In a room lit by a candle light, there lay a boy with black hair.
He wear nothing, but a simple rag covering his lower-half.
His body covered in bandages.
The boy unmoving, as if life itself perished from his body.
The time passed and as if to signal his awakening, the flickering of the candle light finally ceased, and the eyes of the boy slowly opens.
His onyx black eyes, void of emotions scanned the surrounding.
'Where am I?' he thought.
The candle that once lit the room albeit slightly is nowhere to be seen, and now the room is covered in a veil of darkness.
'I can't see a thing...' he thought.
The boy lay still on the bed.
Not a single part of the boys' body move, not even a finger twitch.
'I can't move my body... What's going on?' the boy wondered, the only thing he can do was surveyed the surrounding, but even that is useless as the room itself is covered in darkness.
The boy continue to lay still, waiting for something to happen, he does not know the time, whether it is day or night, he does not know.
He only waited and waited, until finally he heard something.
*Clack* *Clack* *Clack* *Clack*
'Footsteps?' the boy thought.
The sound gets louder as time passed.
*Clack!* *Clack!* *Clack!* *Clack!*
'That sound... they're coming here!' The boy became alert as the sounds of footstep became louder and louder, but what can he do? Not a single limb of his body move, not even his head can looked around.
*Clack!* *Clack!* *Clack!* *Clack!* *Clack!*
Eventually the sound of footstep stopped.
The boy looked toward where the sound stop, his eyes focused on the single spot where he can vaguely make out the shape of something.
'A hidden room or something?' The boy thought, his gazed solely focused on the same spot.
*Click* *Creeeeaked*
The sound of something opening was heard, and before long, light slowly encroach towards the room.
'Ugh...' The boy slightly squinted his eyes from the light that suddenly entered.
At the place the boy stared off to, there stand a figure of a man holding a lamp.
"Hmm? Oh! You're awake! Thank goodness!" the mans' voice echoed inside the room, his voice tinged with joy.
"I thought, you'd never wake up. Phew~" The man sighed as he went near the boy.
The man slowly put down the lamp near the melted candle.
And finally the full image of the man was revealed.
Messy dark blue hair, gentle purple eyes, and a slightly old looking face. His body covered with a cloak, but the slightly showing parts, reveal the fancy looking clothes.
'Is this what they call a noble?' the boy thought to himself. 'I only see them from the images of the novels and from the history books I read before... Is this the real deal?'
The man looking at the boy, slightly but unnoticeably furrowed his brows as he gazed at the young mans' eyes.
'Those eyes... were they that empty before?' he thought.
Remembering the sight of the boy from the day he saw him, the man sighed.
"Are you feeling well?" he ask as he look at the bandages covering the boys' body.
The boy took a sidelong glance at the entrance the man came in before shifting his sigh toward the man.
"Aahm-..." the boy tried to answer but eventually stopped, his throat felt parched and he wouldn't be able to make a proper answer.
"It seems that the long time you've been asleep made your throat dry. I'll go and get you something to eat and drink, can you wait for me?" the man ask as he looked at the boys' eyes, looking for confirmation.
The void-like eyes of the boy gazed back at the mans', as if to say 'yes'.
"It won't take long" the man said before turning back.
'He left the lamp...' the boy who was left alone once again thought to himself.
'Just what in the f*cking world happened?'
-----
The man returned with a few servant looking people in tow, each of them carrying a tray made in some sort of metal.
"I have returned" the man spoke. "Can you move your body?" he asked worried.
'Hmmm... So not all Nobles really are trash huh?' the boy thought.
"It looks like you still can't. Alright, I'll feed you myself" the man said.
The eyes of the servant-like people around him widened in response, and the eyes of the boy flickered with some sort of light, but immediately disappeared before the people around him noticed.
"Milord!" one of the servant spoke.
'He looks young' the boy thought to himself.
"Is something the matter?" the man called 'Milord' answered.
"No Milord, but feeding him yourself is a little too much don't you think? That boy even attack you Milord! He has committed a grave sin worthy of death!" the servant answered, his voice became louder as he speak.
"..."
"In the first place, a commoner with unknown background shouldn't even be near you Milord!..."
'W-wait... I did what?! I attacked him? When? Why? Where? What's going on?!'
The boy began to think, he couldn't remember ever attacking the man, he can't even remember ever seeing him from the first place.
The boy continue to look over his memories, but no matter how hard he look he couldn't see it. For the boy, today is the first time they met, nevertheless he continue to look, the thought that if there's even a small chance that he really did attacked the nobleman, his head would be sent flying, in a literal sense!
But before he could continue his thoughts he heard a voice that immediately woke him.
"Enough"
The voice that seemed so cold that it could freeze ones' heart reverberated through the room.
"Ugh..." several grunts followed suit after the freezing voice was heard.
'Ukh...' even the laying boy was not spared, his eyes quivered from the unbreathable air that covered the room.
The man seeing the expressions of the people around him, sighed.
"Haaa... I will do as I said Michael. I know this is what my son would do as well" he said.
The air returned to normal as if nothing has happened, but the faces of the servants were pale as sheet, some even fainted.
"My apologies from my sudden outburst, but Michael as a servant of a ruling Lord, you should watched what you say, especially as someone born with blood of nobility"
The man rebuked the servant named Michael as he helped the poor servants that fainted due to a simple leak of his bloodlust.
"Ukh... My apologies, I will do as you said Milord"
The servant, Michael, could only bit his lips in frustration. He gazed at the laying boy with eyes full of contempt.
On the other hand, the target of Michaels anger is panicking in his own mind. He didn't even noticed the gaze directed towards him.
'F*ck! I never thought I'd see my ancestors' after a few months of being transmigrated!'
-----
After the servants recovered, the man ordered them (Including Michael) to go back to their duties. He didn't want another problem to occur.
"I'm sorry about earlier, my servants are just not used to the presence of people with unknown background" The man said.
"No, I should be the one to apologize. I intruded into your abode and selfishly stayed" The boy answered.
After having drink water and eating his fill, he was now able to speak properly again, but his body still has not regained Its function.
"No, I brought you here as a guest, so it's my responsibility to give you peace of mind and a safe place to rest. Although this medical room you are in seems to be not helping much. If you recover and regained your strength, I'll transfer you to the main building so that you could sleep comfortably"
"You... brought me here? Sir?"
"Hmmm? I did, well, it was my knight who carried you here to be exact, is there a problem?"
"No sir. I just have a few questions in mind, would mind listening to them?"
"Not at all, go on"
'I was brought here? But where exactly is here? No, the first question should be...'
"Does sir, knows of the reason why I am like this?" the boy asked.
The man upon hearing the boys' words furrowed his brows. He couldn't understand what the boy is asking. He decided to ask.
"By what happened you mean...?"
"Why my body is covered in bandages and why I couldn't move a single limb. What happened for my body to become like this? Does sir know?"
The mans' furrowed brow became much more noticeable as he continue to listen to the words of the boy, he did not know if the boy was simply playing tricks with him or being honest, he couldn't even read the emotions behind that empty void of eyes of his.
But as a noble who lived his life not bound by chain called territory, he was able to experience a lot of things, and that made him judge the words of the boy to be genuine. That's why his doubts from the moment he laid his eyes at the awaken boy, were spot on.
"You... Have lost your memory, have you?" the man spoke.
The boy nodded his head in confirmation as he stared straight at the gentle eyes of the man.
"I can't seem to remember anything from the time I separated from my companions" he answered.
"Hmm... I see. I doubted it at first, but as it seems you really did lost your memory"
"Doubted Sir?"
"Let me first begin from the time when we met you. We were returning to the capital at that time..."
The man then began his story.
And this was the start of the relationship between the black haired boy, John Kaiser, and the nobleman, Rudolf von Vinceral, who later on showed John the world of nobles and royalty.
