CHAPTER TWENTY Bait opened his eyes and immediately groaned. The back of his head was throbbing like it had been split open. He touched the back of his head and felt some blood, but it wasn’t nearly as bad as it felt. Even so, touching his head made the pain spike, causing him to gasp in pain and clutch his head. God, it hurts, Bait thought. Where am I? What happened? And why is everything so dark? That last thought was a legitimate question. Bait couldn’t see his own fingers in front of him.
