Day Twenty-Eight: Escape the Seira Forest (2)

As the monster watched John vanished from where he was, the monsters got no time to react to the sudden reappearance of its prey to its back.
John took noticed of its lowered guard, before jumping to the neck of the 5 meter monster. And as he reached the hairy neck of the monster, he put all of his strength to both his hand as he tried to plunged the Haki Reindeer Dagger to it's neck.
*c***k* *Snap*
A sound that destroyed all the hope he has, was heard.
The two, Rabbit and the Girl, running passed the monster halt their movements.
The weapon John was using, snapped in two the moment it reached the hairy mane of the monster.
The monster then looked towards the prey on it's back, and met eyes with John. The monster, the manticore, as if it expected the situation grinned towards John.
John shivered, the moment he saw the expression of the monster. 'He was playing with me...?! F*ck!!'
"RUUUNN!!!" John Shouted as he predicted what the monster would do next.
The two, Rabbit and the girl, immediately took hold of themselves before bursting into a sprint.
John jumped down from the back of the monster, before following the two.
"Run! Don't look back and run!"
"John!"
"Rabbit! Create a wall of earth now!"
"Okay!"
'Why...? Why did it have to be now?!' John thought as he fired 'Everyday Magic' towards the monster.
The monster, smiling towards them, chased them with a carefree attitude. It's like a cat playing with it's food.
"Where almost there!"
"Kukkuuoooar!!"
"It's gaining on us! C'mon run faster! Don't even think of fighting that thing!"
Running at her fastest, the girl was the first to get out of the dense forest, followed by the boy carrying the rabbit, before stopping on their tracks. The place they ended up was a beautiful plain of green, except for the great number of dark fur, that covered their vision.
'Don't tell me... they were waiting here...? Ha.Ha. Ha. hahhahahaha!!' John laughed to himself, before placing a hand to his forehead. 'Of all the places to be... why does it have to be here!?'
This monsters... Of all time to show up!
"Why now?! You Dog Bastards!" Infront of them, were Night Wolves, numbering in a hundred.
John growled, as he took out 8 Sagra Twigs from his 'Dimension Storage' each twigs placed between his fingers.
"Charge forward, I'll keep them away from your backs" He spoke as he lit each of the 8 Sagra Twigs with 'Everyday Fire Magic'.
"John. Can't. Take. All!" Shouted rabbit, as he readied his magic.
"All of us will die if you don't go! Move!" He shouted back.
The girl at their side, readied herself as well, she unsheathed her sword from its scabbard and took a stance.
"You, take rabbit and charge forward" John looked at the girl, and the girl looked back at him, before shaking her head.
"You stubborn f*cks! If all of us stay here, we will be massacred!"
The girl just shook her head, and rabbit already took his stance.
'F*ck, if none of them escape, I wouldn't be able to escape either! This Idiots! If we grouped up, all the agro would be on us!' John grumbled as he look over his shoulder, the monster of the Seira Forest is there, standing in all fours with a s**t-eating grin plastered on its face . 'Most of all... we're cornered!'
Perhaps realizing what John is thinking, the two moved to engage the Night Wolves infront of them.
John no longer has a weapon of his own, but he still has plenty of tricks up his sleeve.
Taking out a jar made of wood from his 'Dimension Storage', John immediately threw it to the wolves at his left and right, before firing two candle sized 'Everyday Fire magic' at it, resulting in an explosion and a surge of intense heat, due to the flame that devoured dozen of the Night Wolves.

-Powdered Sagra-
A jar filled with Sagra twigs and barks. The bark and twigs of the Sagra tree is turned into powder to enhance the explosive property of the tree.
'I did my best to make a better bomb just for you bastards!' John became deranged by the existence of the hundred Night wolves infront of him.
Due to the explosion, the Night Wolves surrounding them faltered and made an opening, John immediately took notice of it and shouted.
"There! Run!"
The girl sprinted with all her might, to get out of the cage created by the sheer number of the Night Wolves around her.
The rabbit supporting her from her shoulder, looked back towards John, 'He wouldn't be able to keep that up... we need help' deciding that, he spoke to the girl.
"Girl. Get. Help."
The girl nodded, as she runs faster than before.
Supporting each other, the girl took care of the Night Wolves at the front, while rabbit, took care of the ones going near from the side, while John fired support fire from the back.
And before long, the girl and rabbit was able to escape the enclosure.
Perhaps, noticing that two of its prey was able to get out, the manticores' smile disappeared.
"GROOOAARRR!!!" an ear-splitting roar was heard.
John quickly look back towards the manticore, before cursing, 'F*ck, it's going to move now!'
Throwing the 8 flaming Sagra twigs from his fingers to the Night wolves, John burst into a sprint, away from where the girl and rabbit run off to.
The thrown Sagra twigs, exploded simultaneously, burning dozens more. John then, threw more twigs towards the manticore, before he exploded it, but it was unscathed, not even batting an eye towards him, the manticore moved towards where the girl and rabbit is. But John didn't gave up, like a fly, buzzing around, John kept throwing more and more twigs from his storage and exploded them in groups, he also threw some powdered Sagra bark and twigs, before exploding them.
Irritated the manticore glared towards John.

"Khhuuuf! Haa... Haa..." 'F*ck, I almost died with just a glare?'
John nimbly moved away from the manticore as he keep on with his bombardment, now that his passive skill 'Grim Demeanor' has activated, his mind became much calmer. But that didn't mean the danger is gone.
The manticore finally ignored the running backs of the girl and rabbit, as it turned it's gazed towards the annoying insect that keeps firing explosive towards it.
'From my and rabbit's estimation it would take about a day or two to reach the first village... and if they're sending a force, it would take longer...! I'm screwed!' John while running for his dear life, calculated the time when reinforcements would come, not neglecting the fact that the monstrosity behind him is on another level, he didn't stop his bombardments, but that too has a limit, along with his declining stamina.
'There's also the fact, that they won't even bother to look into the case if they're told... Ugh!! I really hate this situation!!'
John who was dodging here and there, noticed an abnormality in the situation. The Night Wolves that were attacking him from here and there, was now nowhere to be seen, not a single one of them are.
John immediately look around, and there he saw them, chasing the a dot from the far distance.
'Sh*t! They're all chasing them! And this bastard's keeping me away!'
'Aahhh!! f*ck, f*ck, f*ck, f*ck, f*ck, f****ck!! Please survive'
Hoping from the bottom of his heart, John launched another Sagra power filled jar, and exploding it upon contact with the manticores body.
