I dropped the phone, listening to the way it smashed against the tiled floor.

That smash wasn't the phone, I thought.

It was my heart.

My broken heart.

I sunk my nails into my palm to prevent the tears from flowing.

How could a good day turn to a bad one?

Why had Aaron called?

I will never know because he fuckin hates me now.

Who the hell told Aiden to answer my goddamn phone?

I wanted to patch up with Aaron. He and Mel were the only thing I had that I could call family, my family.

I stormed downstairs to see Aiden with his arms crossed.

"Who the hell was that?" he asked.

"Clarisse, who the hell was that man?"

He slammed his fist on the table.

Oh so now he mad?

I crossed my arms and stepped closer to his face, whilst speaking at the same time.

"I. Have. No. Reason. To. Be. Scared. Of. You."

"Clarisse..."

"Fear me motherfucker! Because now you'll have a reason to be scared of me!"

"I what?" I laughed. "Guess the lion got a thorn on his tongue. Is it cause I'm up in your face?"

I grabbed his shirt.

"Are you scared? You should be! What the hell did you say to the man on the phone?!"

He pushed my hands off.

"Dammit Clarisse! I am not telling you anything unless you tell me who he is!"

"I don't need to justify s**t to you, just like I don't need s**t from you!"

"You're in my house, so you'll tell me!"

"You think I wanted to stay here? You kidnapped me!"

"Who the hell was that no good..."

I felt myself boiling up.

"Insignificant..."

That was it. I raised my arm and flung one slap to his face.

Then the tears came and I hated myself for being so weak.

"Clarisse, I..."

"That no good, insignificant, whatever else you were saying?"

He put his hand on my shoulder. I threw it off.

"That was my brother on the phone."

He stilled, not knowing what to say.

I sobbed, slumping to the ground.

"And whatever the f**k you said, just ensured that I don't have a brother."

"Clarisse, I'm so sorry."

Just then, I saw red. Another sorry, another fuckin apology.

I rose up, eyes blazing with anger.
