Once I saw 'Dominick' kill that man, I quickly knew it was time for me to leave. This was getting too real too fast. The Demon Consul would find out about this, and I don't want to be involved when they came.
That was most certainly insane. An incubus. Why was he there? Was that his actual name? Did he know about what happened to the real Dominick?
This wouldn't bode well for me.
No one could ever find out about what happened then. If they did, the council would murder me. Or worse.
I had no choice but to kill Dom. Before he killed me.
Dominick Petrove used to be my incubus master. Each incubus had a succubus or two as a submissive. I was the only one he really focused on. When I had first met him, he was pretty nice. Charming, even. Most incubi weren't as sweet as him. I never understood why the incubi treated succubi the way they did. There could've been a more peaceful way for everyone to get what they wanted.
Everything changed when his brother, Daemon disappeared and never returned. Dominick became more erratic and impulsive than he already was. A true incubus. Perhaps he was always crazy and he just hid that part of him. He started forcing me into things doing things I never wanted to do. He would yell at me. Tie me up and leave me alone for hours. Each day it got worse, taking a whip to my back and giving me welts each night. I would lose count after fifty-six, the pain so unbearable I would pass out. When I would come to, there would be a bowl of water on the floor next to me.
It took me four years before I snapped. Four years of being locked in the Petrove mansion, being some sort of pincushion. Having regenerative healing abilities was my worst enemy. It took me days to heal, but when I was in tip-top shape, he would start again.
I had to end his life before he ended mine.
I waited, I waited for him to slip up. I talked about Daemon, made him snap. Dominick was extra rough that night. He broke me down, tore me piece by piece and by the time he was done I could barely move.
One of his slave girls came to his basement torture chamber and cleaned the blood off. I took her by the neck and forced her to be with me, to give me s*x energy. He made the mistake of using humans as maids. I don't know how the Demon Consul didn't stop him.
I escaped from his chamber and found him, ripping his heart from him. I don't remember much during that time. All I remember was his ring. I took his ring before I fled. His ring was a constant reminder that I overcame him.
I sighed, trying to shake the painful memories from my mind.
Once I arrived home, Tessa and Jamie were on the couch. Except they weren't watching TV. Tess was blowing Jamie off.
At this point, I was pretty much used to coming home and finding them doing some s****l act. They were Jamie and Tessa. Jamie was an incubus, it was bound to happen. They needed to feed somehow.
Jamie was the one who helped me escape Dom. Jamie never agreed with any incubus rule only because of the fact that he was raised in a home full of succubi. He knew what hardships we went through and he sought to fix them. He was always my right-hand man.
Jamie used to live at Dom's mansion before. That's where I met him. He was an apprentice studying Greater Incubi. Living in the Petrove house for four years was an unsightly horror. You started to forget what was real or what was insanity.
Later on, we met Tessa. With her help, we were able to integrate ourselves back into society. She never asked what happened to us, she just made sure she was always there for us.
Tessa let go of Jamie's c**k between her lips. "Where'd you go?" She asked, right before taking his c**k into her mouth again. Jamie moaned softly, grabbing her head and pushing it down. Jamie raised his head and stared at me. "Would you like to join in, love?"
My n*****s hardened slightly watching Tessa choke and gag on his c**k. I shook my head, too worried about what happened at the club. I headed over to the kitchen and sat down on a stool. "I bumped into an incubus who almost killed me."
Jamie tensed and pushed Tessa back, standing up and fixing himself before approaching me. "Which one?"
"I don't know. Tall, black long hair, shaved on the sides," I shrugged, munching on a box of crackers.
Jamie took a stool and sat across from me, his light eyes inspecting me. "Silver eyes?"
I narrowed my eyes in concentration. Jamie had such an intense gaze, I felt if I didn't describe this incubus, Jamie would die. "Come to think of it, he did have silver eyes, but I didn't get to see them that well. His eyes were in incu-form."
His eyes were something I had never seen before, but with him in half transition, the memory of them was beginning to fade from my mind.
"Storm," Jamie blew a breath out.
"So he's stalking Lux now?" Tessa asked, preparing a kettle as she walked into the kitchen. She grabbed Jamie's crotch as she walked past him, smirking.
"No, listen, Storm doesn't chase people, never. People chase him. If he's stalking you, Lux, you better answer him. If you don't, it'll be worse than Dom. His claimed succubus went missing. Some say that he killed her violently," Jamie's eyes were wide and wild. He looked frightened. Way more frightened than he was when Dom was alive. He even ignored Tessa's advances.
"So let's say that Jesse Drake is Storm, what would he want with Lux?" Tess asked, fear clearly evident on her features as well.
We all became silent for several seconds.
Suddenly, a high pitched noise ripped through the air. Tess jumped and took the kettle off the stove. I turned to Jamie "What does he want with me?"
"That's the scary part, I don't know."

The next morning, my nerves were slightly rattled. I was concerned about the situation. I wasn't scared of Storm himself but scared of the fact of what he wanted. If he wanted to know about Dominick there was nothing to tell. I had my full-proof story. I fled the mansion to see some friends. While I was gone, Dom went missing. When I came to see Dom he was dead. No one thought otherwise. Not Xavier, not Blair. I was in the clear. As long as Blair thought I was saying the truth, the Elcen clan trusted me. As for the Petrove, they all hated me.
I took a deep breath as I made my way to my office, Kimi had taken a few weeks off, which I gladly let her. It was completely understandable after what she went through. So far I had three meetings in a row with upcoming authors. Without Kimi, I was a complete mess. My intern was not helping much either.
I stared at the waiting room, there was a man hunched over reading a book with a cap on, then I looked to other men on the other side of the room. One was tapping his leg nervously and the other look plain scared. I smiled at both of them and walked towards my intern.
"Who's next?" I murmured to my intern. He jumped, not realizing I was hovering over his desk.
"Uh, well, um, Mr. Peterson is scheduled, but Mr. Drake keeps insisting to see you," My intern explained hurriedly.
I whirled around, my eyes blazing red. Mr. Drake was standing right in front of me, his cap pulled low. I folded my arms. "Very well, follow me, Mr. Drake."
I went over the number of weapons I had in my room and exactly where they were. Three knives taped under my desk, a gun in my drawer. Three knives under the desk, gun in the drawer.
I opened my office door and turned on the light. Jesse Drake came and sat on my desk, taking off his cap. "Sit," he replied, motioning to my chair.
I narrowed my eyes in anger. I finally took a closer and better look under the bright light of my office. Most incubi were good looking but oh dear lord, Jesse Drake definitely sexy. His jet black hair was picked up into a bun and the sides were shaved. His skin-kissed all but glowed in this lighting. I studied his face, looking over each feature slowly. His lips were a natural pout and it lined up with his ski-slope shaped nose.
But his eyes, dear god, his eyes topped the cake. He was definitely from Asian descent, but his eye color was truly silver. Not grey, not blue, but silver. They seemed to glimmer in the lighting and it slightly unnerved me. This man was tall and lithe, and not the typical six feet tall. He was much taller than six feet, making my office space seem smaller. That made me even more defensive than I already was.
He was nothing like Dominick.
"Luxinia Steele, I've been searching for you. Too bad you ended our meeting short last night," Jesse's voice sounded like melting cream, with a slight deep English rasp. It sent shivers down my spine, and not the good kind.
"You killed that man. He was trying to help," I snapped, walking towards my desk. I sat down and opened the drawer slowly, hoping he didn't notice.
"He was in the way of me and you," Jesse said simply. His body language, the way he carried himself; screamed power. I felt the waves of his incubus power undulating towards me. I normally had a tolerance against incubi and their s*x energy, preventing it from arousing me, but this... this was on a totally different level. This power was of a Greater Incubus.
I rolled my eyes. I was done with his s**t. "Listen, I don't know why you're here, but I won't be your succubus b***h," I snarled, grabbing blindly at a knife in my desk drawer. I then slipped it into my sleeve.
Without warning, Jesse had me pinned against the wall. I hadn't even seen him move an inch. I hope he didn't notice my knife. My eyes drifted to his. Jesse leaned in closely, his lips grazing mine. "Don't flatter yourself, darling. I'm not in the shop for a new squeeze." His hand held up both my wrists over my head, completely pinned. His thighs pressed against mine, preventing mobility.
"Yeah, I heard you killed your last one," I spat.
Jesse's eyes blazed black, staring at me in disgust. "Have you ever heard of someone caring too hard? Loving too hard? f*****g too hard?" His lips were now grazing my ear, sending unwanted chills down my spine.
"No," I said breathy, my eyes lowering to his lips.
They started to curve into a sensual smirk. "Wouldn't you love to f**k me? Too bad you can't, Xavier's mansion is the closest you'll get."
I tensed. So it was Jesse at the mansion. Jesse's grip tightened on my wrists. The knife in my sleeve started digging into my skin. The more his grip tightened, the more it started to puncture my wrist.
Jesse laughed quietly, his chest rumbling against mine. "You used to be Dom's girl. You're going to help me find who killed Jonathan Bluton and when the Demon Consul come poking around, you're going to be my star witness to defend me."
I shook my head. "f**k off. You must be insane if you think I'm going to lie to the Demon Consul," I spat.
I winced in pain at the cut on my arm.
Jesse seemed to notice and he added more pressure to my arm. He smiled like a true sadist and used his other hand to dig into my wrist. I screamed as he pried the knife out.
"Oh, looky, looky. Looks like someone was going to kill another incubus," Jesse threw the little blade across the room. He leaned closer, nose touching nose, "I suppose I'll go to the Demon Consul then."
"I didn't kill anyone," I said quietly, "and the knife was self-defense."
Jesse threw his head back and laughed harshly. "You honestly think they'll believe you? All I have to do is tell them that you were the one who killed Jonathan Bluton and the human in the bar. You may have the Demon Consul believing your powerless story of bullshit, hell even half of the Greater Incubi, but me, you cannot fool me. I know what is the truth."
I shook my head. Jesse couldn't know. No one knew about the truth except Tess and Jamie. They wouldn't dare say anything. "No, I'm not."
"Did Jonathan know?"
I raised a brow. Why did he keep talking about Jonathan? "I don't know him."
Jesse narrowed his eyes. "He was killed. You probably knew about that."
A giggle bubbled up in my throat. An incubus actually going to all this trouble to find out if one of his little buddies were murdered. It made me laugh, especially since it was almost like Jesse was begging for information.
"I don't kill creatures like you."
"Who's your master?"
"Dom died, I don't have one." I lied, Jesse didn't need to know any of that information.
Jesse looked as if he was about to say something, but an Apple ringtone ripped into the air and he hastily took his phone out. He checked the caller ID, while still having his arm pinned against my neck.
"What?" He snapped.
I immediately recognized the other man on the line. It was Blair... f**k. Jesse was already affiliated with him.
"Storm, you have to come here quickly. Another one has been murdered."
Jesse tensed up immensely after hearing Blair's words. I stood perfectly still, knowing if I moved an inch, I would piss him off more.
"I'm with our star suspect now," Jesse snapped, his silver eyes flitting to me.
"Yeah well bring her too, they found a dead human in Occult, you were both described at the scene of the crime. The human cops, Jesse. You better get here before the Demon Consul finds out." Blair hung up.
I cursed, knowing I would be in a situation like this. "I'm not a killer, Storm. And I'm sure as Hell, not a detective."
Jesse's lips grazed mine as he ventured down my throat. "Fine, but if you say you didn't kill him then, you're going to help me to find who did. And we need to make sure our story is straight. The Incubatti Consul won't contact the Demon Consul unless there's treason. They'll cover it up for us, but we need to make sure our story is lined up."
I shoved him away, using his thigh to kick him away. He hissed and glared at me. I stepped closer, tilting my head as I felt my eyes itch, a little warning that my eyes were soon about to go red.
"Listen. I take orders from no one, I'm a succubus that no one wants and I have kept it that way for years. Yes, I am saddened that another incubus is dead, but I have nothing to do with that. Understood? You can request my help, but nonetheless you will not boss me around. Now I will say whatever needs to be said in order to make sure I am safe at the end of the day," I explained, glaring at him, "How dare you pull me into your problems."
Jesse shook his head. "This is our problem now."
