MADISON'S POV
Liam held me tightly in his arms and I snuggled into his chest. One thing I loved the most was cuddling.
"What's your favorite color?" He asked randomly, playing with my hair.
"I don't have one." I answered simply.
"Seriously?"
"Yeah. I could never pick one without leaving the other colors out."
He chuckled. "Well, that's very selfless of you." He said with an amused tone. "That's the funniest and weirdest thing I've ever heard."
I hit his chest. "Stop laughing at me." I said, sitting up and pouting.
"Aww you're so cute when you pout."
"I'm always cute."
"Right. Just not as cute as me." He smiled.
"Whatever." I said, lying back down.
He laughed and kissed my forehead before snuggling me closer to him. "I love you," he whispered.
"I love you too." I said, feeling my eyelids become heavy. I slowly drifted into a deep sleep.
---
I wiggled around in his arms as he held me tightly.
"Go back to sleep. You don't have school." He muttered, cuddling me like a teddy bear.
"It's almost 10." I said into his chest. As a response, he snored loudly. "Liam!" I yelled.
He groaned and let me go before getting up. Muttering incoherent things as he walked into the bathroom. I got up and walked into the closet, finding a pair of light-washed skinny jeans, a cream-colored cropped knit sweater, and purple vans. I put on my clothes and walked down the hall to the other bathroom. I brushed my teeth, washed my face, and curled my hair. I walked downstairs into the kitchen to see Liam cooking breakfast. I sat on the counter watching him make omelets.
"Soo..." I started. "There's this study group on Tuesdays and Thursdays from four to seven."
"That's what that guy was telling you about?" He asked.
"Yes."
He placed the omelets on a plate and looked at me. "I don't trust that guy." He said after a moment.
"You don't even know him."
"Neither do you."
"Liam, it's just a study group at a library. I started school late and I really need to catch up."
He sighed and walked over to me, placing his hands on the counter on each side of me. "Fine, but only until you catch up on your class work, and then you're done."
"Of course." I smiled and pecked his lips. I pushed him away, grabbed the plate of omelets, and walked away.
---
We came to a stop at the library. A few people sat on the steps reading, others mingled.
"I can't believe people actually meet here. I didn't even know there was a town library." He said with a hint of disgust.
"Of course you didn't." I said, reaching for the handle when I heard the door lock. I looked at Liam who was tapping his lips. "Seriously?"
"It'd be easier if you did it before you tried to leave," he said.
I rolled my eyes and kissed him. "Now unlock the door." I said.
"Not yet." He pulled me onto his lap and was about to kiss me, but someone tapped on the window. I crawled out of his lap as he rolled down the window. "What?" He asked rudely.
"You can't... Madison, what are you doing with him?" I heard my uncle Joey ask. Venom laced the word 'him'.
Uncle Joey was the sheriff of this town and my mom's brother. Like my mom, he used to be a hunter, but while my mom didn't hate the supernatural, Joey did.
"You didn't hear the good news? She's my mate." Liam said with a smirk.
Joey's face turned bright red. "Madison, you get out of this car now!" He half yelled.
Liam unlocked the door and I quickly grabbed my bag before getting out. "I'll be back to pick you up later," Liam said, before speeding away.
I looked up at Joey as he paced. "I can't believe Kelly didn't tell me." He said.
"No one else knows besides mom, dad, his parents, and the beta... and now you. Not even Tyler." I said.
"He has a lot of enemies. He had killed more wolves than James in his entire lifetime. You can't be with him. You'll get hurt."
"I'm fine so far, and it's been a month."
"Month? You've been here for a month and didn't come visit?"
"I've been busy."
"Madison-"
"Everything you're gonna say my dad has already told me."
He sighed, massaging his temples. "Just be safe." He said and kissed my forehead.
"I will." I said. "I have to go now." I walked across the street to the library.
Little did I know my life would be put in danger the following month...
