Tinkerbell slept in this morning, I left her to it as I used the bathroom. Last night had been comfortable and safe and filled with laughter. It was f*****g great spending time with the woman who I cared for. There was no denying that anymore.
Some feelings were developing and running away from them would make me a coward.
After my shower and getting dressed in a casual light blue shirt and a pair of jeans, I quietly collected Tinkerbell’s clothes and neatly placed them on the chair in the corner by the dresser. Tinkerbell stirred but she didn’t wake up. She continued her peaceful sleep, looking happy. I wouldn’t say she was smiling in her sleep, but it definitely looked that way.
I was glad she managed to get some rest after the showdown with Grace. Their friendship was ruined which I predicted. I also knew from the start I'd be the reason.
Tinkerbell didn’t seem to mind, but she drank a lot last night. I would ask her again this morning, maybe her answer would be different.
We needed to talk it over.
Cleaning up the cold coffee we left on the coffee table last night, I grabbed the ingredients I needed for pancakes this morning. While fresh coffee was brewing I made the pancake batter and turned on the TV to catch up with the world. Nearly done with making breakfast Tinkerbell quietly walked in, looking embarrassed and yet happy at the same time. She wore last night’s dress with an old shirt of mine on top of it, her hair pulled up to bun on top of her head.
“Smells great in here.”
“Yeah?”
I knew it did but I didn't know if she'd feel like eating or throwing up this morning. By the looks of it, she was okay with eating pancakes for breakfast. She sat at the breakfast bar and stared at the coffeemaker.
“I did recall a promise being made to me about coffee this morning.”
“I’m impressed, didn’t think you’d remember that.” Turning to the cupboard I grabbed a new cup and handed it to her, “Help yourself.”
She beamed at me and then slipped off the stool and walked up to the coffeemaker, pouring herself a fresh cup of coffee. She didn’t hop back on the stool though, she placed her cup down on the counter and started setting the breakfast bar.
"I can do that," I told her.
She threw me a look, “I can do it too. You made breakfast so I’m doing this.”
“Do you feel okay?” I asked her.
“I feel more than okay.” She pressed up against my side, “It was way better than I remember.” She whispered to me, she then pulled away giggling when I was too slow to grab her, “Pancakes and coffee.” She told me with a stern look.
“I suppose it was way better than last time considering the good mood you’re in.” Serving up the pancakes I sat down beside Tinkerbell after I poured myself a cup of coffee and leaned back when I saw her leaning in, she was the one who was too slow this time, “Pancakes and coffee.” I reminded her.
She tried to look offended but failed since the glittering in her eyes told me she was having a great time this late morning.
“Such a tease.” She sang.
Careful with the hot coffee, I turned to look at her. I didn’t want to make a big deal out of this but I needed to know how Tinkerbell felt about this situation concerning Grace. I wouldn’t accept some half-assed rambling about her being done with the blonde.
I needed to know if she resented me for it.
“So-“
Tinkerbell shook her head, “I’m not mad at you.”
“There is no way you knew what I was thinking.”
“I can read you easily, Nick.” She told me quietly, “I know you don’t accept that but since I came to know you I figured out that you’re actually a nice guy and a nice guy would worry about last night’s events even though I couldn’t have made it clearer that I’m so done with Grace.”
"No," I told her firmly, "I don't want to hear that again."
“Not hear what again?” She asked innocently, “That I’m so-“
“I’m warning you.” I told her, “I’ll show you how much of a nice guy I’m truly am if you continue that.”
She didn't look a little bit frightened at all. If anything she seemed to enjoy my annoyance. I tensed when I felt her hand on my thigh, She leaned in, pressing a kiss to the corner of my mouth.
“It’s true though so stop worrying.”
I didn’t mention Grace again, I think we both needed a break from the blonde. We ate breakfast, quietly joking around and just enjoying each other’s presence. Somehow we ended pressed up against each other on the couch while playing a game together. The mood between us was good. I wrapped an arm around her waist and held onto her while clutching the controller to make sure I wouldn’t let her win.
This was how it was supposed to be when being with someone. It was supposed to feel comfortable and safe. A bubble we created together where we could be ourselves.

Out of the blue that night Owen called me, telling me we should meet up at a local bar. Tinkerbell went home in the afternoon to change, I offered to tag along but she told me to have some quiet time with Owen first before she’d join us.
She was being considerate of us which made me appreciate her even more.
The bar was packed, the kind of bar I didn’t expect Owen to be in. When we first went out he showed me that he liked the more secluded, luxurious places. Turns out Owen wasn’t a picky guy. We ended up at a more casual bar, a table in the corner away from the busy tables to enjoy a little bit if quiet so we could have a conversation.
We did have to raise our voices a little but that was to expected when a group of women was celebrating something very loud. It looked like they were having fun so no one looked at them funny.
"Bachelorette party," Owen told me.
“In here?” I asked.
He smirked, “Don’t judge. The shots here are very affordable.” He then got up from his chair, “I’m going to order. Beer?”
“Yeah.”
Owen walked up to the bar and ordered us drinks. Tinkerbell texted me to let me know she was grabbing a cab right now. She’d join us in fifteen minutes or so. Owen walked back to our table and placed a beer in front of me.
“So Blackwood is all over the news once again.”
I sighed, “I owe him one.”
Owen grinned, “I should stop being surprised when the guy does something nice.”
“Turns out Jacob Blackwood is very protective over those he’s close to.”
Owen nodded, “That includes you.”
I couldn’t deny that. The one who worried about Grace was Jacob. He was the one warning me about Grace possibly becoming dangerous due to her obsession. I couldn’t agree more now. It was probably a good idea to talk to the Merigold lawyers to figure out this restraining order thing.
I had a feeling I needed it for my safety and those around me.
“That includes me.” I didn’t even deny it out loud, “We’re family now.”
“I did notice someone familiar in the background.”
I rolled my eyes knowing where Owen was going with this, “Yes, Amber was my date.”
"She's the reason why Grace lost it and Blackwood had to step in," Owen concluded.
“Maybe.”
There was no maybe to it. I planned it together with Tinkerbell, we knew it would end up that way. I didn’t want to admit that to Owen though. I wasn’t sure how my friend felt about the blonde now that she showed her true colors. Sometimes you couldn’t help who you fell for.
I was a great example of that.
“Come on, she’s totally the reason why Grace lost it.” Owen didn’t sound angry nor did he look upset so I assumed Owen wasn’t too smitten with Grace anymore. That was a very good thing, “Grace saw you and then decided to have you. Turns out she wants to become a trophy wife.”
“She can wish for it for all eternity, I’m not the one who is going to marry that insane woman.”
Owen drank his beer, placing the empty glass down on the table with a loud thud, “You’re so falling for her.”
I was about to protest when I noticed he was looking at something or rather someone behind me. Tinkerbell reached out table, greeting Owen with a wide smile.
“Evening.” She said, taking a seat beside me.
“Evening.” Owen nodded at her, “Shots?” He asked.
I placed my hand on her knee and gave it a tight squeeze. She kept a smile on her face, yet I felt the way she jumped when she felt my hand on her knee.
“Beer is fine.”
Owen raised an eyebrow at that. Tinkerbell always preferred something stronger but tonight she’d join us. I liked it that way too because I wasn’t ready to take home a rambling Tinkerbell again. It was cute, but I liked our more sober times on the couch a lot more.
“Okay, I’ll order us another round.”
Once Owen was out of sight, Tinkerbell turned to look at me, “Really?” She asked.
"Let's call it a night early," I whispered in her ear.
She seemed to like that. Leaning in she pressed a quick kiss to my lips.
“An early night.” She agreed.

Tinkerbell grabbed onto my shoulders, tightly holding on as she rode me on the couch. My pants were pushed down, she had taken me out of my boxers and slipped me inside of her without warning.
She had been so ready, wet and leaking onto her thighs.
Our teasing underneath the table in the bar and our subtle touches in the cab was all it took to get her all ready for me.
Brushing her hair out of her face, I watched her carefully. She was tightening around me, whenever she got close she slowed down so she wouldn’t c*m just yet. She wanted it to last, we both knew it would feel a lot better then.
Yet I wanted to see her when she came, knowing how beautiful she looked.
So I reached between her thighs and rubbed her c**t. She tightened around me again, her nails digging into my shoulders.
“Nick.” She whined.
With my free hand, I grabbed onto the back of her head and pulled her in for a kiss, muffling her whines. She was getting so close, I could feel it. Rubbing her c**t with a little more pressure she came undone, pulling out of the kiss and resting her head against my shoulder as she clenched around me.
I came then too, the feeling too much. We both tried to catch our breath, Tinkerbell’s breathy laughter making a lazy smile spread across my face.
“This was good too.” She whispered.
Something told me that from now on every time we had s*x together it would feel like this.
