At the cloak of the night, a man with dark red hair stood at the edge of a cliff overlooking a city. His golden gaze seemed penetrating to ones soul, lips pursed and fist tightly clenched as he looked at the city illuminated with brilliant lights before him.
He stood right there, carrying a gloomy aura that can scare any beast from miles away.
Suddenly a noise erupted from behind, the scrunch of dried leaves and grass penetrating the silent night. A man wearing dark tight fitted clothes and black boots walked beside the man with dark red hair. His aura completely different from the man beside him. If the red haired man seemed cold and dangerous, the other seemed bright and amorous. His temperament filled with gentleness and playful nature making him a very approachable person.
"I am not against you avenging your clan, but by doing so, you're completely disregarding your own life. Can't you be more patient?" The man sighed, ruffling his messy blond hair. He stared at his friend, the cold man with a very sad yet complicated gaze.
"My revenge cannot wait. My clan-
"Your Clan will never approve of your sacrifice!" The golden haired man scowled, gripping the mans' shoulder tightly. "As your friend, I can help you if you just wait a little longer! I-
"If you truly are my friend, then you will never stand against me! Against my wishes! My clan- they died because I am weak! My father, mother and my siblings, They all died because we are weak! But how long can I be weak? How long can I be strong? My strength will slowly fade! and My revenge will be forgotten but my hate- my hate cannot be lifted! If I die today by killing them, then I would gladly do so." The man growled fiercely, his glowing golden eyes clashing with the other mans' blue ones.
Seeing as the other wouldn't listen and cannot be convinced, the golden haired man felt choked and unresigned. He knew the other's pain but he would never be able to feel the same. He just want the other to see more beyond the anger and sorrow. He wanted to show his friend that life is more than just revenge.
He took a deep breath, chest tight and in pain. "My dear friend, I've been with you far longer than your clan- I knew and saw your pain. I will not hinder you from seeking the justice you seek. But killing has retributions. That bastard has his own retributions! If you murder even the innocent, you'll be punished and you will suffer ever after death. Think about Meren! He will follow you!" The golden haired man closed his sapphire blue eyes, feeling disgusted by himself. How low of him? Using the other's lover just to make the other consider.
The red haired man sharply glanced at the other, his glowing golden orbs filled with killing intent. His blood lust soaring just by hearing the other mention his lover's name. "Meren will not go against my will." He simply stated, voice filled with affection yet it carried a hint of malice. No one can stop him. Not even Meren.
"Did he know?"
"Caspian, You've been crossing the line these past few days. I've been loosing my patience." The red haired man threatened the other.
"Your revenge has already surpassed the limit of the heavens tolerance. You might end up being punished and I would never be able to help you. Meren will surely find his way to you if that happens but you will suffer and he will suffer trying to find and save you!" Caspian again explained his thoughts.
"The heaven can go to hell! They ignored my pain! They ignored the pain of my clan when they were slaughtered. They ignored the injustice the people of this kingdom brought to the other! Look at them! They plunder and murder yet they still find themselves celebrating! If the heavens can't punish them- then I shall be the one to do it. Meren will live. His ties with that man is no longer, he is not a part of that demon family! He is innocent and thus he was spared from the final purge. That is my mercy. And my mercy turned into this wretched affection. My affection turned me weak, but that was just an illusion. An empty dream. My love cannot happen this life. And perhaps not even after I reincarnate. Still, Meren is free. He sinned no one and hurt no one. I want him to remain as him. Keep him safe. It is my only wish, Caspian. "
Caspian heard the man's word, His eyes felt hot and his chest felt tight. He felt sour and bitter, yet he cannot retort nor can he reject his friends request. "I will find a way to help you. You just had to hold on." He whispered.
"I know I can always count on you. I know you already saw what the heavens will punish me with, thus your continuous warning. But Caspian, I am only a man, I am not benevolent. My hatred will remain, as well as my pain if I don't do something about it. It will be my burden. My soul might cease to exist after this night, Please, protect Meren for me." He softly whispered, then he jumped down the cliff, heading towards the dazzling city far ahead.
Caspian watched sadly, a teardrop fell as he closed his eyes. "It will be a very long night, for me, for you, for Meren and for those who had sinned. Perhaps it is destined, you seeing ones sins. Why gift you with such an ability? It brought nothing but pain."
That night...
was filled with screams.
The soil was bathed with blood and the city burned and turned to ashes.
The next morning came, but the city finally ceased to exist...
