Chapter 4: Sleeping Beauty PT 3

Connor's POV:  “Luna, I am sorry to disturb you, but I have important information to share with you,” explains Teresa. Letting a small hiss out of her lips, she breaks our kiss and stares at Teresa. “While it is frustrating, I understand. How many injections did you end up giving me this time and how is the girl that Connor brought home?” she asks with a frustrated tone. “We ended up giving you two injections per the Alpha’s instructions. You were still struggling to contain Alice after the first one. Like I explained to the Alpha, the girl he brought in should be fine. We were able to stop the spread of the toxic DNA as well save her leg. However, she is in a coma and we are unsure of why or how long it will last.” Lexi just nods her head taking the information in. “I was able to see part of what you were saying in the hallway, but can you give me the crash course of the whole thing. I wasn’t able to read your lips when you were turned more toward each other.” I look at Lexi, always impressed with her ability to read lips, I smile at her and explain what we discussed. “Her mother was a witch, and her father was killed by her Alpha when she was twelve. They fled but her mother was bit and suffered while she taught her. She snuck into her former pack’s borders to be able to have a pack to belong to instead of becoming a rogue. There is more, but I can explain later.” Lexi sighs grabbing Teresa’s hand. “I am so sorry you had to do that. I couldn’t imagine what it was like to watch your mother suffer and having to care for you both at such a young age. I do have a question though. Why did you finally tell Connor this?” Teresa wipes a tear away. I have never seen her cry and it must have slipped through because she looks slightly embarrassed with her cheeks tinging pink. “I think I have figured out why you went into a rampage and why the Alpha couldn’t explain everything to me. I think the girl Connor brought in is both of your mates.” Lexi looks at me with a questioning look on her face. She obviously knows the girl is her mate but didn’t realize she could have been a mate to me as well. I see the gears working and she finally exclaims, “That is why you were acting weird and why I was woken up to you howling.” “Yes, she is my mate as well. However, I don’t understand what could be going on. Teresa said that she could help with figuring everything out. Teresa?” I say her name in a questioning way hoping she can provide further information. Teresa looks up from her fidgeting hands, “I can help. Like I explained, my mother was a witch. She was very close to the Moon Goddess and some would say even touched and blessed by her. She had one patch of white hair in her black hair. She had visions and would write prophecies. Before, she died she explained that she knew all of this would happen and then told me about her prophecy book.” “Prophecy book?” I ask with a puzzled look on my face. “She kept a book with all of her prophecies in them. She would mark them out in red when they were fulfilled. She had one last one before she died. She called it the triumvirate prophecy. After two weeks of being acclimated to the pack, I went back to our little den that we were staying in and retrieved the book.” “You have this book in your procession now?” questioned Lexi. “I don’t have it at the hospital. I keep it under a floorboard in my home.” explains Teresa. “Do you remember the prophecy?” she asks again. “I do not remember the prophecy in its entirety; however, I remember the beginning part. There is to be an Alpha and Luna couple destined to have another mate. They are to be the triumvirate. They are said to be the most powerful of mates and because of that they will lead the most powerful pack. There is more to the prophecy. I cannot remember it and I do remember it not being as positive.” “Teresa, go fetch the book and meet my father and the other Elders in my office. Lexi do you feel good enough to go sit with the girl in her hospital room?” Lexi stares up at me with a smile. “Babe, you seem more stressed with this news, but I want you to know we can handle anything. The Moon Goddess has obviously blessed us both with a second mate and we will protect the pack at all costs.” She winks at me and turns to Teresa. “Can I get the IVs out or do they need to stay in longer?” “Luna, you need to finish this bag of saline to flush the rest of the diazepam out of our system. I will have one of the nurses take you to her room. Alpha, Luna, one more thing. I knew this was her because she has the birth mark of a half crescent moon on the back of her neck. It is fairly small and in the base of her hair line, but she has to know it is there.” “Thank you, Teresa. You have saved us so much time in trying to figure out what is going on.” I look at the wall, seeing it is finally a reasonable hour. ** Good morning, pack. I want to call a mandatory pack meeting in the clearing at 10 AM. Everyone is to be in attendance with the exception of the hospital staff. There are no threats, but we must address the incident this morning before the rumors start. Thank you and enjoy your morning until then. ** I break the pack mind link and nod to Teresa letting her know she is dismissed. She heads out, I am assuming to fetch the book. I look at Lexi and lean down to give her a quick kiss. “I love you babe. I am going to my office to talk about this with my father and the Elders. When I am finished, I promise to keep you posted on what is going on.” “I love you too. I’ll keep an eye on her.” I turn to leave. I stop at the door and give her a wink and send her a kiss. We have to figure out what this prophecy says and what storm could possibly be brewing now that we have found her.
