Chapter Twenty Six

|Twenty-Six| |Jesse| It was two days since talking to Tessa and I have yet to figure out how to solve this problem. All I knew what that If I didn't save Lux or Jamie and try to get Tessa out of Dom's watch then someone would surely die, no doubt. I felt as if I was racing against time trying to figure out how to get them back without incriminating myself. I needed to stay on good terms with Bloodtrei and Dominick or else they would try to make hell for me. The good thing was that I was originally part of the London incubatti society. They only called me in here under suspicion that Luxinia was lying about her abilities. They didn't trust the incubi in New York. They called me when things got heavy. My memory was pretty sketchy, but from what I heard, I was notorious for taking care of anyone going against the incubatti society.  Everything just seemed fuzzy whenever I tried to remember. And yet here I was, planning on going against them all. "Jess, we're here," Roman said from the driver's seat. I looked up and saw Dom's mansion looming over me. I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't notice that we had arrived. I got out of the car and followed Blair and Roman to the door. Dominick had called Roman, inviting the three of us over. He said that since there has been an increase of incubus murders throughout the area, he wanted to see what was going to be our next course of action. This further proved that Lux was in fact, not the killer. Recently, from Staten Island, two incubi were murdered. Again, they were mutilated and decapitated. All the crime scenes were the same. Everyone's starting to become wary because now that Lux is in Dom's custody, they expected there to be no murders. However, it seems it has only picked up since Dom took her. Roman told me that the elders are thinking that it's a group of succubi killing incubi. There's no way that one succubus could be killing all these men. However, I think that it isn't just succubi. Other supernaturals must be involved. The door was answered by a short succubus that wore a collar to tight around her neck, it left red marks. In white letters, there were initials that read D.P. Dominick was playing around. She smiled at us, but it didn't quite reach her eyes. She was afraid. The control that Dom showed was fear, nothing else. I'm sure Blair hated the fact that Dom treated his succubi poorly. Blair loved his succubi. He gave each and every one of them attention.  Reveled in the s*x, in the unadulterated pleasure. Blair's succubi loved him and always wanted more of his magic. Roman, on the other hand, was stern, he didn't like to have his succubi all over him. He may be strict, but he was still respectful of them. He only had two claimed and they weren't wild. They were courteous and well mannered. Most succubi are influenced by their masters, so it's always interesting to see how they mingled with each other. Me, however? I still would not obtain a succubus. Every time I wanted to my whole being went against it. I was happy where I was. The short succubus brought us upstairs into a hallway I was unfamiliar with. There were a series of doors lined up and she brought us to the second. "Master Petrove is caught up with something at the moment. Take a seat inside. Would you want anything while you wait?" Roman shook his head. "No ma'am." He opened the door and walked inside. The room seemed more like a lounge room than anything else. Couches lined the wall and there was an open space that for some reason gave me a bad feeling. Blair stopped in front of the succubus and leaned close to her. "If you ever need help in any way, you can come to contact me. I will answer and come and get you in a moment's notice." The succubus seemed nervous as he told her that. She shook her head. "No thank you. I'm fine here Master Elcen." "Call me Blair. What's your name?" Blair asked concern etched on his face. "Ekaterina." A small voice came out of her. "Beautiful name. Remember, call me if anything happens," Blair took out a card from his suit. Ekaterina took it with both hands and nodded. "T-thank you." She quickly left. Blair sighed and followed Roman and me inside. "That's how you create problems with the head of this mansion, Blair." I took a seat on the edge of the couch, not wanting to feel comfortable here. "Hah, that's funny coming from you. Last time I checked, you're the one who is in kahoots with one of Dom's succubi," Blair said snark laced in his words. I glared at him. "f**k you. You don't know the situation." "I do. You're in love with Petrove's succubus who doesn't give two shits about you," Blair snapped. I shot out from my seat and lunged at Blair. Roman got in between us and glared at me. "We do not fight our brethren. Especially when it comes to a succubus. You're better than this." "Perhaps not," Blair scoffed. We were all beginning to get stir crazy. It was starting to happen. You could never have too many incubi in one place. "What's your problem, you bloody b***h!?" I snarled, my eyes starting to itch. "My problem is that you're trying to save a succubus from her own claim. Jess, you can't do s**t. This is out of your jurisdiction. Lux was his claimed since eight years ago." Blair explained, leaning against the farthest wall from me. Roman stood in the open space of the room, staring at me as if I was a bomb ready to explode. Or perhaps implode. "f**k you, Blair." "Awe, are you guys fighting over me? Don't worry there's enough to go around," Dominick guffawed from the doorway. He held his arms out as if he was an old family friend. I glared at him, not wanting to deal with his antics, especially since because of what Blair said. "I'm going to take a walk." "Don't get lost," Dom muttered as I passed by him. My eyes blazed as I locked gazes with him. I'm sure he knew that I knew what he meant. I huffed and pushed passed him, wanting to calm down some. Something was up with Blair and I didn't like it. I had first noticed it in the car when he first didn't acknowledge me when I got in. I walked down a series of bigger hallways. Just thinking about what the f**k to do. I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone where nothing was really going my way. "f**k this, man," A familiar voice sounded near me. I lifted my head and saw that there was a room door open. There stood Jamie, dressed in muddy jeans and a bloodied t-shirt. I approached him with caution, just in case he wanted to attack me. "Jamie?" Jamie's head snapped up, revealing a gruesome black eye. "Storm?" "I heard from Tessa what happened. How are you holding up?" I asked, noticing he was standing in front of a desk, sifting through stacks of paper. "Aw, mate it's been... hard. How is Tess? Is she okay? What about Lux?" Jamie stared at me with wide eyes as if he couldn't believe I was here. "Tessa is fine, she just has some incubus bodyguard watching her at your place. Lux, on the other hand, she's paying for it pretty bad," I replied, worried about how she was currently. "Goddamnit! It shouldn't have been her paying for it. It should be me. I did most of the work," Jamie cursed, running a hand through his hair.  "What happened for Dom to be like this?" "We killed him, Jesse. We couldn't take his treatment anymore. After his brother died, he completely lost it. We knew we couldn't take it anymore. We knew it was time to end it. So we did. We drove him insane with grief, weakened him until Lux attacked him and I helped give the killing blow. I then got her out of there and we stayed hidden until we knew it was safe." Jamie explained, "We couldn't stay there. The way he treated Lux. The deplorable conditions he left her in. He had me always clean up... after he was done with her. I didn't know what to do. All I knew is that I couldn't see her like that again. He broke her spirit and if I know him enough, he's going to do it again if she stays in this house. You need to get her out, Jesse. I know we have our differences and I know that she isn't your claim, but whatever you feel for her, please use it to save her." Jamie looked desperate as he stared at me. His eyes were filled with fear and hope. I didn't want to be the one to tell him that I wasn't going to save her. I knew I was going to save her and seeing him stare at me like that made me even more determined to get her out of here. "I swear I'm going to try and take her from here. When was the last time you saw her?" I asked. Jamie sighed. "I saw her yesterday. She was looking for me and beat the answers out of a succubus who was supposed to give her a shower. Lux was apparently saving her strength because she incapacitated the succubus. Lux ended up finding me and screaming at me to run, but Dom go to her first and beat her senseless. She lost it, man, she snapped at him, fighting for her life, but Dom just smacked her head against the floor like she was nothing. He brought her to the basement I believe. He didn't want her finding me again." I frowned, staring at Jamie's wrist. "You're not being tied here. How come you don't escape?" "And leave Lux here? No. I don't need to run away I need to think of a way to get her out. Plus, he'll use Tessa against me. He'll threaten to kill her. Or do worse things," Jamie shuddered. "You gave up your claim of them. You handed it to him," I growled, angry that Jamie could've done more. The coward. "I couldn't fight him off. He had Tessa in his arms ready to kill her! I couldn't let that happen," Jamie pleaded. "So you let her suffer a worse fate? By the hands of an incubus that will surely kill her when he gets bored?" I snapped, glaring at him. Jamie stared at the papers on the desk, his head down and his knuckles clenched white. "I'm not strong enough." "You're a coward. Come find me when you miraculously grow some." I stormed off, finding a staircase to go down to the basement. After a while, I was sure I was lost in the house until I fought a door with a padlock on it. Looking around and making sure no one was around, I grabbed the lock and yanked it off. The door opened with a creak and lead to a dark staircase. If this wasn't the basement, then I didn't know what it could be. I walked down the staircase and was lead into a small tunnel until the tunnel tapered off into a small room. Yep, definitely the basement. It was a room that had no windows and it looked disgusting. This house was so lavish, but when it came to the basement, it looked like something out of a horror film. As I surveyed the room, I noticed a wall full of sharp objects. A cold sweat formed down my spine, wondering if Lux was ever a victim of those sharp utensils. I hope not. I saw a figure once again in a corner and I knew instantly it was Lux. I don't know how it was possible, but she had gotten worse. The injuries were worse, everything was looking bad. I grabbed her frail arms and noticed it looked like she considerably lost weight. Luxinia stirred and raised her head up at me. Her eyes were wide and full of fear. "Jesse?" She croaked, "no you can't be here. He'll find out. I'll suffer more. I'll get punished. Go away!" She tried to scream, but her voice was too hoarse. I could barely make out what she was saying. "Lux, please. I needed to see you. I'm going to get you out of here I promise you that," I kissed her forehead, knowing that seeing her like this was doing weird things to my chest. I felt out of breath and whenever I tried to breathe a sharp pain followed. "Go away," She breathed. I stared at her wrist and noticed there was a manacle attached. Her wrists were so battered I could see her skin peeling away to show bone. I ran a hand through my hair and sighed. Jamie wasn't the coward. I was. I was the coward if I didn't get up and pick her up, saving her from this place. Now wasn't the time though. I needed to plan everything before I took her. Just a few more days. "I'm taking you away from here. I promise. Be strong and hold on." I kissed her chapped bloodied lips and stood up, feeling the pain in my chest more as I walked away. |~~~| |Luxinia| Feeling Jesse walk away from me made my heart crumble. I just needed to be done with this nightmare already. I felt like I was in this never-ending loop of hell and as each day passed it got worse and worse. I felt helpless and I hated to feel that way. I didn't know what to do. I couldn't rely on Jesse saving me. I needed to get up and save myself. Staring at the wall of surgery tools, I knew I needed to grab one and hide it. Ultimately, Dom's arrogance will always be his downfall. He thought that I was so weak that I couldn't reach those weapons he had on the wall. Well, he was partly right. My ankles were sprained and there was no way I was going to unfurl my broken wings. That was the most horrible thing I attempted. It was right after Dom managed to break them and I tried to fly out of here, but the most excruciating pain came when I tried to move them. So that was definitely out of the equation.  I grabbed on to the manacle that was attached to my wrist. I needed to at least get this thing off. It was going to rip off my wrist if I kept it on any longer. I grabbed on to the pole that was attached to the chain and I used it to pull myself up. My shoulders ached in protest, especially when I needed to grab hold of the pole so I wouldn't fall. My legs weren't working the way I wanted to. I was going to fall right back down if I didn't support my weight in my arms. I gingerly put weight on my left ankle, feeling the biting sting on the bottom of my feet. I had numerous cuts along my ankles and under my feet, making it even more difficult to get up properly. I stared at the little arsenal that was against the wall. If I could just make it to it and grab something, anything to hurt Dom, then everything would be fine. Righting myself, I put weight on my right ankle next. This one hurt considerably less which was good in my case. The wall was grippy since it was made of bricks that jutted out haphazardly.  This was good. I could grab onto the bricks for support. Little by little, I stumbled and limped over to the wall. The chain dragged behind me, making a loud scraping noise against the floor. I prayed that the chain was long enough for me to reach the wall. I turned around and saw that there was just enough chain for me to reach the closest set of weapons. There were numerous scalpels and weird things that looked like tiny knives. These were my speciality. I knew how to use knives very well. Grabbing to over them, I pressed them against my palm and flipped it through my knuckles. I could make do with this. I grabbed a scalpel just in case. Lacing the two knives between my fingers, I knew I didn't have to use much strength for these to hurt Dom. I crawled back to my spot and leaned against the wall, determination set in my bones. I was ready to fight back. I don't know how long it took, but eventually, Dom came down. He had a haughty grin on his face and I so desperately wanted to wipe that smile off his face. He took his time approaching me, staring at every part of me. I made sure that the knives were hidden within my fingers. "Jesse was here today. I'm sure you knew that already. I know he came to see you again," Dom crouched in front of me, his eyes meeting mine. His eyes were full of malicious intent and at that moment I knew I needed to get out more than ever. I would die here. "He wanted to see if I was okay," I said, voice still hoarse. I hated how weak it sounded. Dom chuckled slowly, grabbing the chain and unlocking it from the pole. I took an inward sigh of relief. "I bet there's something more than just that. I don't know how close you guys are, but I know for a fact that there's something more going on that I don't know about. And you know that I don't like not knowing things. It makes me very angry. So you're going to tell me, okay?" Dom grabbed my jaw and brought my face close to his. My lips were millimeters away from his and my heart was pounding. It was now or never. I grabbed his hair and snapped his head back quickly. With a shout, I sliced his neck with the knives. His neck opened up like a fresh bag of cherries. The knives were sharp and there were two long slashes along his jugular. Jamming the scalpel in his eye, I shot up from where I was sitting. Dominick started choking on his own blood and was screaming as he held his eye. He would be there for a few minutes. Hopping along the wall, my fingers were gripping at every brick I could to leave. The stairs were so close. My knees dropped on the stairs and I was crawling up them like the devil was on my heels. And perhaps he was.  I grabbed the door and threw it open, the bright light from the hallway blinding me. Doors were surrounding me and I didn't know where to go. I hobbled along the hallway, dragging the chain attached to me and trying to figure out where to go. My breathing was uneven, I needed to calm down. The fear of him grabbing me again, of him doing unspeakable things to me, it propelled me forward. "Luxinia!" Dom roared, his voice way too close for my liking.    The last door was opened and I took a sighed of relief. It was a small room, but there was sheets covering the furniture. HIding in this room would be perfect. I knew I couldn't run from Dominick so I would have to do outsmart him instead. He wouldn't think that I would just stop somewhere. Footsteps were coming closer. My breathing hitched and I hid under one of the sheets. The furniture it was covering was a table and I prayed that he wouldn't come in and lift up the sheet. It wasn't until a few moments later that I felt it. The pure need. My loins roared for someone to touch me. The s*x energy in the air fully enveloped me and I knew that this was how Dom wanted to find me. He was throwing off waves and waves of his s*x magic. I couldn't handle this, I was too weak. Moan for me. I covered my mouth, desperately trying to keep myself quiet. I couldn't stop the small whimper that came from me.  Dominick walked through the door and grinned at me. "Ah, that never fails." He grabbed my ankle and yanked me out from under the table. His neck was still bleeding and one hand covered his eye. I tried fighting him off, in fear that he would kill me this time. I couldn't take this. I needed to fight. I tried my best to kick him, but ultimately I was more in pain than him. Dominick dragged me further out and slapped me hard across the face.  "I'm going to have fun with this."
