Since after that whole thing with Oliva, I had been at my desk. I wanted that human out of my head. I was going to do whatever it took. She needed to get out of my head. So, I tried to work. I did everything I could do to work. I tried to write a few letters, which only lasted seven ripped-up letters, on the floor. The best letter got to line seven. I tried setting up a guard rotation, but that only got to the third try. I tried to make phone calls, but I couldn’t even finish dialing the numbers. The only thing that kept coming back to my mind was her. That human. She was a problem. I needed her off my territory. I needed her out of my mind. I needed her away from my wolf.
I had been trying to work for about three hours when suddenly my wolf was growling and howling. It was trying to leap out of my chest, and I didn’t know what was going on. All I knew was that I had to find a way to calm it down. I needed to find a way to shut it up. I grabbed for the alcohol, but then something stopped me.
I had an idea of what was going on or at least who was causing it. I didn’t want to be right. I felt like I couldn’t be right. She was just a human. I still had to make the call.
I called Matheus. “She’s talking to my brother.”
“About?” I growled.
“Nothing really.”
“What are they talking about?” I growled at him.
“They are talking about how she is a hero.”
“That’s it?” I growled even louder.
“Yeah, that and how much longer the human’s car is going to take to get fixed.”
“I want him away from her,” I growled the loudest that I have ever growled.
There was a pause, and I was sure he wanted to ask me why, but he knew better. “Yes, sir.”
