Christy was tired and browbeat. She looked at Dave. " Hey, how are there many customers today ? You did something shady didn't you ?" Dave smiled "you should be happy there are more customers . You get paid more" Christy pressed her shoulder." What time is it ?" " Past 7" Her eyes widened" really ?" She brought out her phone to confirm what he said and a message from Anna. She sighed and as she opened it, Her heart dropped. "Hey, I have to go " she said hurriedly to Dave and rushed out. "But your pay..." But she was long gone . She ran and stopped as she saw a taxi. She signalled for it and it stopped . She hopped in and told the driver where she was headed too. Her hands kept on shaking. She was being reminded of her parent's accident once more. She shook her head . She brought out her phone to call Anna but no response. Tears rolled down her cheeks. She can't loose her grandma. She remembered when she told her grandma that she had to live long and her grandma said she would live long to walk her down the aisle. You can't just go like this , Grandma. Keep your promise. She thought. The taxi stopped and Christy rushed out of it and ran into the hospital. She looked around for her sister or Grandpa. She called Anna's phone once more. " Hello " " Hey!!" Christy shouted sobbing" why didn't you pick up since? Where are you ?" " I'll come to you " The line went beep. Christy sobbed and fell down on a chair " Grandma..." Suddenly she felt someone embrace her. Her small figure made her realize it was Anna " you can cry " Christy clinged onto her sister and sobbed ." It's so unfair " Grandpa who was standing by watching them wiped his tears before approaching them ." Let's go " The three went to Grandma's room . Christy started shaking as she saw her Grandma on many life support devices. She turned to grandpa" why are there so many ? What is wrong with Grandma?" Grandpa sighed" First, can you take Anna home ? She's been here since . She didn't go to school " " Grandpa, answer me !!!"Christy shouted frustrated. Christy dropped Anna home and headed to the store when she remembered she left her bag there. As she headed back to the store , she walked slowly as she replayed what Grandpa had told her in her head. " Grandma has brain hemorrhage. She must have been worried about you doing all the work yourself which lead her to have high blood pressure resulting to it " Christy had sighed " what about cure? Can it be cured ?" Grandpa cried " it can't " Christy fell down but was caught by someone. It was Adrian . " I told you to pick your calls, didn't I ?" He asked with her bag in her hand " I got this before the manager could lock the store " Christy looked at him . Adrian was shocked" were you crying? Are you alright?" Christy took her bag from him" thank you for my bag but I would really like to be alone right now " As she walked away from him, he held her back " then atleast let me give you a ride home . Please " Christy entered Adrian's car and wiped her face. She must look like a mess right now. She thought but that doesn't matter. When the car halted, she looked up and saw that they were Infront of the ocean. "Hey, weren't you taking me home ?" She asked. Adrian unbuckled his seat belt " come down " They both climbed out of the car. Adrian stretched out his hand to her " give me " She looked at him in confusion" what?" He sighed and did as if he took something from her and threw it into the ocean " there. I just threw away your problem. How do you feel ?" Christy smiled despite herself but then her mind shifted to her grandma and tears slowly rolled down her cheeks " what do I do now ?what's going to happen to my poor grandma?" Adrian placed his hands on her cheeks and brushed off her tears slowly " did I tell you my mom was sick ?" Christy nodded her head " yes" "My mom being sick has taught me one thing. There's nothing you can do for a sick person except being with them when they need you and that's all you can do for your grandma" he wiped her tears " don't cry . I'm sure your grandma would want you to stay strong" Christy nodded her head and wiped off her tears" you are right. Grandma wouldn't want me to cry " "Can I..hug you ?" Adrian asked Christy nodded her head and Adrian wrapped his arms around her. "It's okay " he said patting her back " Everything is going to be fine " They got back into the car and he dropped her home. Christy unbuckled her seat belt " thank you for everything . Get home safely" She got down from the car and watched Adrian drive off before she went in . She sighed as she saw the couch grandma usually sits on. Grandma would have been reading a newspaper right now and be like " you are home. How was work ? Anna is inside so don't beat her up too much today , okay ?" That was what grandma would have said. But she wasn't here. She smiled as she looked away from the couch and went to her room . She saw Anna on the ground with lots of paper squeezed on the floor. "Anna, what's all this ?" Anna kept in doing what she was doing. " Hey!" Christy shouted and walked towards Anna and took what she was writting from her. "Give that back to me " Anna shouted trying to take it back from Christy but Christy held the paper far from her grip and read the content. "Are you insane ? You are going to drop out ?" Christy asked " Hmm, someone needs to watch over grandma-" "And I'll do that " " You are already busy with work and trying to make money for the family and -" "And that's what I'm meant to do . You just go to school " "I'm not going until grandma wakes up !" " So what ? You want to be uneducated like me , is that it ? " She couldn't believe Anna was saying this. She'd giving up going to school for Anna. No way is she going to allow Anna end up like her. "Think it however you want but I've made up my mind "Anna said and went into the bathroom. Christy knocked on the bathroom door" Anna, come out. Let's talk about this , huh? Do you really think grandma would want you to drop out of school and why .."Christy voice started shaking " why are you talking as if she's never going to wake up again? why!!!!! " "Christy,no one wants me at school. Everyone sees me as a bully or someone who wasn't raised by her parents so why should I be in a place I don't want to be instead of being with Grandma ? " " You think that's the worst of it ?" Christy asked with tears streaming down her cheeks " wait till you drop out then everyone will see you as someone who was a bully, wasn't raised by her parents, couldn't finish school and uneducated . You will just be making things worse for yourself"Christy wiped her tears " grandma will pull through so till then , let's hold on . Huh ?" Anna opened the door and came out of the bathroom and hugged Christy. The two girls cried as they hugged eachother. She told her sister the same words Adrian told her that gave her comfort " it's okay. Everything is going to be fine " ***
