Mr.Jude Smith's News

1540 Words
As Ava was getting ready to sleep, she couldn't stop thinking about meeting with Sam in the library. She was surprised to see him there and couldn't help but notice how much he looked like Jude, his brother. The two brothers were very different in their personalities, with Jude being aloof and mysterious, while Sam was warm and friendly. This contrast intrigued Ava, and she wondered how two brothers could be so different. Ava remembered how Sam had started a conversation with her and showed genuine interest in her life, which was a refreshing change from Jude's coldness. After Jude took Sam away, Ava was left alone again. As she closed the third book and went to sleep in her room, she couldn't help but wonder about the events of the day and then she drifted off. Startled awake by a sudden jolt, she moved to the sink to splash her face with water. Wrapping herself in her cozy flannel, she quietly slipped out of her room, the soft glow of moonlight guiding her through the dimly lit corridors of the mansion. The allure of a late-night snack beckoned to her, and Ava made her way to the kitchen, her footsteps echoing softly in the silent house. As she opened the fridge, her eyes fell upon a tempting sight – a bucket of ice cream nestled amidst the shelves. With a smile of delight, Ava abandoned her original plan for a drink and settled onto a stool, spoon in hand, as she indulged in the creamy treat. "Mmm, this is so tasty," Ava murmured, her voice a soft sigh of contentment as she savored another spoonful of ice cream. While she took another spoon, Ava absentmindedly scrolled through her phone, her thoughts drifting to the events of the day and the. But as she turned to her right, a sudden movement caught her off guard, causing her to let out a startled sound and drop her spoon with a clatter. Her heart racing, Ava froze in place, her eyes widening in surprise as she realized that it was Jude standing before her, his presence unexpected yet undeniably captivating. With his wet hair tousled and a cat cradled in his arms, he cut a striking figure in the dimly lit kitchen, his features softened by the gentle glow of moonlight filtering through the windows. For a moment, Ava found herself unable to tear her gaze away from him, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment at her unguarded reaction. She quickly averted her gaze, her heart racing as she tried to act calm. Pretending to be absorbed in her phone, she kept a watchful eye on Jude, who had just dropped a small creature on the floor. As Jude approached her, Ava felt a sudden rush of heat flood her senses, making her forget the ice cream in her hand and the phone in her lap. His presence alone seemed to command her full attention, igniting a fire within her that she couldn't ignore. Gently, Jude pulled her out of her seat, his hands wrapping around her waist with a reassuring warmth that sent shivers down her spine. Despite her efforts to remain composed, Ava couldn't help but quiver with anticipation as she watched him lean in closer, his touch sending electrifying sensations coursing through her veins. With a tender gesture, he tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear, his touch leaving her breathless and wanting more. It was the first time they had been this close since their wedding day, and Ava found herself savoring every moment, lost in the intoxicating sensation of his touch. Yet, amidst the whirlwind of emotions, a nagging voice in the back of Ava's mind reminded her that it was too soon for such intimacy. She knew she shouldn't feel this way, shouldn't be melting against him like this. "You look incredible," Jude murmured, his voice barely above a whisper, as he turned his attention back to her. Ava's heart skipped a beat at his words, her cheeks flushing with a mixture of pleasure and unease. But as she caught a faint whiff of alcohol on his breath, Ava's heart sank. It was a stark reminder that he couldn't stand her and she didn't expect much from him but this was the height of it all. In that moment, Ava couldn't help but feel a pang of heartbreak, the realization dawning on her that perhaps Jude's words were not spoken from a place of genuine emotion, but rather clouded by intoxication. "Let go of me, you son of a gun," Ava spat, her voice trembling with a mix of anger and hurt, as she pushed Jude away. Snatching her phone from the table, she hurried off, her heart heavy with disappointment and betrayal. Jude watched her retreating figure with a stoic expression, his features betraying nothing of the emotions swirling within him. With a nonchalant shrug of his shoulders, he turned away, his attention shifting to his cat as he picked it up, seemingly unfazed by Ava's departure. Ava hurried to her room and cried uncontrollably while sitting on her bed. She covered her face with her hands and felt overwhelmed by her emotions. Overcome with sadness, she cried herself to sleep struggling with the disappointment of what had happened. **** Ava came out her room 5 days after the event that occured in the Kitchen that made her cry herself to sleep almost every night. She had eaten in her room and never came out. She just ordered Freda around for whatever she needed. Today, she had made up her mind to confront him and know his intentions. If he didn't want her he should just tell her. She was going to get a divorce anyway but for how long was she going to go through this? She had freshened up before coming out and told Freda that she was going to eat in the dining. Entering the kitchen, she found plate of waffles and eggs which she ate immediately and with a speed. With her stomach finally satisfied, Ava made her way down the hallway towards Jude's study, her footsteps echoing softly against the polished floor. As she approached the door, she hesitated for a moment, her hand poised to knock. Taking a deep breath to steady her nerves, she rapped her knuckles against the solid wood, the sound reverberating through the quiet corridor. Now, all she could do was wait for Jude's response, her heart pounding in anticipation of what was to come. "Come In" His deep voice said from inside. She opened the door and stepped inside. Jude was sitted at the far corner and had his glasses on. Ava stood in the doorway, hesitating for a moment before gathering the courage to speak. The room was dimly lit, with the soft glow of the desk lamp casting long shadows across the walls. Jude sat at his desk, bathed in the warm light, his face partially obscured by the reflection of his laptop screen. As Ava entered, she felt a rush of nerves wash over her, her heart pounding in her chest. She cleared her throat, trying to steady her voice as she addressed Jude. His eyes, framed by his glasses, flickered up from the screen, meeting hers with an unreadable expression. "Uhm, Jude, we need to talk," Ava began, her voice barely above a whisper. Her fingers toyed nervously with the hem of her shirt as she struggled to find the right words. "About that night in the kitchen." Jude's gaze remained fixed on her, his expression impassive as he waited for her to continue. Ava swallowed hard, the weight of her words heavy on her tongue. "You seemed... drunk," she continued, her voice trembling slightly. "And it hurt me. I know we don't love each other, but can you at least try to treat me with some respect?" Jude's response was curt, his voice devoid of any emotion as he simply replied, "Okay." With that, he turned his attention back to his laptop, the conversation seemingly over as quickly as it had begun. "That's all you have to say, Wow. That's alright" Ava said as she nodded her head in amazement. He didn't respond. "Did you think I wanted to get married to you in the first place? You can go to hell for all I care, I'm done with this s**t," Ava said, her voice trembling with suppressed tears as she stood tall. With her head high she then proceeded to leave. "Don't move," Jude's voice, low and commanding, echoed from the corner of the room where he sat. Ava remained motionless, her heart pounding in her chest. "Come here," he continued in a tone that never failed to send shivers down Ava's spine and to her core, demanding her attention. "You have to sit down," Jude said, his voice calm yet commanding as he gestured to a chair in front of him, one that Ava hadn't noticed before. Slowly, she lowered herself into the seat, her heart pounding with a mixture of curiosity and apprehension. "I have to tell you... I do not have much time to live," Jude continued, his words hanging heavily in the air.
