The night Janet masked Ember's powers, Ember had another dream about her parents. She was walking with them to their favorite picnic spot. The day was sunny; Ember felt the warmth cover her like a warm blanket. Her mother spread their favorite quilt on the ground and her father brought the ice chest around. Ember lay back on the quilt and watched the clouds float by. Soon, her mother and father joined her and they laughed as they picked out shapes. Ember looked at them both, soaking them in because she knew this was a dream. They lay there like that, Ember in the middle of her parents and continued watching the clouds.
