Crash!Crumble-
A young man dressed as a butler crashed towards the wall, causing it to crumble.
"Ugh..."
Cough!
He lay motionless against the wall, coughing up the blood that had gathered inside his mouth. He gently rose up after a minute, leaning against the wall he had been slammed against for support.
Kaiser, the young man, couldn't be regarded to be in a favorable situation from anyone's point of view. His clothes were tattered, his body was covered in wounds from slashes and stabs he couldn't avoid, blood had hardened all over him, and his left hand was broken at an unfathomable angle.
"..."
"A mere mortal dares to intervene in our resurrection? Fool, thou hast no hope of besting us; but be honored! For we shall give thee the honor of dying to our blade!""
Crash!
Kaiser rolled to the side to avoid the attack of the person in front of him.
Haa. Haa. Ha. Haa…
Despite his difficult breathing, he rose up and adopted his position, lowering his hips and pointed his broken dagger in front of him, his gaze unfazed.
"...Human, thou hast no chance against us; leave, and we shall spare thy life."
The robed man, the possessed Greg Urman, said, his golden eyes peering into Kaiser's very existence.
"Why put thy life in danger for the sake of others when thou canst live in peace?"
"..."
Kaiser did not respond, his black eyes fixed on his adversary's right hand, which held the sword.
"Thou death is the only end we see, and thou shalt die unable to achieve anything."
Crash!
Clang!
Kaiser barely tilted his body to the right, escaping the stab that was aimed at his neck and penetrating the wall behind him, he then parried the second blow with the broken haki reindeer dagger in his still able right hand, but...
"Kuhg!"
…a kick landed on his exposed flank, knocking him back a few meters.
"Weak. Brittle. We fail to grasp the point of thy struggle."
Clak-
Clak-
Clak-
The possessed Greg approached him with eyes filled with disinterest, as if staring at a bug, and his golden eyes met Kaiser's.
Clak-
Greg stop a meter infront of Kaiser.
"...It appears thy has no intention of speaking with us; therefore die!"
"..."
Greg ran towards Kaiser, his sword raised aloft, aiming for a quick kill. But, with the help of -Fate-, Kaiser narrowly escaped the attack, pulling himself towards the wall with the magic threads generated from his mana.
Their battle raged on once more.
Greg pursued Kaiser with assaults lethal enough to kill him in a single hit, but Kaiser, who possessed 'Quick Calculation,' 'Fear Conversion,' and other mental type skills, persevered and dodged every attack he could. He'd already hit his limit, but the effect of his skills, particularly 'Fear Conversion' and 'Poker Face,' allowed him to move.
'...Time is running short,' Kaiser thought as he cast a quick glance towards the reason he was fighting the possessed Greg Urman. Princess Eleonora Shuvan Ascorte Memphis, who had platinum-blue hair and a blue nightgown, lay in a corner of the room, she was slowly but steadily losing her life owing to the being who possessed Greg.
Kaiser reflected on what happened after he decapitated Greg as he continued to avoid the deadly attacks.
-
He was supposed to exit the chamber and escort Eleonora back to the King's Palace while carrying her in a princess carry. But before he could take another step, the headless Greg leapt to his feet and dashed towards them, causing him to back up and jump away from the entrance.
"Hii!"
When Eleonora saw the headless Greg, she let out a quiet cry. It was so bizarre that even Kaiser, who had his passive skills fully activated, hesitated for a split second before regaining his calm and running towards the door, his plan being to outrun the headless Greg. Even without the head that houses the eyes, the possessed Greg turned towards them as if he knew where they were, leading Kaiser to come to a halt and take a step back. Greg raised his sword and slashed at the top and sides of the door, causing it to fall, causing rubble to pile up and obstruct their path. They are now trapped inside the chamber with the headless Greg.
"...let me down"
Despite her dread, Eleonora kept her cool and said this to Kaiser.
"You... won't be able to fight properly if you're carrying me, right?"
"..."
Kaiser looked her in the eyes before gently placing her down. He was hesitant to do so because the chance of Greg attacking Eleonora was high. But, seeing the strength in her eyes, he did as he was commanded.
"Protect yourself with magic," he added as he turned to face the headless Greg. From the neck up, he was gradually recreating his lost head.
Kaiser didn't wait for him to recover before moving. He wrapped the threads of -Fate-, which were connected to him by mana, around Greg's limbs, and the vibration of the threads created a blade that wasn't a blade, severing Greg's arms and legs.
Thud-
Greg collapsed to the floor as his legs were cut, and Kaiser took advantage of the situation by commanding the remaining threads to behead him once more. But as soon as he did, a pain-filled cry rang across the room.
Kaiser immediately recognized the voice and turned to look for the person he was meant to rescue.
Greg Urman was there, he noticed. He was holding Eleonora's hands on her back with one arm and Eleonora's jaw with the other. He has the head and limbs that was supposed to be gone. Kaiser examined the area where Greg was supposed to be; it was still there, but he could tell it was an empty shell.
"...Human, thy attack has taken us by surprise, yet it is insufficient to kill us."
Greg spoke in a voice that was a cross between a feminine, a male, a child, and an elderly person.
Kaiser had already met someone with that kind of voice, but he was certain that the person he knew was not the same person inhabiting Greg Urman's body. After all, she does not speak in that manner.
"Let...me...go!" Eleonora cried, and icicles erupted in the air, swarming Greg as if they were metals pulled by a magnet.
"Khu!"
Greg let her go and backed away from where he was standing; Eleonora took advantage of the opportunity and dashed towards a corner, behind Kaiser.
Their gazes locked as they passed each other. Kaiser quickly turned to face the possessed Greg.
Clak-
Clak-
"The Vessel escaped... Nonetheless, we completed our mission."
Greg's golden eyes flashed with a terrible brilliance as he emerged from the smoke generated by the icicles.
"It's only a matter of time before we're resurrected."
When Kaiser saw Greg's unharmed appearance, he increased his guard even more. He couldn't see any way out now, and winning was out of the question.
Sssk-
Kaiser pulled the haki reindeer antler dagger from his 'Storage' and unsheathed it. He dropped his center of gravity and adopted his posture. Even though victory was impossible, he couldn't just let him kill them both; he would fight as long as his skills were still effective.
"Commendable. Human, thou hast the resolve to oppose us? Then we'll see what thou can do!"
Cracked-
Greg stomped the ground and ran at Kaiser as he said those things. He raised his sword above his head and sliced diagonally towards him. He was going for Kaiser's throat.
Kaiser who saw the action, immediately jumped away from where he was standing, and using the strings of -Fate- he pulled his body away from where Eleonora is.
Cracked-
Greg like a bull attracted to a red flag, kicked the ground once again, and chased after Kaiser.
"Human, thou hast no idea how foolish such action is!"
Crashed!
Crumble-
A wall was destroyed the moment it was hit by Greg's attack, debris fell to the ground, but a way out didn't appear. They were underground and there's only a single way out of the room.
'Tch'
Kaiser clicked his tongue inwardly. He could see the force in that assault; one mistake and he'd lose a leg or two, only if he was lucky.
'Dodging isn't enough for me; I need to counter-attack.... No, attacking would be more costly than simply moving about. But if I didn't do anything, I wouldn't be able to escape...! '
Crashed!
Kaiser evaded another another blow. He couldn't find a way out no matter how hard he tried, even with the help of 'Quick Calculation.' His skills recognizes how inadequate he was in comparison to the enemy in front of him, and his priority prevents him from taking impulsive acts.
"Thou hast no time to consider, the vessel is slowly dying with every second waste; human, show us what you're capable of!"
Cracked-
Crashed!
Greg dashed again, this time stomping the ground, and aimed his blade at Kaiser's heart. But Kaiser's heightened vision saw through the attack and immediately dove into the darkness.... That was a miscalculation.
"Ugk..."
Kaiser came from the darkness, unable to move his body. Greg's face emerged in front of him, his golden eyes gleaming and his body shrouded in darkness.
"... Thou hast the same skill as this one, but thou hast a greater degree than this," he said, "but... it was a mistake to utilize darkness in our presence; we are her followers, and we have authority over the darkness."
Pierced-
"Kugh!"
Greg stabbed Kaiser in the left thigh with the sword in his hand.
"Khmm!!"
Greg slid the sword through Kaiser's left thigh like a saw through a wooden log, then drew it up and plunged it back down. The agony caused Kaiser to bite his lips, causing blood to flow from them. Even though he was in pain, Kaiser's thoughts was preoccupied with what Greg had stated previously.
'Thou hast no time to consider, the vessel is slowly dying with every second waste' 'Thou hast no time to consider, the vessel is slowly dying with every second waste' 'Thou hast no time to consider, the vessel is slowly dying with every second waste'
He silently repeated the words, attempting to comprehend what he had uttered. Then he noticed Eleonora, who was resting against the wall, her face ashen pale, and her eyes slightly clouded. He remembered the moment he kidn*pped Eleonora and did not hunt her down when she escaped; he had already done what he needed to do, and she was dying as a result.
'She was on her deathbed...'
Kaiser finally used his final mental type passive skill, 'Fear Conversion.'
————————
[Notification]
'Fear Conversion' has been enabled.
Converting fear into stats.
-There is a lack of strength; increasing strength
-There is a lack of agility; improving agility
-There is a lack of Intelligence; growing intelligence
-There is a lack of stamina; improving stamina
————————
When 'Fear Conversion' activated, Kaiser's power grew, causing Greg to be surprised. Kaiser took advantage of the situation, binding Greg's feet to the ground using 'Everyday Earth Magic' -Earth Bind- and escaping his shackles, before leaping away from him. When he landed, he yanked the blade from his leg, and blood poured out of it. And he burned the wound from within with 'Everyday Fire Magic,' forcing him to wince in pain.
"Khmm!"
Kaiser then approached Eleonora, who had a ashen pale complexion. Her color was gradually but steadily fading. He then cast a glimpse at Greg, who remained motionless, his feet still bound by the shackles he made. But, even though Kaiser knew Greg could simply get out of the binding, he was perplexed as to why he didn't move.
'Did he think I'd be able to break the thing he did?'
'Damn it, would even killing him make a difference?!' Kaiser pondered.
He was in turmoil once more, and Greg's golden eyes, which seemed to mock him, irritated him even more. No matter how jumbled his thinking was, it didn't show on his face; his eyes were emotionless, and his face was like a blank sheet with no expression.
'What can I do?'
