MADISON'S POV
He showed me around the beautiful mansion. It had the most breathtaking details and designs. The lobby was a deep red and gold color with a two-way grand staircase. To the left, was a beautifully decorated living room with a white couch and other chairs, a deep brown hickory wooden coffee table and bookshelf filled with books, a beautiful fireplace, and a white plush rug.
The deep red and gold color walls were present here and everywhere else, except the kitchen. Past the staircase was a art gallery hall. I found out he loved to paint, which was a talent he discovered when he was five, but never told anyone except his mother. She was the one who encouraged him to hang the paintings up.
Past the art gallery hall was his office and the kitchen, where I met Rita, who was 49, and Sue, who was 52. They were the cook and maid. According to Liam, Rita, the cook, only came when he was busy and didn't have time to cook. He preferred to cook for himself. Sue cleaned twice a week but got breaks around the holidays. According to them, Liam paid very well.
The master bedroom was decorated beautifully, as well as the rest of the room. It was obvious his mom helped him decorate. The mansion had 10 bedrooms and 12.5 baths, a game room, a theater, 2 libraries, an art studio, a gym, a big backyard, and a pool. I noticed that in every bathroom there was a vase filled with lavender flowers.
During the whole tour, Liam never let go of my hand, and it felt... right. It was good to know that he loved me now.
"And that concludes the tour." He said as we walked back into the living room.
"It's beautiful," I said in amazement.
"Excuse me, Alpha, Beta Reynolds is in your office." Sue said.
"Thank you, Sue. You and Rita can have the rest of the evening off," he said.
"Thank you." She bowed respectfully and left.
"Alpha?" I questioned, looking up at him. Even in heels he towered over me.
"Yeah. My dad gave me the position as Alpha on my 18th birthday since I found you, though I wished you could've been there to claim your place as Luna." He said, walking me to his office.
Luna, I thought. Was I fit to be a Luna? I stopped and he looked back at me.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
"Nothing. I mean, I wouldn't want to intrude on Alpha Beta business." I said. "Plus, I wanted to get settled in."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, and no need to worry. I'll be right here in the house."
"Okay."
He released my hand and I instantly missed his touch. Then, he leaned down and softly pecked my lip, leaving behind a tingling feeling. He then disappeared down the hall. I walked upstairs and into the room when my phone rang. I pulled it out and saw my dad's caller ID.
"Hel—"
"I told you to call when you made it there safely. It's 10:05. You didn't call. I was worried. Your mother was worry." He ranted on.
"Sorry. Liam was showing me around the house. I'm fine."
"I still think this was a bad idea. Couldn't you've waited another year or two?"
"Dad, he's my mate."
"You're 19. I don't feel comfortable letting my 19-year-old daughter live with a boy."
"Dad. It's fine. Everything is fine. I am going back to college next month, and it's just down the street. I'll call you every week to let you know I'm fine if that helps. Just please stop worrying so much."
"Okay, deal."
"Bye, dad. Love you."
"Love you too."
I hung up and pulled out pajama bottoms and a sweater. It was the beginning of fall, so it was fairly cool. I took off my heels and placed them in the closet. I walked into the bathroom and stripped down before hopping into the shower. After I washed my body and hair, I got out. I got dressed and brushed my hair out. I walked back into the room.
I looked out the large window that provided a great view. I caught something I hadn't seen before in the daylight. In the woods, were houses that lit up the night sky. I began to wonder why everyone moved out into the woods, but nonetheless, it was a beautiful view. I felt arms wrap around my waist, and I was pulled into a hard chest. Sparks shot through my body.
"I have a question," I exclaimed.
"Shoot." Liam said.
"Why is everyone in the woods?"
"Hm. About a month after you left, the pack's house was set on fire by a rival pack. Thankfully, everyone got out in time."
"That's awful."
"They haven't attacked since but Kyle just told me about some rogue activity near the southern border. Which reminds me." He took my hand and led me into the closet. "For safety precautions I had these put in." He pushed back the clothes.
"It's a wall," I said.
He pushed the wall slightly, and it slid open, revealing a tunnel. "It leads to a panic room. There's one in every room. If anyone was ever to break in, I want you to go there, okay?" He said.
"Okay." I said.
"Good." He said, kissing my forehead. He grabbed something and walked out of the closet.
The door closed back slowly and beeped. I shrugged and walked out and sat on the bed. The shower started running and I snuggled under the covers. Before I knew it I drifted into a deep sleep.
---
I woke up to light snoring and arms wrapped around my waist. I stretched and yawned before I was pulled into Liam's hard chest.
He snuggled me and mumbled, "Go back to sleep."
"I'm not tired." I replied.
"Shhh... it's six in the morning."
"Liam, let me go." I said, wiggling around.
His grip tightened and I was locked in place.
I poked his cheek. "You look so cute when you're tired." I said in a baby voice.
"Maddy. Sleep." He said.
"La La La La La!" I shouted.
"Madison," He groaned. "I'm tired. Go to sleep or I'll tape your mouth shut."
"Or... you can release me and I go cook breakfast."
"Yeah... I don't think so, sweetheart."
"Fine don't release me but I'm telling you right now I'm not going back to sleep."
He sighed. "I want pancakes." He said, releasing me from his hold.
I jumped up and walked out the room.
