Chapter Eleven
I picked up everything I thought I was going to need and was ready to start cooking when I got home from work. I almost went ahead without her, but I wanted to cook with Ginny. It had been far too long since I’d shared a kitchen with someone, and cooking with her the first time made me crave that connection again.
I grabbed a beer and sat out on the lanai, trying to see the ocean. I loved my house, but I would have preferred something closer to the water. That was far outside my budget, so I got what I could. After Jane’s spending sprees, I was lucky I could afford anything.
I finished my beer and was enjoying the last moments of sunshine on my face when Ginny knocked on the door. I let her in with a grin, loving that she went up on her tiptoes to kiss me as she walked in
