Neither Caden nor Theo spoke as they headed out of the city. In the back, the dogs whined, slowly stirring Theo out of his thoughts. He glanced back at the canines to see them anxiously looking out at the unfamiliar city.
This was his first time here too, his first time anywhere in fact. As kids, he and his siblings sometimes played with the idea of traveling, but it never seemed to work out, especially after their younger siblings were born. So, this was his first time visiting, but the beauty of being in another city fell flat. Theo couldn’t help but think how much fun a trip here would have been with Aria playing tour guide, something she loved to do. She always made any trip around New York fun, even if it was a place they had been to a hundred times before.
