I thought being an uncle will be an easy job until my niece made it her life mission to change my view. Opening the pot again, I stirred the spaghetti for the third time while my niece dangled her leg from her position on the kitchen island.
"How long until it's ready?" Her tiny but loud voice asked me with impatience.
I covered the pot and returned to the stool "we have to wait for another three minutes." I checked my watch again, wondering what's keeping Claire. I plan on visiting Lucas today before going to work, but Claire seem to changing that plan for me.
"Mum's spaghetti doesn't stay this long on the fire, I'm telling you, there is something wrong with yours" she told me, her face showing just how convinced she is that I've ruined the cooking.
