Chapter 7: The Rogue's Confession PT 2

1064 Words
Connor’s POV: Mav retreats in my mind and I know he is just waiting till we enter the dungeons and the mutt’s cell. He must be irritated or upset with me. I can normally feel him closer to the front of our minds. While I was talking to Mav, it seems they have decided that Mallory will go back to the packhouse and make sure there isn’t anything anyone needs in place of Lexi. I open the door and as I do, I am greeted by an open stair way that leads down into a small room with an access panel to the rest of the underground compound. There are two pack warriors standing guard. The doors are opened by fingerprint recognition; however, the guards are there in case anyone were to gain access to a pack members finger that would allow them to open the doors. The first floor holds our interrogation rooms. We have four of them. There is also a small operating room in case we must first save an enemy in order to interrogate them for answers. The second floor is our weapons room. We have a few weapons that will help against other threats that we don’t normally face, one most common of these is vampires. The third floor holds the cells our enemies are held in. While the fourth floor holds the torture room and special room for high security prisoners. This room can only be accessed by me and my higher-ranking members of my pack. We currently do not have a high security prisoner and the last time we did was when we took down Teresa’s old Alpha. My father wanted to know his secrets and asked me to hold him for him, so he could seek his answers out. My father lost his control, and his wolf killed the Alpha after six months of holding him. The smell of our dungeons doesn’t bother me until we get to the third floor. Smelling like filth because the prisoners don’t bath and don’t have an actual bathroom. There treatment doesn’t bother me because they are scum and deserve it. I just hate the smell. The torture floor doesn’t bother me as much. Mav takes over a little more and my more animalistic instincts take over. “Derik help me grab him. I have a feeling we are going to need the fourth floor, so we should just take him down there.” Derik takes the keys from the guard on duty, asking him which cell he is in. The guard tells us he is in the fifth cell on the left. Derik and I walk down to the cell and the rogue is there, strung up with silver chains. I notice that Lexi isn’t with us and she must have gone to the fourth floor to prepare the room. Derik unlocks the door, and we prepare to uncuff his chains from the wall. I know the silver will sting, but it will not affect me like it does lower-ranking wolves. The higher-ranking members of a pack do not suffer from the touch of silver as much. It was an advantage given to us by the Moon Goddess, just as the ability to stop our transformation halfway. Not all wolves can do it and while it is an advantage, there are always disadvantages as well. If we are given wolfsbane, our limited immunity to silver ceases to exist. If we suffer injuries from silver, the wounds take twice as long to heal. As you know, the disadvantage from being able to transform halfway causes us much discomfort. Most wolves only use this advantage if absolutely necessary. I grab the chains to unhook them from the wall. My skin prickles under the silver, but it doesn’t hurt. The rogue’s wrists have turned red and raw from the constant contact from the silver. He is passed out from the pain, so we drag him to the torture floor. He looks like he could afford to eat some more as his ribs are slightly protruding from his sides. As we walk in, I see Lexi standing there next to his chair holding a silver knife and her eyes are flicking between gold and her normal blue. I feel Mav come to the front once he sees Lexi. She is ready and I knew she would be. Shut it asshole. I know I should have more faith in our mate. Yes, you should. She isn’t like other she-wolves. Just like our other mate. She will be a forced to be reckoned with as well. How did we get so lucky to be blessed with two alpha females? I don’t know, but will make the bedroom more exciting. I have to let Derik strap the prisoner into the chair because I am dealing with a slight problem. So many dirty thoughts enter my mind when Mav reminds me of the fact that another mated partner was going to make our bedroom fun even more exciting than it has been. I mean we have bought singles and couples into our bedroom before, but this is our mate. There will be more of a s****l connection because she is our true mate. I notice Lexi’s smirk as she sees me adjust my hard on. I know she doesn’t know why I have one, but anytime I get excited, she isn’t far behind. Then I smell it, her arousal. Oh s**t, if I can, I know Derik can and that is when he asks, “Guys, I don’t know what kind of freaky s**t you all are into, but can you try to control yourselves?” Lexi is the one to respond first, “Sorry, Derik. You know how I get when I notice Connor’s arousal.” Derik just shuts his eyes and shakes his head. “Woman, will you stop it. He doesn’t need to know that, but since you gave my secret away because you can’t control yourself. Mav reminded me of things I have not realized till now.” I send her a wink and she blows me a kiss.
