“That was an intense moment,” the doctor said, looking at me.
“What is that supposed to mean?” I snarled at him. I knew exactly what he was implying. I was not going to let him say anything, however.
“Nothing,” the doctor said, shaking his head.
“What?” I snapped at him.
“I worry, how long you can deny your wolf?” the doctor said, and I could tell that Winifred wanted to listen in, and she was notoriously the town gossip. There was no way that I could let anyone find out the truth, even if I still refused to believe that it was the truth. It was insane for me to even pretend to believe. I was the Alpha. She was just a human. I could never let the town have a human as a Luna.
“I am not denying my wolf.”
“Where is your mate then?” he asked me just as Winifred walked up to us.
“Is there anything else I can get for you?” Winifred asked.
“No,” I growled.
“Alright,” she said, trying to give me a smile. “You can stay as long as you want, my Alpha.” She walked away from us. She looked dejected as I growled at her.
“I have work to do back at the packhouse.”
