I awake the next morning to a knock on my door. My eyes flickered open noticing my beautiful mate laying in my arms peacefully sleeping. I tuck a strand of her ginger red hair behind her ear and admire her mark. It is of a flower all black with the moon behind it. I must say it's breath taking. "Why? Why did you have to take her? You knew how I felt about her! Was it just to prove you could?" His tone pissing me off more. "How long have you been able to smell them" I say to her wolf Ava looking at me confused as she gets up and goes to the bathroom. "How long has your pack been watching you?" Her wolf whines and shuts down the link scared. I look at Ava as she just looks down thinking.

"They've been here the whole time. They never left. I can smell at least one of them watching the house. They want to make sure if I leave they can grab me. Even my old mate is somewhere around. I smelled him the day after I lashed out." Her voice shaking nervously. I put my clothes on and brush my hair not saying a word thinking.

" I'm sorry I didn't tell you. I was worried you would think I'm more trouble than I'm worth and would give me back to them." I walk to her and hug her close calming her down.

"I love you Ava. No one will take you from me." I kiss her head and get up to start our day.
