Sasha’s POV:
I open my eyes, which is strange to me. I did not expect to wake up again. I do not believe in God and really thought I was going to die. As my eyes adjust to the light, I notice I am not in the same forest I passed out in. This forest is brighter and extremely tranquil. It appears to be in the evening still, however, it feels timeless in these gorgeous forests.
I notice my leg is not hurting and there is no wound, so maybe I have died, and I am in heaven. It doesn’t make since because I have never been a believer. I get up and start walking through the woods. As I continue to walk, I notice a roaring loud noise. Not knowing what it is, but not scared either, I walk in the direction the sound is coming from.
I break through the trees to find a gorgeous pond fed by a breathtaking waterfall. The waterfall is still in the distance, but I notice I am no longer alone. There appears to be a woman sitting at the base of the waterfall. There is a wolf sitting off to the side of the shore of the pond. And that is when it all comes flooding back to me.
There was a black wolf, saturated with blood looking at me as if his world had just came crashing down. The wolf howled as my eyes started to flutter shut, and as they did, I swore there was a wolf like creature standing before me. I gasp as I remember, and the wolf shifts on the shore looking directly at me. The wolf surprisingly doesn’t scare me. I actually feel at peace.
I start to walk toward the pair when I hear a female voice, “Hello, Sasha!”
I look around, but there is no one near me. “Who’s there?”
The young woman sitting on the rocks, turns to look at me and waves. “I’m here.”
How can I hear her? She is no where near me and she sounds as if she is standing right next to me.
“Come closer and I will explain everything, daughter.”
Daughter? How did she know I was wondering how I could hear her? Can she hear my thoughts? Shaking my questions away, I walk over to the pair, sitting a couple of feet from the large wolf on the shore. “I don’t understand what is going on, where I am, or how I can hear you in my mind,” I say pointing to my head.
“It is so good to finally meet you in person, Sasha. My name is Lena and I am the Moon Goddess. You are in a coma, you are in my grove, and you can hear me because I can project my thoughts into your head.”
I look at Lena in shock. I open my mouth to say something, but realize I need to process slightly longer before I can say or ask anything deemed intelligent.
“I can also hear your thought and so can Nash,” she explains as she nods to the wolf I am sitting next to. He bows his head.
Why do they bow their head? I remember the black wolf doing this. “I am just trying to figure out what is going on? I still don’t understand how I got here, nor why I am in a coma.”
“If you are willing to listen without too many questions, I will explain everything starting from your parent’s death.”
“What? My parents? How do you know how my parents died? I don’t even know what happened,” I shout starting to panic. It doesn’t happen very often, but I have panic attacks if I am under too much stress.
Lena’s eyes turn pure white, and a sense of calm and tranquility washes over me. “Child DO NOT raise your voice towards me. You must stay calm.”
I can feel her power radiating through out my body when she says the words DO NOT. “I am sorry, Moon Gooddess. My parents are a sensitive issue and I have been searching for answers for year.”
“I know you have. If you remain calm and give me a moment, I will answer all your questions. Are you prepared to listen?” she asks me with a small smile.
“Yes, Moon Goddess.”
“As I have told you, my name is Lena and I am the Moon Goddess. I am the mother to all the werewolves. My children are all humans with wolf counterparts. They share the same body but are two separate conscious beings. They are destined to be mated to one other. They have a connection like no other, one normal humans can never achieve.”
“Enough about me, let me tell you about your family and your destiny. Your parents were not werewolves, but they are very distantly related to my direct descendants. My family did not want to take over my position. My daughter saw the pain I suffered through never being able to be with my true mate. She didn’t want to suffer the same pain and decided to reject her mate. She decided to leave her life behind and mated with a human.”
“My descendants continued to make the same decision after I told them their choices. Therefore, they forced my hand, unfortunately and I had to intervene. If I hadn’t the fate of the werewolves would have come to an end. I didn’t see another option because I did not want my children to suffer more than they have.”
“When you were in your mother’s womb, I kissed your mother’s forehead, blessing her with a special daughter. You have a unique mark on the base of your neck, the same as mine. It is a small half-crescent moon. After you were born, I visited you one night. I wanted to see the little one that would eventually grow strong enough to take my position.”
“Your mother walked in and was very upset with me. She called your father in to help persuade me to leave them alone. She had rejected my offer and didn’t want anything to do with me. I told her what I had done, and she lost it. She found a witch willing to cloak you from me and hid you in Concord. I could sense where you were, but I couldn’t find you.”
“As soon as your mother and father were in their car accident….”
“Car accident? My parents died in a car accident?” I interrupt her.
“Sasha, I will never get through this if you keep interrupting me,” she states.
“Sorry, Moon Goddess.”
“I understand child. This is a lot to process and I just told you how your parents were killed. The reason you were never able to find out how they actually died was because I had the records sealed from public record. They died because a rogue attacked them. I am still not sure why this happened as all of my children have free will.”
