Rian Brooks
As the meeting seemed to drag on forever, my mind seemed to drift off into a state of fighting a beast. I imagined every time someone spoke I chopped their heads off. Someone was tapping me. "Back, ye foul beast!" I exclaimed.
I instantly felt my face warm up as everyone looked at me and were either holding in a laugh or looking lost.
"I am sorry. I do not know what has come over me. I must be feeling under the weather," I explain as I grab the papers off the table and focus on the presentation.
"Continue please." I insist politely, crossing my legs. I begin to think of what to bring to my mom's grave. I also wonder if I should drive myself to her grave.
No, that is a stupid question. Of course I will. No one needs to know about my personal life. Do I go after my meeting with Dr.Carson? I wonder what his first name is. Does he have any other patients? What does he think of me? Does he know the family secret? Is he a private doctor just for me? So many questions, so little time.
I might as well go to him- it makes life so much simpler to just have him in my office that I no longer own. Oh yeah, how did I forget all about that little statement? "Ms. Brooks, we are ready to have your opinion on what we should do. Do you think we should have China be a part of our company or should we call off the whole deal?" Alein asked. His messy brown hair makes him look cute but the face throws everything off to a point I want to vomit.
He looks somewhat like my old dog. I look at the council. "Let them work with us, the moment things look to be going wrong it is as simple as to end our partnership." I shrug, leaning back. Everyone knows when I make partnerships, we work towards the same goal at the same time and when we succeed.
Only when we make that goal does everyone get paid. I stand as we end our meeting, everyone else stays to shake hands with me and my endless fight against germs, I continue to make my way out of the room and wave goodbye.
I head to the top floor. I guess it is ok that I am C.E.O in training; my office is still on the top floor. Everything isn't that bad, all I have to do is pretend to be a girl around him more. I mean, simple, right? I sigh. Why do I always pester myself with such trivial things? I step off the elevator and walk down the small hall to go to my new office. As soon as I enter my office, his black hair and his somewhat pale skin catch my eyes.
He is so handsome... stop, that is disgusting. I must keep him at arm's length and this relationship very professional. I have to keep everyone happy and to keep myself safe, he must not see that I like him. I sit behind my desk and look deep into his blue eyes. "Hello, Dr. Carson," I speak softly.
He smiles and reaches over to shake my hand. He must be forgetful, or maybe he just doesn't care that I have this phobia. I look at his hand and shake my head.
"So the severity of your condition is that bad," he mumbles to himself. I want to glare at him but would that be very proper. I mean, I do find his presence unnecessary, but that is something I must keep to myself.
"My condition is fine." I put venom in the word condition. I find that word to be so poisonous. I look at my watch. In 30 minutes, the flower shop will close. I stand and walk towards the door. "We shall pick this up later, I have somewhere important to be. Dr. Carson, be well for the rest of the day." I say as I look for my coat.
"You left papers in your dad's office. Also, call me Victor. As I shall call you Adrian to have us be more on a personal position; I am your private doctor," Victor says. Oh, even saying his name in my head is nice. I watch him leave, then make my way down the hall with my coat on my arm and my work bag in hand.
I open the door to my dad's office and a strong smell of filth hits my nostrils. My dad is fixing his clothes while Tanya kisses his head and zips up her skirt. The lipstick on her lips is smeared.
My dad's neck full of hickeys and lipstick on his collar I start to shake a bit. I grab the papers and run away as tears well up. I hear Tanya laughing as I step on the elevator. My mind races to what happened and I begin to remember another situation like this.
I start to panic as my mind sends me to when I was 11.
*3rd person*
Young Adrian is playing with her dolls in front of her dad's bedroom door. Her babysitter Trixy opens Adrian's dad's office door. Adrian was curious to know what was happening, she followed Trixy into the office.
While Trixy waited for Xavier to make it home. Trixy has always crushed on the older man. Trixy plays with Adrian in Xavier's office. When they hear the door open, Adrian jumps up, knowing her dad doesn't want her in his office. She grabs Trixy's hand.
"We have to go; Daddy's home," she whispers. Trixy grows a shady smile and pushes the little boy-dressed girl into the closet. Xavier walks in, seeing Trixy in her coat. He looks at her confused. "What are you doing in here? Why do you have on your coat?" he questions as he takes off his North Face coat. Outside was cold because it was early December.
Trixy sits on his desk and spreads her legs a bit. She lets her Columbia coat fall on top of his desk. Xavier looks at her from head to toe, taking in her appearance the lace of her bra the DD in size. When he first entered his office, he thought of nothing but his daughter, but as his crotch makes a tent of itself, all he could think off was how beautiful Trixy would look bent over his desk.
His mind goes blank as he grabs Trixy.
Meanwhile Adrian watches appalled as her dad defiled her babysitter, not acknowledging her presence in the closet. She shakes as she is forced to listen to the sounds of adults committing sin.
When everything ends, Xavier goes to shower for diner and Trixy opens the closet door, sees the frightened child, and wipes along the child's cheek using a hand, which is covered in the father's sperm. "Your father was delicious," she whispers and walks away. Adrian runs to the bathroom and scrubs her hands. "Disgusting. Disgusting," she repeats over and over as she scrubs harder.
*present day*
"Disgusting! Disgusting!" she yells, standing in the mirror looking at herself. Tears flee from her eyes as she scrubs her hands, the bathroom empty as she has her own private bathroom. "Are you ok?" The sound of Victor's voice floats through the locked door. Adrian starts to calm down a bit at his voice. "Yes," she affirms. She slides her gloves back onto her hands and walks out to see Victor looking concerned.
"Step one: write a list of ten things that bother you the most and we shall accomplish the list slowly." He speaks softly, almost as though she is a child.
Adrian nods slowly and keeps her head low so he won't see the tear stains.
