The silence that followed was thick, pressing down on the room like a weighted blanket.
I leaned back slightly, letting my gaze sweep over the council members, watching their reactions. Some shifted uncomfortably in their seats, while others looked anywhere but at Kieran.
“Does anybody have anything to say about the evidence brought against Kieran Silvester?” My voice rang through the chamber, smooth but firm.
No one dared to respond. Even my father, Dante, who had been barking like a rabid dog moments ago, kept his mouth shut. From the looks of it he didn't expect one of his major supporter Nathan would end up like that but the truth is that he doesn't even care about How Nathan ended. Be was now just a useless chess piece who couldn't help get his boy out of trouble.
