The next day, I decided to leave the Count's manor early to say my gratitude to him and the other servants.
"Are you sure you won't need a carriage to go there?"
Standing at the gate, the count said this.
I nod my head.
"I plan to memorize my way there"
"Is that why you wany to left early?"
"Yes, and I also want to say my thanks to the others as well"
"Hmmm... Okay. Then I'll see you from time to time about that matter"
"Really... Thank you"
"It's fine, as long as you do not do anything that would harm my reputation"
"I won't. Say my thanks to the others, Mr. James"
"I will"
Saying those words, I left the count's manor.
I already asked the count to look for information about the girl and rabbit. He was reluctant at first, but thankfully he agreed at the end.
I want to know what happened to those two. Besides that fact that I'm worried, I don't want my effort to end up in vain.
If they died I would be really frustrated to the point of break down for a few minutes. I mean, didn't I actually sacrificed myself to save them? I almost died too.
Welp, if they survived, I just wished they don't forget about me...
Anyways.
"The Count's manor is really far from the 'Inner-Rings'" I muttered.
I can't understand why the commander of the King's knight live so far-away from the palace. Isn't that too insufficient and risky? Maybe the count has a place at the palace as well?
'What am I even thinking? I should savor my last moments of the outside world.'
Thinking those, I hastened my phase slightly.
I heard from Mr. James that the servant course has a once-a-week vacation. And that's the only time they are allowed to go outside of the 'Academy Grounds'. Meaning, during the weekdays, they are required to study or look for future masters.
"I would also be doing the same thing... Haa..."
They didn't tell me who among the King's child I was assigned to. I could make a few guesses but...
"It would be useless in the end..."
I don't know anything about the princesses nor the princes, it's not allowed to research anyting about the Royal Family, so I couldn't find anything.
That's why, I plan to ask the other servants while I'm there. Just asking about their personalities and appearances, would be fine. I think.
As I continue to wonder in my thoughts, I didn't forget to look around, remembering the way towards the 'Inner-Ring'.
By the way, I'm currently at the 'Middl-Rings'. It's where Count Vinceral's manor is located. I asked people the directions whenever I get lost, then would retrace my steps and moving to another path.
"Mister. How can the people here navigate their way out of this maze?"
I asked the man guiding me.
"Ah, you must be really new around here. Hmm... look" He said then pointed his fingers to the front.
I don't know which one he's pointing to...
"Can you see that arch?"
"Arch?"
'Are the arch he's talking about is those one?'
"I have seen them around, but are they important?" I asked.
"They are. Look behind us, you could see the same design as the arch infront of us"
Even without going near, I could see the designs due to my skills.
"Are they landmarks?"
"Correct. Every corner of this castle has different engravings on the arch that they have, you could find your way if you remember them all" the man said.
"Anyways, this is as far as I can go, you just need to turn left there and you'll be at the 'Noble District''
I bid my farewell to the man. I already paid him enough so I immediately followed his direction, and he was right.
I could see the tall mansions that have great distance among themselves.
'It's the 'Noble District' I thought.
This is where the shadows almost attacked me before. I'm just glad the count didn't order it, if he did. I'll 100% be dead, no questions ask. I'm still weak, too weak.
I walked down the district and looked around.
I could see other roads connected here.
Apparently, there are a lot, and when I say a lot. I mean a lot of numbers of roads. It's like, even if you just go straight and follow a specific road you'll end up here. That's just how amazing the number of roads here.
But they said that as you go further in the center the roads became less and less, but the maze like pattern increased.
"I wonder how they built this capital... Must be tiring as hell"
A few more minutes of walking and I finally arrived at the Academy grounds, infront of the civil academy.
I'm not wearing my butler uniform currently, but I do have it in a ready inside my storage.
'I can just change inside'
Thinking those, I went inside.
It's currently monday, if I would put it to my real world's date. And today is one of the few days that the servant course are required to go to any academy, aside from the civil course, to find a master for themselves.
They wouldn't be hired immediately as they would need the trust and approval of the head of the household that they would be working at.
"And I would need the approval and trust of the King and his child... Haa..."
As I walk through the hall, servants of different types walked passed me.
'They seemed to be busy' I thought.
As a new student here, the first order of business that I'm required to do is; change to my uniform and report to the head of the school. That's why my current destination is the comfort room.
Changing to my butler uniform, I then head to my next destination.
After a few mimutes of walking. I arrived infront of a dark-oak wooden door.
*Knock* *Knock*
"Come in" came the head's young voice.
I did as told and slightly bowed my head upon entering.
"You're already in your uniform. This would make things quicker"
"..."
"Alright. First, follow me"
The head, Mr. Luke Frill, stood up from his chair and went past me, then towards the dark-oak wooden door. I follow behind him.
"As you know, you'll also be doing what the other servant course do" he said.
"Of course, as you are currently new here. I would guide you first to the facilities of this academy, then I'll assign someone to guide you outside"
That's quite the treatment.
"Is is alright for the head of the Civil Academy to be guiding a sole student?"
"It's fine. We are inside my Academy, there wouldn't be a problem on that"
'...That sounds like a problem though' I thought.
If other people saw me walking with the head, I won't know what trouble might come my way...
'Haa... I'll just let my future self deal wit that'
With resolve, I follow behind Mr. Frill as he guide me through the Academy.
"Each course, has there own building assigned to them" he said "The building we are in is the servant course, assigned to help the other academies and courses, and is divided by their roles"
"Roles... Like majors?" I muttered.
Is the academy design in the same way the schools back in my world are? Or was it just a coincide?
"Yes, each students in every academy, except the scholar academy, have majors, be it magic, knight or civil academies, they would pick what they want to major"
"I'm no exception, right?"
"Actually, you are. As you are assigned to be a servant of a Royalty, you are required to be different from others" he said as he continues to walk.
"You have a lot of duties to do as a servant, but mostly, just being a chaperone and following them around is your job"
'Chaperone...that would be quite tiring. If my master is a prince that would good, but if my master is a princess... I better improve my stamina'
Resolving myself one again, I continue to follow Mr. Frill. Whenever we arrived in a facility, he would explain their purpose.
Mr. Frill tour me around the whole academy for the whole morning and only stopped whem noon came.
'He got an amazing time management' I thought.
We were able to tour the whole Civil academy in just 3 hours. It might seem long, but the scale of the Academies are no laughing matter. Especially the Magic Academy and Knight Academy who sometimes host tournaments (though I haven't entered any of them yet).
"It's noon already. Let's have lunch, then I'll assign someone to guide you outside"
I nod my head. I'm quite hungry myself.
"Let's meet again after an hour" Mr. Frill said.
I nod my head.
'I thought he's going to treat me...'
Welp. The food on the cafeteria earlier looks good, I'll try some.
Deciding that, I moved my feet towards the cafeteria.
