Memories of her time at the Assembly space station were vivid in Wilder’s mind as she traveled through the umbilicus that led to the aliens’ ship. Quinn had told her the species she was about to meet performed the role of the organizers of the space station, and that Kes had named them Immani giganticus.
She didn’t need reminding of the size of the alien ‘organizers’ she’d seen at the station—she recalled that one of the individuals she’d seen had measured about seven meters tall. They were quadrupeds and their legs made up half their immense height. Their upper half formed a dome, but due to the EVA suits they’d worn, Wilder hadn’t been able to see their eyes or mouth(s) or any other part of their faces, assuming they had faces.
