Chapter 11

Asteria Celeste Averix Levington POV I arose early and stealthily vacated the bed, taking care not to disturb her. Packing my suitcase with the clothes I'd set out, I opened the door slowly, ensuring silence. Leaving the letter I'd penned by the lamp, I included only necessary information. Descending the stairs on tiptoe, I aimed to avoid awakening her. Outside, I proceeded directly to my car, where I began preparations. I drove cautiously, mindful of the doctor's advice to exercise care. You might be curious about my destination now. I've confided everything in Cyra, and she's ready to embrace me into their circle. While with them, I'll also scout for a new place to settle—somewhere distant from here, far from her. Upon reaching Cyra's residence, I left the suitcase in my car. Approaching the door, I rang the bell and waited for her response. "Hello, bestie, please come in," Cyra welcomed me with a smile as she opened the door. It had been a few days since I had begun residing at Cyra's house. Only Cyra and Yusei were privy to my presence here, as I had requested they keep it confidential from everyone else. I prefer they remain unaware, and I'm not prepared yet. Even if I don't see Kian anymore, it's fine. Perhaps she's even happier now that there are no obstacles in her life. Kian Calen Levington POV "What have you discovered?" I inquired of my private investigator. I've been feeling anxious and restless, going back and forth. Esteria has been missing for several days. I also discovered that she was pregnant. I disguised myself as my wife to gain more information. That's when I learned about our future child. "Not yet, ma'am. However, I will continue my efforts to locate her," the private investigator assured me. "It's expected since I'm paying you," I muttered as I dropped my cellphone onto my desk in the office. What could have Esteria been thinking to suddenly leave like this? Why didn't she mention that we were about to have a baby? Suddenly, I recalled what I had said to Kate the other day. "Could she have heard that?" Is that why her eyes are swollen, because she did hear it? I only said that so Kate would prevent me from asking when I would break up with Esteria. Moreover, I have no intention of breaking up with Esteria. I already have feelings for her. What poison is within me that I would let go? But you've been a huge jerk, Kian Calen. Do you really think she won't be hurt if she finds out you're with another woman? I only used Kate. I get jealous when Esteria is with that stupid Sorin. So, I thought of making her jealous too. But it only made things worse. I'm so frustrated. Why am I still hurting her? I'm really foolish. I'm such a jerk. Even Tito and Tita don't know where Esteria is. Who else can she turn to? Her friend, Yes, Cyra might be the solution. I quickly left the office and got into my car, heading to see Cyra. Asteria Celeste Averix Levington POV When the doorbell rang, Cyra and I immediately stood up from our seats and exchanged glances. "Hide now," I entered the guest room and positioned myself behind the door. "Oh, Kian, what do you need?" I heard Cyra said. Kian? "Cyra, do you know where Estria is?" Kian asked, her concern evident. Maybe she's just considering finding me to avoid losing her inheritance and to prevent Mommy and Daddy from getting mad at her. "Why is Asteria missing?" She acted as if she didn't know what was going on. I'm a bad influence, making Cyra lie because of me. "Yes, she's been missing for a few days. I've searched everywhere for her, but still can't find her," I heard her say. Cyra Smith POV It's obvious that Kian is worried about Asteria. "Why are you so worried about her?" "She's my wife, Cyra, and she's pregnant," Kian answered. I could also see the sadness in her eyes. It seems like she's weary of what's happening. I gave her a thumbs up. "Is that your only reason?" I inquired further. She pulled at her hair in frustration. "Because I love her," she admitted. I chuckled slightly. "You love her? Oh, Kian, if you truly love her, you wouldn't hurt her," Cyra exclaimed. "I know I made a mistake. But I want to make things right. But how can I fix my mistakes if she's already left me? If I can't be with her anymore," she said, frustrated. I don't know what to do. I led her outside, bringing her here so Asteria wouldn't overhear our conversation. I turned to face Kian. "I also want my best friend to be happy, so I'll tell you where she is," i said, her eyes suddenly sparkling with determination. "Do you know where Asteria is?" She asked eagerly. "Yes, I'll tell you where she is, but on one condition," "What is it?" "Don't ever hurt my best friend. If you truly hurt her, I won't help you anymore. Take care of your own life," i declared firmly, emphasizing the importance of treating Asteria well. "I promise," She replied, raising her right hand in agreement. "One more thing" "What is it?" She asked eagerly. "Don't tell Asteria that I told you where she is," i said, nodding in agreement. I could be in big trouble. Kian Calen Levington POV "Asteria is here with us," Cyra said, i relieved and happy to hear the news. "Wait, Kian, give her some space first," Cyra advised. "I'll let her know you're here." She then went inside to inform Asteria. Meanwhile, I went to the car and got it ready. I was already in the office when Uncle Zander came to see me. Uncle Zander - Asteria's father "Do you have any news on where my daughter is?" Uncle asked me anxiously. I nodded in response. "I have." "Then where is my daughter, and why aren't you with her yet?" Uncle inquired, a mix of concern and impatience in his voice. I smiled reassuringly at Uncle. "I know where she is, and I want to give her the space she needs for a while," I promised, hoping to ease his worries. "But I promise that by the end of this week, she will come back to me with our child, who is still being nursed by her," I continued, noticing him eyes widening in surprise. "Is my daughter pregnant?" Uncle asked, his tone filled with concern and confusion. "Yes, something has happened between us," i admitted, a smile forming on my lips. "Take care of my daughter, Kian. I trust you, and don't waste it," Uncle said, tapping my shoulder before standing up and leaving the room. I simply nodded in response, feeling the weight of his trust on my shoulders. "I'm heading out first," Uncle said as he bid farewell. I turned my swivel chair around to face the desk, contemplating the task ahead. "When you come back to me, Esteria, I'll never let you go," I whispered to myself, taking Esteria's picture from my wallet and staring at it, filled with longing and determination. "If only you knew how sorry I am for what I did to you, Esteria. I love you so much," I whispered, kissing her picture gently before tucking my wallet back into my suit pocket. Taking a deep breath, I focused on my work, determined to make things right and earn her forgiveness. Asteria Celeste Averix Levington POV "What did you two talk about?" I asked Cyra as we sat down for dinner. "Nothing," she shrugged in response. "You know Kian is worried about you," she began. "Are you fooling me?" I asked laughing. "Psh. It's up to you" After eating, I pleaded and drank some milk. I also need to sleep early for the health of Baby and myself. I'm going to get a checkup tomorrow. Time to hit the hay now. Little did I know, my wife kissed my picture before drifting off to sleep, thinking of me.
