My childhood best friend is a bad boy

Chapter thirteen - Party time

Scott's POV:

I can't believe this. It can't be real. I convinced Ellie to go to a party with me. This will be interesting. I am so into this. Since she'll coming with me, I have to make her dress well. Ellie has never worn dresses and I won't make her put on, but it has to be something cool. Not too much as well. I don't want all the boys to stare at her. Moreover, she is with me. Only as a best friend, but they don't know that. 

- Ellie where are you? Come here right now! We need to talk about something very important. 

She came out of the bathroom, straight to me. I like how she does everything that I tell her. Well almost everything, but she agreed to the party. Not like she had another choice. 

- For what do you want to talk with me? What is so important?

- Since we are going to a party tonight, you need to look good. I like the comfy Ellie, but I'll need the cool one. So put something good and let's go. 

- And why do I have to do this? What's wrong with my clothes? Let me guess. You don't want to go with an ugly girl. 

- That's so not true, but don't overdress. I don't want all the eyes to be on you. - I chuckled

- I'll see what I can do. I can't promise you anything. I won't dress like all the Barbie’s with which you are usually. 

- I don't want that from you. After thirty minutes we are leaving so be quick. 

- Don't worry. I don't have what to choose. 

Ellie gets upstairs in her room. I hope that I don't have to wait much. I don't understand what takes girls so much time. Just pick something to wear, some make-up and shoes and that's it. I'm glad that I'm not a girl. I don't want to imagine how early one girl has to wake up for school so she can get ready on time. 

After 15 minutes, Ellie comes downstairs. I almost dropped my jaw. She looked very different. I didn't expect that from her. Ellie was dressed with a white tank top, ripped blue jeans, black and white sneakers, and her hair was let down. If I haven't said up to now, I'll say it right now. 

- You look amazing. Good job Ellie. Why don't you dress like that every day?

- Because I don't want to show myself too much. I am here to study, not to catch the eyes of the boys.

- If you say so. Are you ready to go? I mean did you get everything that you need?

- Yes, I think so. I have my phone, some money, in case I need them, and the keys from my house. 

- Let's go now. We can be late, but not way too much. People will say that I don't want to come. 

- Said the guy who is late for school every day. 

- Very funny Ellie. Like you have never been late. 

- Nope, I haven't. Unlike you, I like always to be on time. 

We dropped it. I don't want to argue with miss trying to be perfect. While we were walking, I saw some boys looking at her. In the moment I looked at them they froze. Maybe we are not dating, but that doesn't mean that I can't protect her from idiots. I think that I need to keep an eye on her during the party or on the boys who will be there. 

Soon we arrived and I saw Noah coming too. All of us walked in. 

- Ellie how are you feeling? I know that this isn't your thing. - Noah said

- I am good for now. Waiting to go home. - she chuckled

- No going home without me. Someone needs to walk you because it'll be dark and since I am your only friend, I have to do it. 

- But you'll be drunk. Moreover, I can call a taxi. 

- This won't happen. I won't get drunk. Not in front of you and I'm not in the mood for that. I need to be sober. 

- Why? Man, you are always drinking at parties. - Noah said

- I didn't say that I won't drink. I said that I won't get drunk. Make the difference. 

- Can we just get over it? Let's do what it has to be done and get over it. - Ellie said annoyed

We walked to other people, which Noah and I knew from other parties. I offered Ellie a drink, but she refused. I never expected her to take it anyways. Maybe that is better. At least one of us should be completely sober, in case something happens.

Noah left to talk with some girl. I don't think that soon he'll find a girlfriend. Neither me. If we continue like that. One girl came to me with a smirk on her face. I gladly would try on her, but now I won't. First, I don't want to do it in front of Ellie and second I don't want to ditch her. We came together and we'll stay together. Since is her third party, I think, I have to stay with her. 

- Hey, do you want us to have some fun? A boy like you shouldn't be alone. - she said

- I'm sorry, but I won't do it today and who said that I am alone. - I said looking at Ellie

- Don't you tell me that you came with her? She won't offer you the things which I will. So what do you say?

- I already told you and I'm not with her to get things. There is another reason, which is not of your business. 

- It's your loss, but I thought that you are better than that. - she said and left

I saw that Ellie was a little bit sad. I grabbed her hand and pulled her close for a hug. She rested her head on my chest.

- Don't worry about her. She is nothing more than the other girls here. Moreover, I came with you and will stay with you until the end or when you decide to go home. 

- But I don't want you to get bored, because of me. 

- And I won't. Since you are here. Can I have a dance?

- You know that I can't dance, right? Are sure that you want to humiliate yourself in front of everyone?

- Will you stop thinking so bad for yourself and enjoy the night? C'mon Ellie have fun at least once. 

- I'll try, but I can't promise you. 

Well, it's still a try. Ellie needs to get out of her comfort zone. She is too shy. Someone needs to break her ice and I guess it'll be me. I pulled her for a dance. No one says no to Scott Lincoln. Moreover, I am her best friend. 

Soon Ellie relaxed and got loose. Now she doesn't care will people look at her. I have to admit that she is funny once she relaxes. After the dance, she excused herself to go to the bathroom. I told her that I would wait for her here. 

Already passed twenty minutes, but Ellie still isn't here. Did something happen? I don't want to disturb her, but I need to know what is going on. I was walking to the bathroom when I heard a loud voice. I immediately recognized it. 

- SCOTT, HELP ME! WHERE ARE YOU?

Then it stopped. I looked around to find Ellie pinned to a wall by one guy, his hand over her mouth. I felt how my blood started boiling. No one touches her. Neither me. Not the way he is doing it. I went to him and tapped his shoulder. He didn't turn around. 

- Excuse me, but can we talk? Right now. - I said

- Don't you see that I am busy? Go away and leave me alone. 

With that, I turned him around and punch him in the face. That's what you get for touching Ellie. We are only best friends, but I will always protect her. Just like when we were little kids. He tried to punch back, but I was quicker and caught his hand. Instead of letting him go, I gave him another punch. I was going for more, but I remembered for Ellie. She doesn't need to see this. I walked up to her. 

- Hey, are you ok? Did he do something to you?

 Ellie didn't say anything but just hugged me. I felt a couple of tears on my shirt. I lifted her chin and carefully wiped them off. I think that it's time for us to go home. Maybe Ellie was right to not go to this party. I had one job and I failed. What a great best friend I am. 

- Ellie, do you want us to go home? We can watch a movie and eat something.

- Yes. Please get me out of here. Then if you want, you can come back. I won't mind.

- No, I don't think so. There will be many parties. This won't be my last one. Let's go now. 

I grabbed her hand and both of us get out of here. Ellie was holding me tightly, which means that she is still scared. I had to watch her, to stay with her, but instead, I let her go for a couple of minutes, and then this happened. 

- Scott, it's not your fault. You can stop feeling guilty.

- But I had to watch you, to keep you safe. Instead, I let you go. 

- It was for a couple of minutes. Moreover, no one knew that this would happen. You don't need to worry. I am fine and you came just at the right time. My hero. - she said and kissed my cheek

I won't lie that this feels good. Ellie is not the first girl that has done that, but from her, it feels different. Maybe because she does it with good intentions. The other girls do it, so they can get something from me, but Ellie doesn't want anything. Just to be with her best friend. I won't give up on her. 

- What movie do you want to watch or do you want to go to bed? 

- We can do both. Movies in bed. I want to let you know that the chances of me falling asleep on you are very high. - she chuckled

- I won't mind. It won't be your first time doing this. 

We came home and watched a couple of movies. Well, only two. Ellie fall asleep in the middle of the second one. I lightly picked her head up and put it on her pillow. I turned the lights off and get ready for sleep. In the moment I laid down, she came to snuggle. I don't think that she realized it. Not like I mind. I like when she snuggles in me because I know that the other person in who she'll do it is her parents. I kissed the top of her head and fall asleep.
