the rivalry

321 Words
Over time, Vines and my brothers' rivalry hasn't come to an end. That conflict doesn't seem like it will ever come to a peaceful resolution. Their relationship hasn't improved; they just choose to stay out of each other's way. I stay out of it. I've never been one to be in my brothers' business, and I'm not about to start now. But sometimes, I can't help but wonder what could have been if they had just put their differences aside and tried to work things out. It's sad to see them constantly at odds with each other, especially since they all love Princess. But I guess some things just can't be fixed, no matter how much you want them to be. I understand why my brothers don't want to let vines in. I understand why vines don't want to let them in. Don't trust your enemy. I'm not allowed to even think about getting involved with Vines. I'm old enough to make my own decisions about who I date, but I'm not foolish enough to go against my brothers' wishes. I'm not going to say being in a relationship with Vines hasn't crossed my mind, because it has. I have to accept that it will never happen. The way Vines is with Princess is something to see. Their father-daughter bond is remarkable. She even sleeps over at his house now. At first, she would cry for me or my brothers, but now that girl can't get enough of her dad. Vines' mother adores Princess. Princess has her own room at Vines' mother's house. If it were up to her, I would never get my daughter back. I love how Vines and his mother love my daughter. I guess I just have to thank my lucky stars that Vines has chosen to be in my daughter's life. My brothers are allowing Vines to be in Princess's life. That's all I ever wanted.
