Voicing a soft groan on your neck, Jungkook pulled you closer to his bare body cuddling your frame, you slightly giggled sensing the ticklish feeling of his hot breath on the skin of your throat. The light from the sun outside the window peeked through the curtains providing just enough light for Jungkook to see parts of your milky soft skin peering onto the covers. “I wish I could stay like this forever,” Jungkook said. You made yourself to look at him and smiled, “we could if you want to.” He chuckled pulling you close once again. “I’ve never felt so contended with my life until now,” he said wrapping you even more, “I’m finally happy, thank you Y/N.” You smiled and kissed his chest, there’s no need for words anymore as you both relished the moment of being together. You inhaled,-- following the tempo of his breathing, matching it with yours, and you listened to his heart beating, enunciating like music on your ears. Moments later he shifted and finally broke the silence. “Aren’t you going to school today?” He asked. “The sem-break is just around the corner, so there’s nothing much to do anymore,” you explained, “plus, being together with my husband is more important.” He nodded slightly, “I agree,” and you both chuckled. “Uhm, why don’t you take a bath first,” Jungkook offered and you agreed going to the bathroom after getting a pair of jeans and a white shirt on the closet that Jungkook probably bought before hand. The door to the bathroom closed and Jungkook immediately reached for his cellphone by the bedside table and texted his best friend. Jungkook: Hyung, can I have a one day extension? It took awhile before Taehyung replied. Jungkook had already shifted several times on the bed-- he needed a reply before you finish taking a bath. Taehyung: Jungkook, I’ve already put up with you. Come back to the hospital now. Jungkook: Please Hyung. “Is there anything wrong?” You asked exiting the bathroom looking at Jungkook’s frustrated face. There’s a pop up on Jungkook’s phone but he shot his gaze on you before he could even notice the text. Taehyung: It’s already time for your medication, take it then come back here at the hospital. Jungkook’s phone vibrated but he just shove it off under the pillow. “Nothing babe, I’ll take a shower now,” he said and went straight to the bathroom. You sat on the mattress, browsing on your cellphone for awhile as you waited for Jungkook to finish when you felt his cellphone vibrating somewhere on the bed, you scanned the bed sheets with your palms until you reached his phone under a pillow. 6 missed calls from Taehyung. Your brows knitted together as you opened the lock screen and started reading Taehyung’s messages. Something is definitely wrong. “Jungkook? What’s this--,” you called but you were stopped by Jungkook’s groan echoing inside the bathroom which was followed by a loud banging sound. You ran towards the bathroom and tried to open the door but it was locked. “Jungkook! What happened? Open up!” The phone on your hand vibrated and without any seconds to waste, you answered the call. “Taehyung! I can’t open the door! Jungkook...” “F*ck! Wait for me there,” Taehyung sped up, good thing he was already on his way to the Inn since this stupid, hard headed best friend of his won’t answer the freaking damn phone. A loud knock on the front door made you jump and the tears streamed even more on your cheeks. “Out of the way,” Taehyung commanded as you let him in and you both ran to the bathroom. He kicked the door-- one, two, three times until it fell open and the scene inside made you gasped and your knees weaken. There lying on the floor motionless, was Jungkook. --- “This is sooo not because of the weather!” You let out as soon as the door to the emergency room closes. “What the f*ck is happening Taehyung?” “Y/N...” The sensed of being drained came rushing over you and you let your body fell on the icy metallic chair outside the E.R., you covered your face with your palms sobbing loudly, you didn’t know anything yet but you could already taste the heavy feeling of impair inside you. Taehyung sat beside you patting your shoulder in attempt to calm you down. “Tell me,” you said, turning your pooling eyes on him. “I... I promised him that I won’t--.” “GOD! Taehyung! Don’t you think I have the right to know?!” You fisted your hands that were now rested against your thighs, trying your best keep all the pain, dread and anger inside your bursting chest. In reality you just wanted to scream--, scream so loud until your lungs would go out of oxygen, scream so loud that maybe your man inside that room would hear you and finally wake up. The doctor went out of the E.R. and you immediately dashed towards him. “His condition is stable for now,” the doctor let out, “but we don’t know for sure, it seemed like he’s been skipping some medications making the tumor on his brain more active.” Taehyung clenched his fists hearing you echoed the word that only registered on your head... Tumor. “Oh, God,” you let out weakly, and in just that split second, you already felt your whole body went numb, your head spinning, and your hands trembling. --- He was soon transferred to the private Intensive Care Unit of the hospital,-- I would take care of all the bills, Taehyung had already offered. You fisted on Jungkook’s hospital gown, throwing light punches on his chest as you cried your eyes out. Taehyung had already left the room for you to have some privacy with Jungkook. You looked at his sleeping features, he still looked handsome despite the fact that he was sick, but you couldn’t helped to notice the paleness of his skin which made the veins on his arms more visible compared to before. The hot liquid from your eyes continued to streamed down and you started to hiccup. “I--i f-f*ck-ing hate--y-ou,” you said throwing another fist on his chest, then another, and another--, when you were about to land your fifth punch, Jungkook’s strong grip on your wrist stopped you, he slowly open his eyes to met your gaze and you swore the heart inside you skipped a beat. He pulled you and buried you on his chest, hugging you tightly while you wept continuously, damping the fabric of his clothes. “I guess you already know,” he started digging his fingers on your shoulder, he hated himself for putting you into a lot of pain, for hurting you so bad and for seeing you so broken in front of him, “I’m sorry that you had to hear it from other people.” And he really was sorry, the person he loved the most was suffering because of him and he couldn’t do anything about it. He wanted to get well but deep inside he could feel himself getting weaker and weaker as days went by, so he just hugged you tighter, inhaling your sweet, sweet scent, trying to memorize it on his head. “I’m f*cking selfish--,” he could feel hot tears trailing down his temples, his lips quivering, his heart aching. “I’m sorry.” You gripped tighter on his gown, you hate the fact that he’s saying sorry, as if being sick was his fault, as if he did something wrong just by loving you, as if everything was just a huge mistake. “C-can you...” He hesitated for a second but still continued, “can you still keep your vows and take care of me?” You darted your gaze on him, a bit taken by his request-- of course you’ll stay by him and he didn’t have to ask you to do that, why would you leave him now when he needed you the most? His eyes were filled with sorrow and fear that had you furrowing your brows, pain spreading throughout your body just by seeing him getting scared of being left all alone. You could sense that he was afraid of what the future might hold for him, but he was fighting, he was hanging on because of you, and it pained you so damn much to be so helpless, to not be able to make him feel secure, and to not be able to say that it’s okay, -- because you’d be lying if you would, because it is not okay, because no matter what you do, he’s still sick. You leaned down on him, damping his soft rosy lips with yours. You’d rather show him how much you care for him than say it with words, you need to make sure that he feels your love for him and to let him know that he’s not alone on this journey. Resting your head on his neck, you whispered loud enough for him to hear. “I love you.” -- It has already been one month. Sem break had already started which gave you a lot of time to spent with Jungkook. You practically live in the hospital now, nursing on your boyfriend so diligently up to the point that Taehyung would just see you by the hallway, hands on the wall hand rails as you tried to keep your balance in place. “You seriously need to rest Y/N,” he said helping you stood up straight. “No, I’m fine,” you answered while he assisted you towards Jungkook’s room, “I just got a little bit dizzy, that’s all.” He wasn’t getting any worst, and he wasn’t getting any better either, and you were frightened, so petrified that if you just look away-- just a split second, he would suddenly get more ill, and you didn’t wish for that to happen, not in a million years. Your friend just sighed deeply. He’s been telling you to go home and to have even just a one day rest but you were hard headed, you didn’t listen to him even once. “Sleep for now Y/N, I’ll look after him,” Taehyung said making you sat on the couch so you could lay there. “But--,” you protested looking at Jungkook’s sleeping frame on the bed. “You’re starting to look paler than him Y/N, seriously stop being so stubborn.” He was obviously a bit annoyed already, but a hint of concern was still visible on his eyes. “Okay, but please wake me up if he wakes up,” you finally gave in. “Sure thing.” -- “Y/N?” You heard Jungkook’s voice calling for you and you immediately opened your eyes, Taehyung was fast though, he’s already by Jungkook’s side asking what was wrong. “Did you guys put on some smoke in here?” Jungkook asked. “Huh?” Taehyung replied as he was confused what was his best friend was saying. “It suddenly got blurry,” Jungkook squinted his eyes to see clearly, but it was no use, “I---,” he tried to sit up but it seemed like his legs won’t let him. His breathing was starting to get heavy and you saw fear on his face, you immediately called for him as you ran and sat on his bed side. “Baby what’s wrong?” You asked placing your hands on his leg. He looked at you, squinting his eyes so he could see your beautiful face clearly. “I--, I c-can’t -- my leg, it won’t,” Jungkook stuttered looking on his legs covered by the white blanket, tears pooling on his eyes while he tried to move his right leg, “Y/N~!” He screamed your name gripping tightly on your arm, eyes full of fear like a lost child looking for him mom. “T-TAEHYUNG! PLEASE CALL THE DOCTOR!” You let out and Taehyung was already on his way out. You dragged your body towards Jungkook hugging his weak frame, “It’s alright baby, Taehyung already called the doctor,” you tried to talk calmly but your voice shook and the lump on your throat made it hard for you to speak steadily. Biting on your lips you rubbed onto Jungkook’s back trying to keep him calm as you felt your tears making their way down your cheeks. “Y/N,--,” he sobbed, “I can’t feel my leg,” he gripped tighter to you. “I can’t, p-please make it move,” he whimpered, he was so frightened and you can’t do a thing to make him better, you felt useless, so futile that you wish that it was just you who’s laying on the bed right now and not him, not the person you love the most. Taeyung came back rushing together with the doctor. “Who’s that?” Jungkook bellowed, “go away please!” “Baby, calm down, he’s a doctor,” you talked to him, tears won’t stop falling down from your eyes, seeing him confused and scared broke you into a million pieces, you tried to held his hand down but he was stronger throwing your grip on him away. “Go away,” he screamed. The doctor pulled out a syringe and struck it on Jungkook’s arm, he felt a sudden lost of energy and you saw Jungkook’s eyes on yours as a tear fell on it, he mouthed your name feebly until slowly his eyes got heavy and he fell into a deep sleep. You covered your mouth with your hand while you turned around from the scene, you couldn’t bare to see him like that, so confused, so scared, so weak. You sobbed biting on your lips trying to keep your whimpers to yourself as the doctor talked to Taehyung who had this already red eyes. “Vision problems, such as blurred vision, and gradual loss of sensation or movement in an arm or a leg are one of the symptoms of brain cancer,” the doctor explained, “it is necessary that we should do the operation now or he might get even worst.” But Jungkook didn’t want to, and you knew that, he was the only one preventing the treatment to move forth, but you couldn’t blame him, although he won’t say it, you knew that he was scared. “Will he-- get better after the operation?” Your heard Taehyung’s trembling voice. “Any treatment like this does not assure a hundred percent success,” the doctor started, “after all the examinations we’ve done on him, we found out that he’s not capable to have a surgery, so we will have to try Radiotherapy.....” The doctor kept on talking but your brain was somewhere far and you couldn’t focus on what they were talking about, all you know now was that you wanted him to get well, to have dates with you once again, to kiss you passionately like he always does and to make love to you like it was the first time. After the long talk, it has been decided to finally take the risk and do the radiotherapy treatment, he was scheduled to have the treatment the week after, and you and Taehyung were that ones who just final the decision by yourselves since you both knew that Jungkook wouldn’t agree to it. --- The sound of glass breaking, water splashing, and platters tumbling on the floor spread throughout the room. You silently mumbled his name as he screamed with all his might, pushing the tray of food out of the table. “I don’t want that!” Jungkook bellowed, “I don’t want to eat! How many times do I have to tell you that?!” His eyes were pooling once again while he fixed his gaze on you. You were trembling as you sat on the floor trying to pick up the broken glass pieces. “Ah!--ssss,” you hissed silently as the glass cut your index finger sending a tinge of color red to emerge from your silky skin. “Just--,” you sighed, you were tired, you haven’t slept properly or eaten anything yet and all could hear from Jungkook were all negative things that weren’t even helping, “just eat, even just a little, please Jungkook.” You stood up to sat on his bed, looking at him. “I said, I don’t want to,” he was persistent, looking straight at your already tired face. “Jungkook!” You spoke a little too loud but he was fast to cut you off. “Just f*cking leave me! I’m going to die anyways, so what’s the point of all these!” He screamed at you making you stood up, mouth hung open, “JUST LET ME F*CKING DI--.” That’s it! You slapped him right on the face, your palm hurt as it came in contact with his now already red cheeks. Tears streamed down your face, as well as Jungkook’s while he placed his hand on his burning cheeks, mouth partly opened, shocked by what you just did. No words were spoke as you dashed your way out of the room, you heard him called for your name silently but you ignored it. “Y/N?” Taehyung called to you as he approached you on the hallway, but you shove him off and continued to walk towards the rest rooms. You felt sick just by the thought it-- just the thought of him being gone forever made your stomach turned, and your head rumbling. You put all your weight on the counter as you started to vomit, but nothing won’t come out since your tummy was empty, and only your salty tears fell continuously on the marbled sink as you sobbed in pain. /// TBC
