The revenge of the Pyak clan
The Pyak clan’s encampment stood only a short journey from Mebet’s, and therefore impudent Hadko had promised to return on the evening of the same day. He was very keen to see to this matter and he drove his reindeer on mercilessly. Along the way he came across Makhako, whom he was seeing (like his father would) for the first time in his life. People in the taiga, even if they were strangers to one another, would never meet without the exchange of greetings, or a fight, or a killing. This time greetings were exchanged. Makhako was on his way to visit relatives, but he was in no particular rush, as he had not been invited and he was not even sure that he would be welcomed there.
