Chapter Eight

400 Words
MADISON'S POV Dang it! I should've told Liam about college before this. Now he'll never let me out. It's worth a shot. I walked into his office and he looked up at me. "Is something wrong?" He asked. "No." I said. "Not yet anyway." "What do you mean?" "Um… I start college next month." "College? No you don't." "Yes I do. I want to go to college. I went last year while I was in Paris." "Madison, there are people who will try to kill you if they found out you were my mate." "They'll only find out if you mark me. Besides, I'm not even ready to mate and be marked. I really wanna go to college." "I can't protect you while you're there." "It's literally 10 minutes away from here. Please. You can even drive me to and from school if that makes you feel better." "I'd feel much better if you didn't go at all." He paused, thinking for a minute and sighed. "Okay. You can go, but don't draw too much attention to yourself." "I won't. I promise." I said, walking over to him and pecking his lips. "You can go back to work now." I said before skipping out of his office. ---ONE WEEK LATER--- Jonathan was fully accepted into the pack and was on border patrol. Liam had become more clingy ever since he agreed to the college thing. I talked to my parents weekly like I had promised. Everything was going at a steady pace. There was no rogue activity near the borders and things were pretty quiet. For now, anyway. LIAM'S POV "College? Seriously?" Kyle asked. "Yes, seriously. It's ridiculous," I said. "For the whole 4 years?" "Or until she's ready to mate and she already started last year. I'm just gonna be worried about her not being by my side." "Maybe I can talk Vanessa into going." "And then you'll be worried." "It's better than you being so anxious. You know what happens when you get anxious." "People's heads come off." "Exactly. I'll see if she agrees to go." "What if some guy—" "You seriously think, thinking about 'what ifs' is gonna make this situation any better?" "No." I groaned. "I just can't help it." "Just don't think about it. You got a whole month." Little did he know that 'whole month' flew by like the speed of light.
