The entire process of the wedding was a blur. Mrs. Blackwood had made all the preparations. After her meeting with Julian, they hadn't met again. Catherine and Elizabeth had been the only people she made contact with. Elizabeth told her that Julian was busy and had asked them to make all necessary preparations. Alex scoffed, he was too busy to prepare for his own wedding. But she didn't care. After all, it wasn't a real wedding. The only thing she had chosen was the dress. She absolutely loved it from the moment she set her eyes on it and Elizabeth was more than happy to get it for her. She had learned later that it was the most expensive dress in the shop. Alex hadn't had any idea. Had she known, she would have chosen another one. But Elizabeth didn't seem to mind. In fact, she praised her for her amazing taste. However, Alex wouldn't dare to take the credit. She could never have chosen such a dress if Elizabeth didn't indulge her. The woman was everything like a mother to her, not that she would ever replace her mother with her. Actually, her mother had really tried to keep her happy through the process. Perhaps she was feeling guilty, Alex would never know. Alex had tried asking her mum severally for the main reason why she wanted her married but Catherine insisted that it was because she had dropped out.
Alex turned her thoughts towards her new husband. That kiss... It wasn't normal. She had felt it all through her body and so had he. She was probably attracted to him, not that she would ever admit to him, but she knew she was. After all, she was a woman and he was a very handsome guy. But she had a great level of contempt for him. He was a man who thought he could have his way just because he was rich but she planned to show him otherwise. She couldn't deny that he sometimes made her feel like she was getting him wrong. She remembered how he pulled her against him for the photo and fury welled up deep in her belly. Then she remembered how he had made her leave the hall even though it would look weird. The guy was still an annoying jerk. He'd kissed her without her permission after all. She'd only agreed to take that picture because she was too tired to argue. She wanted to save that energy for later. She shut her eyes without planning to sleep but had no idea when she dozed off.
The sound of the door bursting open woke her up two hours later.
"Who the hell leaves her own wedding to sleep?", came a voice by the door.
Alex blinked twice. No... That couldn't be possible. She got up with a shriek and hugged the lady.
"Oh, my gosh Zara!", she exclaimed as they hugged each other tight. "I thought you were busy?"
"And miss my best friend's wedding? No. Not for anything".
