Jamis's eyes went wide as he felt anger surge through him like lightning. He had almost lost control of himself as he felt his fingers itch and his inner wolf suddenly wanted out. "You said you had guards." He growled, his voice not exactly his own and he swore his nails were digging into his palms as he thought of the humans attacking his mate. "I do. Did. It was sudden." She explained and it didn't really help the situation. He was sitting across from her on the bed and she was glad. If she needed she could run out the door and enclose him in the hotel room if needed but she felt that she could have taken him on as well. It was bad enough that her manager and friend let it slip and Jamis wasn't dumb. He knew something was up and she couldn't hide it from him. But to be the one to tell
