Dorinda I sighed, ending my call with Rose. By the sound of things she wasn't coming out tonight. I got up off the couch and headed for my room in the lush condo. Not knowing if Milla was home or gone as I passed her door. I rolled my eyes continuing to my room. Shaking my head, I entered the room trying to clear my thoughts and focus. Tonight, there was a big event at the club and I spent all day getting things in order. Turning on my old school jams, I started pulling out my outfit for tonight. Of course I had a Rosae' original. A short black dress, sheer all over except for the sexy pattern that adored the front. The back was solid and little studs decorated the front as well. I had my simple peep toe Chanel's and my diamond earrings to pair with it. Satisfied, I hopped into the shower careful not to wet my hair. The CEO of BroadWater industries was coming through tonight. His name was Greyson Lawton and he owned the hottest club technology. I'm talking flat screen fish tanks floors, Color changing tables, and so much more. I heard through the grape vine, that he was looking for a club to endorse as the face of his most lavish products and I was gonna land this deal for Good Vibrations. "Speak it into existence." I said to myself, as I washed away all negative thoughts. This past year was hard for me. Going through domestic violence and with a married man at that. I felt beyond ashamed of myself. However, I was gonna take that shame and turn it into courage somehow. Being kidn*pped, did not help at all either. I thought my life was over and the only thing I regretted, was not being all that I could be. Then ShaMilla came. I was shocked to see a WOMAN, change the odds of a dangerous situation. She didn't need anyone and she thrived on her own. I was envious of that and I wanted it for myself. I stayed with her for awhile afterwards. I was terrified to be alone and she was kind enough to offer comfort. Inviting me into her home and practically giving me the club. She pushed me and made me want more for myself. I decided to stay and split the rent, because I needed a new space and new vibes. Milla didn't mind, even though the rent wasn't an issue for her. I relaxed in the shower, thinking back to the night of my opening. ******************** "I'll be back" I told Rose, leaving before she could respond. I dashed through the crowd, looking for red hair. I spoke to those I knew as everyone tried to get my attention. I thanked everyone being professionally polite. Finally I spotted her at the bar, lounging over as she stood sipping some brown. "I'll have what she's having!" I ordered strutting up, as she looked over to me. My bartender nodded bringing me some henny on the rocks. I tipped him, taking my seat and gulping it down. "Slow down, your my DD." laughed Milla moving close not to shout. "It's my night." I teased, taking her glass and killing it. She watched me then held up a hand. "Enjoy yourself." She shrugged, ordering another drink. We got quiet, watching the people around us dance and interact. I looked over to her, but she paid me no mind. I felt awkward for no reason. I just wanted her to smile and laugh with me. She was the one who helped me get here. Leaning over to whisper in her ear. "thank you" I breathed, as she turned leaving our faces inches away from each other. She eyed me but nodded. "You can handle it." she stated dryly, finishing her drink. My face dropped as I turned to leave. Milla grabbed my hand. "lets dance." she demanded, leading me to the floor. I felt the alcohol now, as the music pulsed through the speakers. Same old mistakes by Rihanna had me feeling some type of way. I rode the beat on the dance floor. Milla danced with me twirling me around as she moved smooth and slow. Riding the rhythm too. Our bodies pressed together as the beat dropped. I danced letting lose for the first time in awhile. I felt free and safe with her. The crowd gave me room as I whined my hips, tossing my hair as I danced slow and sexy. I had all eyes on me as the crowd caught my vibe. I smiled real sexy, as I winked dropping low and whining back up. Milla gave me space as I popped my a*s, getting into it more. She was obviously a good dancer. Moving real subtle but seductively. I watched her as she caught my eye, giving me her carefree smile that I didn't see often. I returned her smile, feeling hands slide around my waist. There was a tall hansom man behind me trying to dance with me. I smiled up at him, shaking my head as I stepped away, turning back to Milla. But she was gone. *********************** I shrugged off the memory. Since then, things were regular at first. Conversation here and there with laughter that sometimes followed. She would even give me advice, but let me know that it was my own decision. I found a genuine friend in her, and I didn't understand why Rose couldn't. Everyone has a past and ShaMilla's past helped her save my life. I respected her for that, but these past months, she's been real anti out of no where. I turned the water off stepping out. I toweled off, and lotion-ed my body before going to do my make-up. I paused, thinking I heard something. Turning off my music and wrapping my silk robe around my body, I eased out into the hall slightly and most definitely heard movement. Walking forward, I entered the spacious living room, to see ShaMilla coming from the kitchen. She made herself a sandwich and went to lay across the couch. Grabbing the remote, the tv opened on the wall as she pressed power and got comfortable with her plate. Not even noticing, or acknowledging me. Now a days we barley talked. She was always gone or coming in extra late and I was on nightclub hours. It's like one minute she f****d with me hard and Now im just a roommate. Damn near a stranger, even after a year of living together. I sighed out loud as her eyes darted towards me before resting back on the tv. She wore a black spaghetti shirt and cut up jeans. Must have worn sneakers today, since I saw some all black shell toe Adidas by the door. "Sup." she spoke finally as I stood there. "Hey." I answered her, walking over and sitting across from her on the smaller couch. "Where you coming from?" I asked curious and trying to make conversation. It was only 8:00 and I had two hours to get to the club. "Outside." she answered me with all seriousness, before biting her sandwich. Her attention still on the screen. I rolled my eyes. "Any place in particular?" I pressed on, getting annoyed. She looked at me for a second, before turning to face me, putting her plate down. "Wassup? you wanna talk or something." she said flat out staring at me. "What?" I questioned, giving her a dumb look. "You see me trying to enjoy myself and yet you still trying to make conversation." she reasoned. I threw my hands up and sucked my teeth. "Well excuse me for trying to actually talk to the person I've been living with for the past year." I huffed getting upset. "I barely even know when your here. I mean you don't even come to the club anymore. Are you avoiding me?" I stressed, flipping it all on her. She listened to me calmly not really showing emotions. "You done now?" she asked, reaching for the remote. "f**k you ShaMilla!" I spat, as I got up to leave her a*s alone. I slammed the door to my bedroom, furious for no reason. I don't know why she's so cold. I've never been pressed for a friend but she did a whole 180 on me. I palmed my face going to my vanity. Looking in the mirror, I looked flustered. I teased my hair out trying to think of what to do next. ShaMilla really f****d up my mood. Turning my music back on, I started my make up singing to my girls swv. I finished my flawless beat in no time, making myself feel a little better. Deciding not to do too much, I let my hair stay simple giving it some sheen and bounce, but keeping it tousled to the side. I got dressed and lightly sprayed myself with perfume. Grabbing my my keys and phone I headed out. It was about 9:45 now and ShaMilla was no longer in the living room. I left without a second thought locking the door behind me. My black Audi sat nicely where I left her. I slid my hand across the hood, getting inside I buckled up and pulled off. I made it to the club just as the clock showed 10. Pulling up to the doors, The bouncer walked up opening my doors. I didn't have a valet but this was how I always arrived. Vince, helped me out, taking my keys as he got in to park my car around back. I nodded at Jaxson as he opened the VIP doors for me. I looked to my right, seeing the line beginning to wrap around the corner. I had two separate entrances, so that my VIP's never had to wait or squeeze through the line. I didn't allow bribes at all. My business would be respected and if you cannot get in, then thats on you. Jaxon and Vincent were cousins and had a huge reputation as Bodyguards. I felt family would work better together so I also hired Juniper, Jaxon's little sister as an assistant. Making my way inside, I weaved through the crowd, heading for my office. My club was packed per usual, which made me extremely happy. I really didn't have to be here, since Juni could run the club just as well as Me, without my presence to oversee things. Sometimes, I would prep in the day and let her handle the club at night, but this deal was just too important for me to stay home in my feelings. Once inside my office, I went to my bar to make me a drink. I took my seat behind the desk, crossing my legs and watching the door. After about 20 minutes, there was a knock at my door. "Come In." I spoke calmly as Vince walked Greyson in. I stood to greet him as he came in. His eyes went big, just a tad, watching me switch. I only smiled, ignoring how that made me feel, with his eyes roaming over me. We shook hands before taking our seats. "It's nice to finally get down to business." Greyson began, as his deep voice stroked each word. I shivered, he really creeped me out. He was a tall man, very much built with dark eyes and a twisted grin. Wearing an impeccable Armani suit, navy blue and a blinding Rolex on his wrist. I ignored my thoughts, nodding and leaning forward resting my arms on the desk, folding my fingers under my chin. "Indeed Greyson, so why don't we begin." I urged, feeling the club booming music under us. He smiled and nodded. "As agreed, you will receive all the top of the line merchandise and technology, as well as our international promo for your club. All you have to do is sign on the dotted line." explained Greyson, pulling out some paperwork. "My team is ready to work and took the liberty of drawing this up for us." he finished handing me a pen. I smiled and chuckled softly to myself. "Well were both thinking in the same way." I taunted, relaxing back in my chair as he watched me. "You see, I was thinking of a more profitable pairing." I told him seriously as his eyes darkened a little more making me smile more. "My people did some research and your business just received a new investor. Correct?" I questioned as he nodded." So you increased your profits by what 45% which is actually about 450,000 if im not mistaken." I explained further. "If this " pairing" were to work I need to be in the know and I believe a deposit is in order." I stated snapping my fingers. The door opened behind me as Juniper came through. She held the contract that I had drawn two days ago. It basically guaranteed that I owed him nothing in our agreement and neither did he, as long as nothing "under handed" went on. You see I was a smart cookie and I was street smart as well. I never wanted to get over on people, but Niggas like him, I had to humble. "Being as you were so..." I paused looking at him. " "Nice" to inform me of the investor, im sure $150,000 should be enough for your lateness of speaking on it." I said coolly as his jaw clenched. "The deposit is YOUR way of showing your gratitude for me ALLOWING your things into MY club." I finished as Juniper smirked and took her leave. I didn't need this deal, because my business will thrive regardless but with this deal it could speed things up. It may be a risk to push him like this, but I had to what was necessary. Greyson slowly clapped as a smile crept onto his face. "I see." he murmured, shifting in his seat. He took the papers off the desk, rolling them up and sliding them inside his jacket. "I agree with the deposit and my people will check the paperwork." he answered me as my heart danced in my chest. "Well played Dorinda." I cooed to myself. "I'll have your money and everything signed the next time we meet." he spoke, as my brow furrowed and I frowned a little. This was suppose to be a one time meeting. I shrugged it off, since I got what I wanted. "Tomorrow we can meet for Lunch." I told him, preferring to meet publicly and in the daytime. I didn't like his demeanor. Greyson nodded. "Now, enough business." he chuckled. "This is a club, Show me what Good Vibrations is all about." he pressed, ending the topic. I laughed it off, shrugging. "Sure, Follow me." I spoke standing up and leading him out. We descended down into the top floor/VIP. My office was fixed into the ceiling, so I could watch the club from above. The music boomed around us, as I over took VIP and seated us in the corner section. A champagne bucket was placed on the table in front of us, almost immediately. My server knew me well and brought over a shot of Hennessy. "I see you prefer the brown stuff." he commented, pouring himself a glass of champagne. I nodded, as my eyes gazed over the crowd. Greyson babbled in my ear as I pretended to be interested. I just wanted to leave at this point. Then, I saw red in the corner of my eye. My eyes shot to her face, as ShaMilla watched me from across VIP. She knew I spotted her, but she didn't react or move. She was dressed in all black with no jewelry, but I could tell it was expensive. "Hold that thought." I spoke excusing myself. Moving to approach her, ShaMilla shook her head no and walked away from me. Taken aback, I hastily followed her out of VIP and down to the dance floor. Multiple bodies bumped against me as I shoved my way through. I came out of the crowd, to the main bar, but I didn't see her anymore. "I'm tripping." I mumbled to myself. I ordered two shots of Gin. I knew I was mixing my liquor, but I had to get Milla off my mind. I don't know what it is but I'm stuck on her. I took my shots quick, back to back. I went to the end of the bar towards the corner of the club, just to be alone and avoid Greyson. It was only 12 and I was over everything. The club was jumping still, but I felt alone more than ever. I pouted, standing to myself watching everyone enjoy themselves. "why are you by yourself." said that voice I knew well. There she was, low in the shadows. I didn't know how long she was there, but I'm sure it had been awhile. I stared back at her, contemplating on what to say. The liquor in me wanted to go off, but the woman in me was happy to see her. "Why are you here." I asked her as she came over to me. She moved my hair out of my face, tucking it back in place and my heart quickened. "Earlier..." she began to speak in her same time. I heard her clearly in the loud club. "You seemed like you wanted me here." she confessed. I shrugged looking away not even sure if thats what I wanted. "Dorinda" she spoke reaching to turn my face. "Tell me what you want." her lips said as I watched them speak. "There you are!" shouted Greyson over the music coming towards me. I turned to face him just as Milla stepped back, melting into the crowd. Man, f**k her if she was gonna keep leaving like that. "It's lit in here!" he exclaimed smiling brightly. He looked to be enjoying himself. His menace from earlier gone, leaving amazement displayed in his facial features. My club would do that to you. Hardly any drama here, just good vibes, just how I wanted it to be. A Utopia, for those who just want to cut it up and let it all hang lose. "Dance with me." he begged, grabbing my hands and twisting me towards him. I laughed, but followed him onto the dance floor. Just as we made our way into the thick of things, my song came on. Killin you hoes by Trina drummed through the speakers as I rapped and grooved to the music. Greyson followed me, coming close occasionally, but stepping away before it felt weird. I lost myself in the music , just as it should be. This is why I do this, to give people this feeling. The song switched just before the second verse as lemon lean took over. I slowed down following The Dreams naughty rhythm. At this point I was lit. I didn't care about nothing but enjoying myself. I felt Gryeson on my a*s but I let him follow my hips. I laughed feeling him get excited as I stepped away whining my hips. I felt him pull me into his embrace and turned to face him. I pushed him slightly, feeling his arms wrap me. My face changed, as his arms tighten and I fell into his embrace. The crowd swayed, slow grinding against each other as he moved us through. That look back on his face from before, with that sly twisted grin. I didn't like this. I tried to get him off, but I was past tipsy and beginning to panic. We ended up in the hall by the bathrooms, which was surprisingly clear and dark. He pulled me towards the men's room as I pushed him hard and knee'd his groin. "f**k !" he shouted, bending over. I turned on my heels to leave and froze as ShaMilla stood there with fury in her eyes. "I didn't.." I stuttered out as she marched past me with purpose. Greyson was still swearing as he stood coming face to face with Milla. "Yo, Meanor. I didn't mean it I swear." he groveled as I stood shocked. He towered over her, but he was clearly scared as she stood in his presence. ShaMilla punched his throat quick as hell as he crumbled, gasping for air. I looked around to see two women laughing coming towards us, before pausing seeing the scene. They were drunk as hell, but stupid as f**k to be standing there. "GET UP!" barked Milla, making the girls jump and scatter back towards the crowd. Greyson moved slow, but he soon stood with tears rolling down his face. He pulled my contract out and shuffled over to the wall. Taking out a pen, he signed the papers and stuck his hand out, offering it to her. She watched him and turned to face him crossing her arms and switching her weight on her feet. Milla nodded towards me. "No disrespect." He pleaded holding his arms up in defense as he walked over to me. "I'll have your money tomorrow." he mumbled as I took the contracts. "Tonight." spoke ShaMilla watching us. I stood there in silence, I turned my attention to the paperwork and indeed he signed all the necessary parts. "Of course." he stated easing away. He walked away backwards, until he got into the crowd, not wanting to take his eyes off of her. I looked over to her and sighed, suddenly not knowing what to do with my hands. "Thank you." I mumbled, rolling my eyes and looking down. "What the f**k were you thinking, huh!" she shrieked, causing me to jump out my skin as she walked up on me. I backed into the wall behind me as she leered over me. "All you had to do was make a deal." she stressed, with fire in her eyes. "Not slow f**k him on the dance floor and get scared when the nigga got you trapped." she ranted as I felt my eyes water. Her face softened as she saw the unspilled tears and she stepped back. I fought my tears knowing I was drunk and that she was right. I just wanted to leave. With one look she sighed and grabbed my hand. "Lets go." she stated, pulling me with her as she maneuvered through the bodies of drunkies. Milla lead me to the back entrance that I used to make my escapes when I left early. I raised my brow as we headed for the doors, wondering how did she know about them. Jaxon and Vincent stepped out in front of us. Milla stopped and sucked her teeth. Seeing my face, Jaxon's eyes went to searching through the crowd. "You okae Dorinda?" spoke his younger cousin Vincent as he eyed Milla, who inched forward in response. "I'm fine." I rushed out tugging Milla back. Jaxon's attention was back on us as his eyes finally fell on Milla. "No disrespect." he apologized moving himself, and Vincent out of our way. She nodded, continuing out of the doors. Vince held out the keys as she snatched them heading for my car. Unlocking the doors, she opened mine and I got inside the passenger seat. Closing the door, she switched over to the driver's seat, getting in and buckling up, before pulling off. The radio was low as she drove us home. I kept quiet as my thoughts whirled. Who was this woman? The question rolled around in my head. I peeped over to her watching her focus on the road. "If your gonna stare. At least say something." she challenged, not even looking at me. "Okae what was that about?" I questioned her. "What?" she joked as I rolled my eyes. "You know f*****g what!" I blew up. "Why the f**k, do you just pop up out of no where?! How do you know my building!?" I exclaimed as she remained quiet. "WHY IS EVERYONE SCARED OF YOU!? WHY DO YOU IGNORE ME AND COME BACK TO SAVE ME!? WHY ARE YOU PLAYING WITH MY EMOTIONS! THAT'S WHAT THE f**k IM TALKING ABOUT!" I blurted out. I didn't give a f**k anymore. I knew I had feelings for her, they've been there, regardless if I admitted it or not. This cat and mouse s**t had to stop. She knew what she was doing and that's what hurt the most. I didn't even notice the angry tears as they cascaded down my face. She stayed quiet and I sucked my teeth turning away from her. "Exactly what I expect from you!" I spat as we came off our exit. "Rinda ..." she pleaded. "Take me the f**k home." I demanded not hearing that s**t. ShaMilla stayed quiet and did as she was told. I had to get away from this b***h. I wasn't even attracted to women! Maybe it was the idea of her or the way she always had my back. There wasn't enough patience in the world for me to take this back in forth. We pulled into the parking spot and I darted out as soon as we stopped. The seat belt stopped my drunk a*s, snatching me back down as ShaMilla unclicked me. I kept it moving. f**k her. I hurried up to HER home and cursed realizing I didn't have my things. I jumped as Milla reached around me unlocking the door looking sad. I stepped inside, heading straight to my room. I burst inside slamming the door. I didn't wanna sit and I didn't know what was next. "f**k!" I screamed at the ceiling, letting my frustrations out. "Here." said Milla standing in my door way. I let out my breath walking towards her as she held out my phone. I took it out of her hands not looking at her. "Than.." I started, before she closed the distance and kissed me. I mean really kissed me. I felt my soul light up as her hand gripped me tightly and I slid my fingers through her hair. It was soft and she smelled soo nice. I moaned feeling my back hit a wall and her hand exploring my body, wishing this thin fabric was gone. I sighed and she slipped her tongue into my mouth. I relaxed, responding to her as my g string soaked. I pulled away to catch my breath, my mind reeling as she attached my neck. "ShaMilla." I moaned before she stopped abruptly stepping away from me. She looked like she wanted to tear me out of my dress as I felt the fresh wetness on my thighs. "Sorry." she mumbled as l**t danced in her eyes. "Don't be." I stated boldly as her eyebrows rose. She nodded and walked over to the bed. Sitting down, She patted the space beside her. My pulse quickened as I asked myself if I really wanted this. She watched me as I came over slowly to sit. Yes I did. "You asked me some questions." she said breaking my thoughts. "You didn't let me answer." she continued placing a hand on my thigh turning towards me. "I don't pop up, you catch on slow." she smiled and I returned it. "Last year when Apollo had Eclipse." I tensed hearing that name. "I got my hands on the blueprints and committed it to memory. " she stated rubbing me slightly. I felt like she was preparing me for something. "I'm sorry for ignoring you but I felt it was the best solution for us and why wouldn't I save you." she snorted making a "duh " face. I shrugged, making her roll her eyes. "I'm not trying to play with your emotions." she spoke as my breath caught. I gave her my undivided attention as she caressed my thigh gazing into my eyes. She really was beautiful and strong and sincere. I wanted to know more, I had to. "The people I care about dies." she began as her eyes got distant. I nudged her and smiled giving her support. "You don't understand what I mean. Not hurt, they die and I care about you too much to let that happen because of me." she confessed as my heart did back flips. "You care about me?" I wondered aloud, as she nodded looking somber. "I care about you too." I added with a smile. She shook her head taking her hand off me as I frowned. "Your a*s is hard headed." she retorted as I laughed causing her to stare at me. "Whatever, but You like it and I'm not going no where." I purred, still feeling my buzz. I leaned into her space, breathing her in. "You don't scare me." I teased eyeing her back. She smirked, leaning in and kissing my lips softly. "Is that right." she mumbled against my lips. Turning us, she trailed her hands down my sides turning me so I laid back and she was over me. She kissed me sweetly but with aggression as I felt myself get hot and bothered all over again. Rolling my dress up exposing my g string, she slid down speaking against my thighs. "Hard head makes a soft ass." she kissed up my thighs. I bite my lips as she drove my body wild. No, I was wildin, getting caught up in Milla. "I wanna take you somewhere tomorrow." she said, switching thighs as I squirmed wetting the bed now. She chuckled under her breath, still tormenting me. "Okae." I breathed to answer her. "You sure?" she asked against my pelvis. "Yess." I moaned, as she came back up to kiss my lips. I felt her slid her hand in my g string but she stopped before touching my pearl.
