JULIET'S POV

I woke up hearing those words inside my head, its like echoing repeating in my head. He said that to me last night, he means that he can’t feel my heart the same way I’m felt his heart.

Yes! I am bothered by it. What if my heart doesn’t beat like him because I don’t have feelings for him? Or am I denying it?

“Ms. Jules?” someone is knocking on my door. I totally forgot, im still at the team building. “yes?” I opened the door. “you just woke up?” jasmine asked.

“yeah you know what happened yesterday so I just too a long rest I guess.” I said. “its a good thing you’re okay. I just came here to check on you. And this.” Then she handed me a tray with breakfast.

“eat breakfast sir romeo told me to tell you that. He also mentioned that you can rest for today.” Jasmine said.

“what about the team building?” I asked.

“it’s still going on, ms gsale is in bed rest too.” I nodded my head. “okay thank you, jas. Tell sir romeo too.”

“sure. Wait, Im just curious, are you guys dating?” I cough a little because of her question. “what? No! no! we-we’re not dating. You should go now your missing out the fan downstairs” I smiled awkwardly at her. “okay. Take rest bye!”

“bye!” I waved and closed the door. Do we look like we’re dating? Speaking of that, he’s not even asking me that. He just told me likes me and he’s falling for me but no question like that. Confusing right?

NIGHT

When the night came I became better and I decided to go down to see what’s happening. Me and gale meet each other at the hallway so we can go there. The party. We’re hearing noises so we got curious about it.

“omg! It’s a party indeed!” gale said. We got excited and decided to go there. Everyone’s asking if we are okay now and can handle the party. “of course!” both of us said and we laughed it off.

I see sir romeo having fun, I mean laughing with sir pao this is the first he actually have fun … without girls I think? “hey! Im going to get drinks you want some?” gale asked.

“yes please!” I said.

“alright be right back” I wait her at the high table. All of my co-workers were having fun. They had team games a while ago and now we’re having a party.

Sir romeo and I lock each other’s stare, he decided to approach me. I was waiting for him to approach me when ms. Lisa, one of our director in mall apparoached me first.

“yes ms lisa?” I said. She looked worried, “mr. Randy called me and there was a fire at the mall.” She said.

“what? Which mall?” I asked.

“the middle SF Store. Someone put bomb on-“ I stopped her as I saw sir romeo near us. “Let’s talk inside.” I whispered. Then we left.

Ms. Lisa told me everything, she said that someone from the La Kitchen Restaurant left the stove open and it explains the fire. “did anyone got hurt?” I asked.

“couple of people ms.”

“okay, here’s what were going to do ms. Lisa—“

“shouldn’t we tell sir romeo?” she asked. I remembered sir. Romeo’s face a while ago. “no, this is not something that needs his authorization we can handle this. I don’t want to ruin the team building because of this. You know him, right? He will stop this once he knew about the fire.” I said. She nodded.

“alright, so first we have to make sure that we will take responsibility of those got injured okay? Then second call our insurance guy and lawyer so we now what to do. Then last, mr. randy needs to talk to the owner of the restaurant I mean we need to know how we can manage it. Okay?”

She noted everything, “should I do it? Because—“ she stopped me from talking, “nope ms. Jules, you deserve this team building we owe it all to you. I’ll handle this.”

“okay thanks ms. Lisa. Just update me okay?”

“okay.” Then she left. I decided to go back to the party and then gale was already dancing with sir pao. “girl where’s my drink?” I asked.

“I drunk it! Where have you been?”

“restroom. Alright I’ll get mine. Have fun dancing”

“okay beyatch!”

I approached the bar and ordered a drink. Just a ladies drink because I don’t want to repeat what happened before. “ms. Jules.” He appeared out of nowhere.

“yes sir?”

“why did you ditch me back there? What did you talked about with ms. Lisa?” he asked. oh no, I’m not a good liar. “umm, you know just something about what happened to me! She just asked me if im okay.”

“okay I trust you.” Then he he chuckled. He tossed my glass before he left me.

After few drinks, why am I tipsy? Its just a ladies drink! Alright I need to cool down. So decided to went to my bedroom but francis pulled me.

“why?” I asked.

“you and gale are gonna dance! Your college dance!”

“what?no!”

“come on! Don’t be a negative viber!”

“come on girl! This is our time to shine!” gale is pulling me to the stage. The two of them. “no I don’t—“ it’s too late. I am on the stage and the crowd is shouting and clapping.

“gale I don’t remember the dance anymore!” I said.

“its okay! We can do this!” she said and winked at me. Oh no, I saw sir romeo at the crowd smiling and cheering at me?

Then the song played, that one song that I chose to forget when I was in college. The “Dance Again” of Jennifer Lopez. Im hiding my talent in dancing here at office but now thanks to gale I need to let it out.

First verse she will dance first, then for the second stanza I will have my solo. Everyone is shouting, im showing my dance skill for the first time and my boss can’t stop staring at me.

Then for the chorus both us will dance, ironically, I remember all of the steps. Probably because this song made us champion back in college.

Not just in school but we even made it to the finals and world dance jam. There we got our trophy as one of the best dancers not the world dance jam trophy but other. Well, we got lucky we got in so we didn’t regret not being the champion.

“whooh! Let’s give around of a applause for our not one but two jeniffer lopez in the house!!” france said and everyone is shouting.

“omg!! You still got the moves girl!” gale said.

“I don’t know how but maybe because of alcohol?” I said and we laughed. “nice one babe!” sir pao appeared and kiss gale in front of me. I rolled my eyes and left them.

I was looking for sir romeo when I saw him with another girl, wow just I thought he change. But no, still a chick magnet, he is even caressing that girl’s hair. Why am I not surprised?!!

They looked at my direction, I rolled my eyes and run away from there. Ugh! Just I thought he is serious about liking me! No of course he is not!

“ugh! All boys are same! They’re all same! Why am I still hoping for a good guy to pass by?” I said to myself. I want to walk to the beach to let this out. I removed my sandals. “see?! I even brought this new cute sandals for this!”

“ms Jules!” oh I know that voice. “no no no! I will not believe you ever again. You boys are all same! You will let a girl believed in you then-“

“so you belive me?” he interrupted me. He is now slowly approaching me. “no.” I avoided his stare.

“ae you jealous?” he asked. “wow! Me? Jealous? Are you kidding sir?” I rolled my eyes at him. “come on, you’re jealous.”

“please stop walking. I am not jealous! Go ahead and do whatever you want I don’t care. Sir.” I said. Then I felt the wall behind me. Oh no, did he purposely did this to come closer to me?

“you have nowhere to run, ms. Jules.” He said.

“what are you going to do sir?”

“nothing. But to ease your mind ms. Jules? Me and that girl are not flirting. Her name is Lisa the one that you talked about earlier. She told me about what happened to the mall.”

I looked at him, “she told you?”

“I asked her to tell me. I mean, I was there when you guys talk about it. I was listening. I asked her an update. Do you want to know?” I got silence.

“I’m sorry sir if I I didn’t tell you about it.”

“its okay. I know you can handle it. The responsibility, insurance team, lawyer, good strategy ms. Jules. She told me that everything is under control thanks to you.” He said.

Well that’s good to know at least it didn’t blow up everything right? I mean---

He is kissing me.

“I admit, yours is better than anyone else.” He said.

“th-“ I can’t speak because of what he did. He kissed me! Oh my ghad! “im not lying about what I said that I like you and I am falling for you. I am even crazy about you because of your dance on that stage and now, that lips, I want to put mine every minute and seconds. No trick, no joke. All truth.”

He said and kiss me again.

Do you know the feeling like you’re flying and everywhere you can hear your heart beating? Like everyone disappeared and all you can see is the one that you’re with right now. That’s what im feeling.

I don’t even want to stop kissing him I don’t know why, I don’t know why im still kissing this guy. He is good. All of my weight are on him now because I got weak by his kiss.

“i-im sorry, sir.” I pushed him and left him there. No, if I want to fall in love again I must move on from Erick. I don’t want to use him as rebound or something.

AFTER ONE WEEK OF TEAM BUILDING

Good thing one of the thing that we did on that team building is spa and massage. We released all of our toxic, stressed and every negative vibes.

Well, after that, me and sir romeo never talked. I mean after that night. Now we are back at the office, back to work and normal.

“hmm, it feels like the team building is yesterday.” Gale said while handing me the papers that sir. Romeo need to sign.

“you can give those papers to him directly.” I said while staring at the computer.

“I can’t go there. I am not allowed there.” She said. “he said if its only about papers, you can give it to him personally.” I said.

“okay.” Then she entered his room. I look at the glass and see his reaction. He just looked at me for a second and then on the papers.

“girl, lunch later?” gale said.

“okay.”

LUNCH

Im just eating salad with gale and jasmine. The two became closer so we became closer too. There’re busy talking with each other and here I am talking to my salad.

“ms jules?” jasmine said. “you can call me jules.” I said.

“you’re murdering the salad already girl!” gale said. “oh, im sorry salad.” I said. They both laughed. “what is going on with you?”

“nothing.”

“you just said sory to your salad something is not right with you spill it?” gale said. I shaked my head. “im good.”

“sir romeo approaching, 12 o’clock.” Jasmine whispered. What? Oh no! “I’ll go ahead, girls. Bye!” then I run away from them. I don’t want to face him! After what happened that night? No way!

Wait, later on I’ll have no choice but to face him! I am his secretary for heaven’s sake! “ms jules.” Its him! Okay time to run!

“later sir!” I shouted while running. Why does I keep bumping into him? I decided to stay at our coffee area. I bought my laptop there and work there.

“why are you here, ms jule?” france asked.

“nothing just want a new table.” I said. Please stop asking me!

“sir romeo is looking for you.”

“what?”

“yeah. He is outside of his office crazy looking for you and asking every staff he see.”

“ah right. I’ll go now then. Thanks!” I said. Then I grabbed my laptop and went to my desk. He is there, sitting on my table waiting for me.

“s-sir?” I said. He looked at me with a serious face, “where have you been? I need my secretary because we have a meeting to the owner of the restaurant right?” he said.

I looked at my watch, “we still have 30 minutes before the meeting sir.” I said. “so what? We’re gonna be late?” he asked. is he back to his self again? “no sir sorry.” I said.

“don’t apologize and talk to me.” He said. I look at him, “sir-“

“sir romeo? Excuse me, the owner came early and wants to start the meeting right away.” Someone interrupted us.

“okay we’ll be there.” He said. He approach me, “we will talk later after work, again jules, I am serious about you. I’ll wait for you on this park and if you come, it means you like me too and you can feel it too.” Then he left.

I didn’t say a word and followed him.

AFTER WORK

I know he is waiting for me there, he never lie but should I go there? What am going to do? I am here at my room going around lke a silly girl who don’t know what to do.

“sis?” jully suddenly opened the door. “what?”

“I thought you’re gonna be late?” she asked. “no, the meeting got early but what’s up?” I said. She approached my wardrobe and look at me. “can I borrow this?” showing me my skirt.

“yes sure.” I said.

“really? Nice!” she smiled. “wait, can I ask you something?”

“sure.”

“if someone said he will wait for you, will you go there even though your doubting about it?” I asked. she chuckled and tap my shoulder. “yes. Because first of all that person is waiting for you and second of all, it might be important for him and might be the answer to all of your questions.” She said.

“aren’t you heart-broken too? Why you look happy and move on vibe?” I asked. she smiled, “I found some that can make me look happy and move on. You should too.” She said and left my room.

ROMEO’S POV

Its been 1 and half hour, I am still waiting for her. I don’t know something about drives me crazy, I mean this is not me, I am not the type of guy who are waiting you know? Girls wait for me not me.

That night that we kissed? Its like unlocking an achievement on my life. Sound cheesy or weird but I really like this girl for real.

“oh s**t its about to rain.” I said. And then cue the raindrops but still I will not leave. She will come here no matter what I trust her.

Great I’m wet.

“sir1” then she appeared with yellow umbrella. Looked at me with worried eyes. “you came.” I said. “well its raining sir.” She said. “I told you not to call me sir when we are outside of work right?”

“let’s go now sir.” I didn’t move but I hold her hand and the one that holding the umbrella. “you came here means you like me too.” I said.

“sir—romeo listen to me.”

“I am listening.”

“yes, I like you but if im going to be completely honest with you Im still not yet move on from my past relationship. Its been one month but im still hurting.” I was just quiet.

“and we are doing this I don’t want us to come to a moment where you will realize im just using you so I can move on. No, I want to fall in love with you with completely with my heart.”

I don’t know if I ca still hiding my smile about what she is saying to me. “now the question is are you really going to wait for me? Am I really worth it?” she asked.

“juliet reigh vasquez, you are worth it in everyway.”

“then its yes, I like you.”

She smiled.

I smiled.
