Jason still sat in his car, waiting for a sign or something that would direct him. No one has ever caused him to react like he did earlier. He ran away from the girl like a cowardly lion. She had such energy flowing off her that he couldn’t help it. Even his wolf recognized her authority. He was no longer sure he wanted this job. It wouldn’t be too hard for him to disappear. He was single; he hadn’t found his mate yet and his parents were gone. They never had any children after he was born, and so he’d been pretty solitary for his adult life.  He found relationships with others difficult as he moved around and didn’t realize how lonely he was until today.
