch her but I can’t. I can’t do this to Elizabeth.

I heard the girl sobbed silently at tinignan ko siya. I think she is having a nightmare. My wolf is pushing me to touch her and I sat on the bed while glancing at her face. She is a tiny person, walang kalaman laman ang katawan niya at malnourished. That is why inutusan ko si Laura na dalhan siya palagi ng pagkain but that was my wolf who wants me to do these things.

I hate this girl in front of me, nalaman na ni Amara ang tungkol sa amin. And this is all this girl’s fault. Hindi ko nga alam ang pangalan niya and I am not planning to seek her name. It is better that way. Agad akong tumayo at lumabas at hinayaan siyang umiyak dahil sa panaginip niya. I went back into my room at humiga sa kama. My heart is aching at tinignan ko ang picture namin ni Lizzy noon. We look so happy, we were in love and carefree.

Everyone adored her because she is so kind to everyone and that’s why I fell in love with her hard. But the moon goddess took her away from me kaya hinding hindi ko matatanggap ang second chance mate na binigay niya. Sa tingin niya ba okay lang ka kunin ang pinakamamahal ko sa buhay at tsaka palitan? I will never give in.

I hate the moon goddess so much and I will defy her as long as I live. Hindi ko susundin ang mga utos niya dahil hindi niya deserve na masunod. I will make this girl’s life a living hell para mas lalong magalit sa akin ang moon goddess. Everyone is afraid of her but not me, she may have given this title to me but I don’t even care about me being a king without Elizabeth beside me.

I only want Elizabeth and I am willing to give up everything just for her to be back in my arms. I sigh sadly while closing my eyes. I clutched my heart as it ached again, thinking about my beautiful mate who is not by my side anymore. I need her beside me. I miss her so much. I can’t function well without her.

I can still hear her soft giggles and how she cuddles with me.

“Miss na miss na kita, Lizzy.” I whispered painfully and howled.

Ysabella’s POV

Nagising ako dahil sa sinag ng araw, dahan dahan akong bumangon at narealize ko ang lahat na nangyari. I sigh sadly. Nakarinig ako ng katok sa pinto at nakita ko si Laura na binuksan ang pinto.

“Gusto ka raw makausap ng mahal na hari,” Sabi niya and my eyes widened. Bakit gusto niya akong makausap? May problema kaya? Papagalitan niya ba ako? Bakit gusto niya akong makausap? Iba ang nararamdaman ko ngayon.

I nodded my head at agad akong nagbihis and I looked at my body sadly, wala pa ring pinagbago, bumalik na naman ako sa pagiging malnourished. Siguro dahil sa sakit na nararamdaman ko ngayon. Sobrang sakit na ng ginagawa sa akin ni Marco. He doesn’t treat me like a mate.

Sinundan ko na si Laura sa labas habang kinakabahan ako kung ano ang mangyayari ngayon. Hindi ko alam kung bakit niya ako pinatawag ngayon.

Nang makapunta na kami sa isang room na sobrang laki. I saw him wearing a golden robe while sitting on the throne while drinking some wine. Napakagat labi naman ako at pinagmasdan ang mate ko. My wolf wanted to get out and shift and claim him but I stopped her. He looks so handsome as always. His hair is kind of messy.

Napatingin siya sa akin and his eyes darkened with anger. “Lumapit ka,” Malamig na sabi niya at kinakabahan akong lumapit sa kanya. Nakayuko lang ako habang lumalapit sa kanya. Nang makalapit na ako I heard his beautiful voice.

“Look at me,” He said coldly at tinignan ko siya. “You will clean and become a servant starting now.” Sabi niya and I nodded my head. Gusto niya akong maging katulong dito and I can’t do anything about it. My mate is supposed to marry me pero ngayon, ginawa niya akong isang katulog.

“O-Opo,” I stuttered.

“Pathetic,” He said bitterly and tears formed in my eyes. “Bow to me, I am your king.” Galit na sabi niya and I nodded my head and bowed my head. “And now, Kneel.” Sabi niya at dahan dahan akong lumuhod sa harap niya while my knees are shaking.

“You are not my equal. My only equal is my only mate, Elizabeth and you will never be her! Naiintindihan mo ba?” Galit na tanong niya and I sobbed silently and nodded my head.

“Now go back to your room and Laura will teach you sa lahat ng gagawin.” He said coldly at dahan dahan akong tumayo but I fell down on the floor and I winced in pain. I heard a low growl coming from him kaya agad akong tumayo at nagmamadaling lumabas. I ran towards my room at agad na humiga sa kama while sobbing silently. My heart isa aching so much and I feel so worthless.

Pakiramdam ko wala akong kwenta. I just want a mate that will save me pero iba ang natanggap ko. Why does the moon goddess hate me so much? Bakit pa siya ang binigay niya sa akin? What did I ever do to deserve this kind of pain?
