LIAM'S POV
"Why am I just now finding this out? I mean you told Kyle before me." Nick complained.
"You're a lot more judgmental," I said, leaning back in my seat.
"Hm. I leave for 6 years and you find your mate. I thought you didn't want a mate." He raised an eyebrow.
"I didn't but then she came. I kinda thought me and Dakota were always gonna stay together, but that's not the case." Kamden growled at me, mentioning her name.
Nick nodded. "So, are you sure about this? Having a human mate."
I narrowed my eyes at him. He had always despised humans. He thought of them as the inferior species. Was he questioning my decision to be with her?
"I'm not doing what I usually do. I'm just saying. Only one other werewolf in history has had a human mate, and she could barely carry his children. How do you expect her to bare your pups? You can't mate with her, not without killing her. And we don't want a dead Luna now, do we?"
"You're not the first person to tell me that. My wolf won't be able to control himself forever."
"Think about Madison and not wanting to potentially kill her. That should help." He said simply and kicked his feet up on my desk.
MADISON'S POV
I walked into the bathroom and to see a girl looking at two tubes of lipstick in deep thought. She was tall, around 5'9 with blonde hair and blue eyes.
"I say go with the pink lip color." I said. "It'll go well with your skin tone."
She turned to face me and smiled. "I thought so too, but I wasn't sure." She said, applying the lipstick.
I walked over to the mirror and fixed my hair.
"I'm Vanessa." The girl said, extending her hand.
"Madison." I said, shaking it.
She gasped. "Oh my god! You're Liam's mate!" She said in excitement before slamming her hands over her mouth.
"How did-"
"I'm Kyle's mate. They wanted me to keep an eye on you. I wasn't supposed to say anything, but I did. I talk a lot."
"Ugh. I can't believe Liam would do that!"
"He just wants to ensure your safety. It's what Alphas do." She paused for a second. "I hope this doesn't ruin us being friends."
I looked up at her. "No it doesn't. I'm just mad at Liam," I said.
"Yay!" She clapped and hugged me. "We're gonna be best friends! I finally have a reason to not be around Kyle all the time. Oh and don't be mad at Liam. It was Kyle's fault."
The day went on. I learned a lot about Vanessa and trust me the girl could talk. I went nearly the whole day without anyone noticing the hickey Liam gave me, but Vanessa spotted it when we were walking to our last class.
All of my courses were based off psychology, education, and nursing. Since I was a child I knew I either wanted to be a teacher, psychiatrist, or a nurse, but with me having Liam as a mate I probably won't be.
I walked outside to see Liam's black BMW parked in the parking lot. I smiled to myself and walked down the steps when someone gently grabbed my wrist. I turned to face Josh.
"Sorry." He said, letting me go. "Um there's a study group I'm a part of. We can help get you caught up with all your psychology work. We meet at the library just down the street on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 7 if you're interested."
I did need to catch up on my psychology notes since I started late, but I don't think Liam would actually let me do that. "I'll think about it." I replied.
"Okay cool. See you at study group tomorrow. Hopefully," He said, walking away.
I turned around and continued walking to the car. I opened the passenger door and got in.
"Who was that guy?" Liam asked before I could even close the door.
"Joshua. He showed me around school," I answered.
"Hm." He nodded and leaned over and pecked my lips. "I missed you."
I smiled. "I missed you too."
He smiled and started the car. He asked me how my day was and I told him. I even mentioned Vanessa, and he immediately defended himself saying it was Kyle's idea. So Kyle and I needed to talk.
